"In desperate need of a revamp"

The location of this lodge is incredible but sadly the place is in need of a serious revamp and new management. Our room was incredibly overpriced and in terrible condition. The buffet was incredibly disappointing with no effort put in to even make it appear edible and the staff all seemed to be bored and annoyed if you asked anything of them. Overall not a great experience and sad to think what potential it could have. The location and scenery is the best on La Digue but unfortunately the hotel is well below average.

"The end of a wonderful honeymoon in the 1980"

Well, were to start? The concept of the hotel is beautiful, the position perfect, very close to the port and shops, and 2 steps away from the beaches one of this is anse source d'argent one of the most famous of Seychelles, but that's it! We reached La Digue after 4 nights at the Atlantis (Dubai) and 4 nights at the Constance Ephelia (Mahè), the first approach is not very nice: they didn' t have our names on the list although we booked through their website... at the end they found us and they also foumd us a room (thak goodness because the hotel was fully booked). The first impression was of a sleepy place that waked up with the arrival pf a new group of guest, Chiara the receptionist welcome us in a very professional and friendly way, but all the other staff were kind of bored and not really interested in what people normally call job... moving over the other thing that was evident to us and to another cpuple was that the hotel wasn't really modern at all, it is quite old and stuck in the 1980's... overolla the food was very good, better then the one on Mahè, but the breakfast was pathetic for those who like me cannot eat savoury things in the morning... croissant were like cement and with a strange flavour and all the sweet things were almost inedible... let''s not talk about the 2 cappuccino that we ordered the first morning, they were far from what is in reality a cappuccino (I am Italian) and they charged us (yes it wasn't included in the half board...) 186 rupies...almost 7 euros per cappuccino, what? (At the end Chiara eliminated this from our final bill)... 2 days on 3 the shower didn't work and we had to wait the handyman to fix it... and even when it worked there was a very low pressure (not pleasent at all especially because the bathroom was open... ) they tried to say that was normal on a island (one of the handyman tried also to justify the thing saying that that was the 3rd world...yes but the price is 2016...400 euro per night ...), the reality was that in dome of the beach chalet they had problems with the water pressure, infact in the shower room they gaved us the last day the pressure was so high that almost hurted)... but on the top of all this little things (...) there is a very unprofessional and unprepared staff... the only one that was clearly prepared and hard worker was Chiara, the rest of them some are good people, but they really don't know how to deal with people and this was more evident to us coming from the Constance Ephelia in Mahè were the staff is amazing... once one of the barman of the La Digue Island Lodge told us to hurry up to order because he had to go clubbing... (what?), they (also the manager) keep on speaking Creole with each other in front of the customers... I tried very gently to advise 2 receptionists npt to do it and what I had back was a veru rude attitude and one of them laughed on me keeped talking her language, all this with the presence of one of the manager... and in general the 85% of them weren't friendly, they didn't know how to smile, they were simply annoyed by customers... few people like Josepha, Juliette, Joseph and another couple of them were nice, all the rest should change job and work in another field. The irony of the situation was that also the sea wasn't great in those 3 days... at the end of the day we paid for a 4 stars hotel and what we had was a 3 stars hotel in the 1980's with a terrible staff...so the overall experience to us was not good... I would love to speak with the owner to understand why he is allowing to that amazing place that he has in his hands to sink... shocking! Ps: checking out there was a singing man weeing on the bushes at the entrance of the hotel near the reception (I think was one of the fisherman that was celebrating...) very nice indeed.

"Not worth the money"

I had really wanted to stay here in the A-frames, but they were just too expensive. So glad I didn't! We went there to use the internet (for a fee), have a drink at the bar and eat in their restaurant. First, the bungalow are all packed in together, they didn't appear to have any privacy. They are also basically right in town. It just wasn't the idyllic natural location I was expecting. I obviously can't comment on the inside of the rooms. Second, the restaurant is SO expensive. Do not eat there. We spent well over $100 US dollars and it was just kind of a gross buffet. The only time I could see staying here is if you were traveling with small children or a baby and needed a location where you were not going to be leaving the property (which would be a huge waste of a trip to La Digue).

"Mr vikrant dsouza"

One of the most classy boutique hotel visited. Staff extremely friendly yet discreet. Service very good n just opposite the beach. Managed by very capable manager Minthu das. Food is good. Stayed there fr 3days n was memorable.

"Perfect place for a relaxing holiday!"

We spent our holiday in one of the garden chalets which are very spaceous. The rooms are clean - honestly we couldn't find any flaws some reviewers have referred to. As well as refurnishing was ongoing in one of the beach chalets - so in time probably all chalets will be neat and tidy if they are not yet finished. The staff is great - friendly and very helpful. Food was great - local recipies with lots of fish and vegetables and great desserts (best puddings ever!). The prices are fair - people tend to forget that it's an island and most things have to be transported from somewhere else. Pool looked okay but homestly who spents time at a pool when you have the greatest beaches close? Bike rental right in front of the hotel but we tool our time and walked instead. Even the eastern beaches like Anse Cocos are in walking distance and you get to know the locals better.
