Mahé, het hoofdeiland van de Seychellen, is 27 bij 8 kilometer.
Mahé heeft haar bijnaam 'eiland van overvloed' te danken aan de overvloed aan flora en fauna. Sommige vogels en planten zijn uniek voor Mahé. Maar ook kent Mahé vele idyllische stranden.

St. Anne en Silhouette Island zijn privé-eilandjes met een luxe resort, respectievelijk 15 en 45 minuten varen vanuit Mahé.

"Why This Resort Is Worth the $$$"

Most reviews of the Four Seasons Seychelles affirm that it is great but mention the high prices. Price, of course, is relative to what similar resorts in this part of the world charge. And no discussion of price is complete without accounting for hotel extras that are included in the rate. This Four Seasons does more than enough to tilt the value proposition in favor of the customer. We had a fabulous resort experience, one that exceeded our high expectations and one that compared very favorably with the top tropical resorts in the world we have had the opportunity to see. For starters, the villas are stunning. We had the good fortune to get upgraded. We loved having our own infinity pool. The indoor shower and tub setup were beyond compare, and the best part is that the outdoor shower was even better than the indoor one. Some guests use the buggy for transportation to the beach but we found the walk to be relatively short and not really challenging. The staff was extremely personable and accommodating. Sarah offered us all kinds of special help and advise, and was willing to go to great lengths to help with early check in, late check out and room flexibility. Joris, the restaurant manager, was similarly helpful and made our in room dining experience better than any we have ever had with artistic, creative additions to our order which must have taken a lot of time. Such was his commitment to having our in room dining experience be something truly unique. The beach staff did a great job of getting lounge chairs ready, chilled water in steady supply and all kinds of water sports activities available without charge. The grounds and the property are reasonably well maintained, and one can imagine that in a jungle and salt water environment, this is an ongoing challenge. Sunsets are amazing from the rooftop deck above the spa, a setting that feels like the top of the world with sparkling wine included at no charge. Marcel, the resort manager, introduced himself at check in and initiated later conversations with us during our brief stay. Such personal attention is rare, and the Four Seasons Seychelles is a world class resort of such stature that staff, from top to bottom, could easily rest on their laurels. Clearly the commitment here, though, is to lavish customers with an abundance of sincere, personal attention so that each guest feels honored and appreciated. We hope we have an opportunity to return to the Seychelles and enjoy this fabulous resort and their amazing staff another time. Yes it's expensive but it is absolutely worth it.

This was the best holidays I ever had with my children. My kids were always tended to, never felt bored, made friends and loved the pool team. I used the spa a lot and got pampered every inch of the way. The villas are stunning and everyone extremely happy and helpful. My kids are already planning their next trip there. "Close to Perfection..."

We've given 5 stars to this hotel, but there are a number of things that don't exactly correspond to our preferences. First of all, the whole mountainside is occupied by the various villas and residences, so you get a feeling that the natural setting is overwhelmed by the resort, though one has to admit that the architecture is indeed discreet and tasteful. Secondly, the resort is a bit spread out, and having to wait for a "buggy" to take you from one place to the next can be a bit tireseome when you're in a hurry. Finally, there could be more activities - for example, a walking trail that you can go on on your on (without a guide costing 30 euros or so per person!) - and the resort is a bit far away from other attractions or villages to visit. On the positive side, the villas are magnificent: intimate, comfortable, isolated - and the view is fantastic! We were on half-board, and that too was absolutely marvellous. The beach is indeed magnificent, though we didn't bother with the snorkeling: there didn't seem to be as much marine life as in the Maldives. Kayaking was great fun, though. Finally, the spa is quite pricey, but our experience there was unforgettable. We hope to go back to the FS Seychelles soon, even though we both have a slight preference for the Maldives!

You get astonished from the moment you set foot in the reception area by the view. They upgraded us to a Serenity villa witch has a top view of the ocean. Villa was very private. lots and lots of room, nice pool with ocean view and quite a few places to sit outside. The hotel beach area I liked it a lot, good food and drinks and animated but in the same time very relaxing. Staff was great and eager to help in any matter. It's on my come again list.

Five years ago almost to the month, My wife and I stayed at the Four Seasons Seychelles, the one in Anse Petite in the Baie Lazare section of Mahe Island, home of the capital of Seychelles cluster of 150 Islands, Victoria. My first visit was one those absolutely magical stays, almost everything was perfect; the rental Villas numbering only into 60s were kept immaculately and the common areas and service were up to the legendary Four Seasons standards which have made the chain second to none internationally. Bob Suri the, Resort Manager at the time was on top of everything, no detail was over looked and no reasonable request ignored or denied. Even the included breakfast was perfectly executed everyday under the watchful and meticulous direction of the breakfast Manager who I nicknamed “uncompromising Frieda”. My wife and I spent a week or so and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. In fact I was so impressed that after a quick check of many of the other local offerings, I wrote a review back then for Trip Advisor declaring the resort “ the best resort in Mahe”! The adage that “nothing is quite as nice experienced the second time”, may have been operable this time, when we visited the same Four Seasons again. We stayed at the same hotel five years on, helped by our old friend Bob Suri who as of this writing has been newly promoted to the post of Hotel/Resort Manager Four Seasons in the uber competitive Golf Country of Dubai. Bob was kind enough to get us the reservation at the super successful and constantly full Four seasons Seychelles, for 2/4/2017-2/12/2017 This time, the resort was on the surface just as magical, the same dreamy location, the same spectacular appointments, same fantastic panoramic views of the secluded bay. This time we stayed at an upgraded villa on the upper reaches of the rocky, hilly grounds. At a cursory review, the Villa was again great. I must at this point state that with one exception, the management speedily dealt with any issues that was brought up to their attention, the amiable Resort Manger, Marcel Oostenbrink and his professional and agreeable right hand Front Office Manager of Aruni Dwivedi was rountimely addressed. That said, the absolute pinnacle that Four Seasons chain occupies in the annals of hospitality, represent more of what one doesn’t find a need to ask for, versus getting satisfaction when asked. There were parts of the villa not quite cleaned right, sticky door locks, chair with a loose handle, and debris in the dense foliage. Again, to the credit of the management, they fixed all but one problem and offered to move us to another villa, but by them my wife had settled in to our place and had managed to “irretrievably spread out”! The restaurant and in Villa services in general was pedestrian compared to before, and despite Shaiban Hasan’s (The Food & Beverage Director) constant presence, sweetness and bouncy effervescence, and the genuine desire to put things right things were not the same as last visit. Nevertheless, the breakfast buffet and some of the special dinners such as their Seafood Extravaganza were scrumptious. Once more I must point out that a bad stay at the Four Seasons Seychelles which this one was far from is better than a great stay at any other resort, bar none. But as in the case of great civilizations, great hotels also succumb slowly and incessantly to the despicable permeation of apathy and compromising tolerance. I will conclude this review by making special mention of a pet peeve of mine. The humble breakfast egg! I like mine soft boiled or VERY over easy and despite the special request card that was place on every table for the very purpose of calling out how you wanted your made to order eggs; I found myself sending back eggs time and time again because they were not done right! I suppose the cooks at the Four Seasons also need to work at something……
