"Beautiful "

What an awesome holiday. The beauty of nature was truly evident, and you become closer to God when you see his creation in all its glorious beauty. The Patatron hotel is a superbly run hotel and the food was out of this world! Travel by bicycle as there are a few cars allowed on the island Till the next time...

"Great location...perfect place for a relaxing holiday!!!"

I don't really write reviews generally, but doing this specially for these guys to give them their due credit. Initially, after reading lot of bad reviews about them, we were a bit scared about this hotel. However, since our trip was planned at last moment, we went ahead and booked it. This actually turned out to be our most loved stay at Seychelles. Location is superb. They are very close to the La Digue Island Jetty and Anse Source D'argent beach. You can take bicycles outside the hotel or can just walk down to the Anse Source D'argent beach. In our case, the hotel staff was courteous enough to arrange a taxi. Pickup, check-in and drop was very smooth. Their staff was there to receive us at the jetty. On reaching the hotel, we were given keys to our room within few minutes after check-in formalities. Drop is arranged as per your return ferry timings. Staff was very cheerful and polite. We got whatever we asked for, though sometimes it took sometime for them to respond to our requests (probably because our room was bit far from the reception). We stayed at the beach house room. You can consider booking beach house room or chalets. Beach House Room on first floor can offer good views of the ocean. Chalets offer easy access to the beach. Food is good. Breakfast spread is good and you get plenty of choices. Lunch can be ordered at the poolside restaurant. For dinner, they have a buffet, but you can order a la carte. We are vegetarians and on special request, Indian vegetarian food was prepared and served to us. There are several Indians/Nepalese working at the restaurants and you can speak to them for Indian food. Sandeep and Manju from the restaurant staff were very helpful. Only one suggestion for improvement: Wifi access is limited to only hotel lobby and internet is often not working. Internet is the basic necessity these days, may be hotel management should do something to provide wifi access across the hotel and not just the lobby. We loved our stay here and would definitely want to go back to this beautiful hotel.

"Enjoyed the stay a lot"

I was a bit scared after reading lots of bad reviews on Tripadvisor but at the end of my holidays I enjoyed this lodge a lot ! First of all the location. Its not so far from the jetty, its walkable distance. As soon as my husband and I got off a jetty from Mahe, we were greeted with a lady with a sign " la digue island lodge", we told her our name and she told us they had a transfer van waiting for us and other guests. That was my surprise because we were not aware of this. It is not far from Anse Source D'argent beach neither. It took us less than 10 minutes to get there on a bike and if you get tired of Anse Source D'argent, the beach by the hotel is an excellent place to swim and snokerlling. Waves are not as strong as other beaches as the beach is protected by the reef. Second, service. All the staffs are very friendly and helpfull especially the tall guy at the reception. Every staffs smiled and said hello to me and my husband all the time we were there. We booked the yellow house but when we arrived, we were upgraded to a chalet. Chalet is spacious and beautiful. Bathroom is very clean. The room is a bit cold because of the AC and the blanket they provided are quite thin so we asked the reception for a thicker one, about 5 mns after asking, the blanket was delivered to us. Great Service ! Third, food is great. For breakfast you get plenty of choices : freshly made eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, rice, noodle, all kind of breads, fresh fruits and varities of drinks. Dinner is buffet. Its a bit pricey but its La digue. For us we would definitely come back to this hotel again without a doubt.

"Mixture of attitude "

4 star for location 1 star for attitude of reception staff 7 star for the attitude of the kitchen and the restaurant staff No star for behavioural attitude towards Guests The differentiate between westerns and easterns If they say its a suite... dont expect another room.. you just get a bit bigger room If you are from the eastern part of the world they would give you 1st floor While westerns, even coming later would get the preferential ground floor accommodations. Drinking Water will be charged or provided free depending from where you book the room.. no consistency on that, so even if the site says that a beach house suite gets 2 bottles of drinking water free.. it would not be free if you booked thru an agent. Was witness to arrogance of a staff who was very rude to another guest... maybe the guest was wrong but you cannot be arrogant to anyone in public when you are in service industry. Sandeep / Sonu and Manju from the restaurant were the ones who actually compromised the negatives of the others. All praises to them for the service.

"Great hotel with little inconveniences "

On our 3 island hopping trip on the Seychelles the La Dique Island Lodge was Nr2. Compared to the other hotel on The Island of Praslin it was almost like crossing the iron curtain coming from a communist country to the Western Hemisphere, when the Cold War in the 70ies still existed. The hotel offered welcome drinks, took care of our luggage and the chalet in the first row, next to the ocean was clean and nicely furnished. The aircondition worked perfectly and the bathroom was small but functional. The Swimmingpool had the right size, the water was clean and the food we ordered there a la carte for lunch was absolutely delicious. We haven't had in a long way such a good tasting fresh fish carpaccio as a starter and the fish filet in garlic with rice and salad was of very good quality and tasting fantastically. The sea seems to be less rough on La Dique than in Praslin So sunbathing and swimming made much more fun here, than on the other island. Disadvantages are, that the management is unable to supply a wlan connection in the whole hotel area. You have to sit like school kids in the hotel lobby with the other customers, if you want to be connected to the internet. An absolutely no go in a hotel segment of such a high price. There are no sun shades like umbrellas along the whole beach There are enough palmtrees and other vegetation providing some sort of a shadow, but my European skin needs even with sun protection factor 50 a solid shade, after some hours of exposure to the subequatorial sun here. Why are they so ignorant - umbrellas are not such a big investment for such a huge hotel - and the clientele is more or less all from Europe. TV on the room is sot working properly and from the 30 some cable stations our set was only able to receive 6 Programms in good quality. I guess I would come here again, but only with more possibilities to hide from the sun. One thing here is sort of ridiculous. As a customer of the hotels there are no self bought items in the minibar allowed to storage. That means in every room is a note, that the hotel employees are forced by management to remove private items out of the minibar.
