Mahé heeft haar bijnaam 'eiland van overvloed' te danken aan de overvloed aan flora en fauna. Sommige vogels en planten zijn uniek voor Mahé. Maar ook kent Mahé vele idyllische stranden.
St. Anne en Silhouette Island zijn privé-eilandjes met een luxe resort, respectievelijk 15 en 45 minuten varen vanuit Mahé.
Me and my husband booked this hotel based on the nice pictures of the pool with the sea as a background. Our first disappointment was when our transfer turned to the opposite side of the beach and climbed into the hill where the hotel is located. Yes, it is on the top of a hill and you need to go for lots of stairs and quite a long way to reach the beach. I told the transfer driver that we might be in the wrong hotel cause it's nothing like it shows online. We arrived to our room and surprise: the hotel driver opened the door and didn't let us in. The room was not ready despite of being long time after we are paying for it. He then entered the room and started to open windows and try to tide up things. He then apologized and let us in after some minutes. Where was the bath tub described in the room details? None. No iron facilities like it says. The Nespresso machine you have to pay for the capsules. No tea bags or sugar or anything. So I decided to shower after my flight. Where are the towels? None. I tried to call reception. No details on the phone itself about how to do it. I went to reception and asked how to call them and if the hotel provides towels. The lady apologized and said she would sent towels. Almost 1 hour and no towels still. Towels arrived about 3 hours after this. Someone brought 2 bottles of water. That's the only thing we had in our room. Completely empty, like a self catering hotel. I hope the sheets were not from previous guests cause nobody came to change it. Food buffet is not bad. Pool is nice and modern. At least we managed to have 2 decent meals before we do early check out. We couldn't stay any longer because it feels horrible to buy a fake experience. Horrible!
"Room full of lizards"
We stayed in Valmer on our honeymoon for 9 nights. We tried to book excursion 4 times, and at last thwy sayed everithing ia booked and rearranged with travel agent working with the hotel excursion but they forgot to pick us in the morning and made us pay more money for another excursion. And the other problem that we had was that the room was full of lizards. They came to sprey but that didn't help at all, they continue comming through the windows. Despite all of that the hotel is nice, and the staff at the restaurant is polite.
"WOW, Imagine if the service is so pathetic before you book!!!"
Been trying for days to get a quote from this place, but what a joke. Today I called for like the 100th time and I was told "this afternoon" again! - and that the person who quotes is out of the country!!! No wonder they have such bad reviews and are about the only resort not fully booked yet!!! It is highly unlikely that I will choose to go here during my vacation. I am a VERY well traveled person, I have never had the urge to write a review before, because considering all the 22 countries I visited, I never experienced this bad service even before booking the place.
"Bad service we will not come again "
We booked this Hotel 3 nights on our honeymoon trip through the Seychelles. The service there was really bad. The service crew seemed to be bored, so for all you habe to wait a Long Time, and then you got told that the reason is because the staff would have to less persons. At the Buffet for breakfast you can see that the cook cooks things for the staff, because they Carry it in the kitchen afterwards. The thing we are disappointed the most is that we booked a Honeymoon Package, whitch means that you get a bottle of Champaign a fruit platter and flowers ON ARRIVAL. Unfortunately we got nothing on arrival. We asked at the reception when we get the things, there they Said this evening we will get the things on the room. But we got nothing, we asked at the reception, then they Said tomorror Morning. But there we again got nothing, we told our travel agent our problem, she phoned at the reception and they promised us to do the things in our room . In the evening again was nothing there, because of that my husband phoned 3 times again with the reception, where they said they wouldn't know something about a honeymoon package, they have to check first. After that my husband called and told them that the service at this hotel is NOT ACCEPTABLE. After that we finally got a sparkling wine no champagne , a fruit platter, flowers missing again. So we would not advise to book a Honeymoon Package there. We will not come back again to this hotel.
"Beautiful place, but rooms are insects nest. No value for money!"
We were guests in this hotel for 4 days. Our room was filling with insects (A LOT) again and again (yes we have keeped the doors and windows closed). We discussed whit the manager and he laughed to our face and saId live with it. We payed for ocean view room and the solution was "close the curtains and lets hope" It was chaotic. we were full of some kind of mosquito bites. We saw cockroaches in our room two times. We asked for some kind of compensation, but we didn't get anything for our trouble. We paid a lot for the sea view room, but had to keep curtains closed for the whole time The view was awesome and the food was great but everything else was not.
