Luxurious hotel in beautiful surroundings. The staff were sweet and kind. The breakfast menu was nice. The dinner menu was also good(maybe vary the menu a little more from night to night). Overall very nice to stay at Paradise Sun.

"Very nice stay"

Check in was really weak. No one really took care of us... we had to be proactive to get all information. From then on, the stay was really very nice. Breakfast was super. Dinner also very nice with good live music. Service in the restaurants was really good.

"Best place in Seychellen"

Best beach: white powder sand, view, safe (not all beaches on Seychellen are safe due to the current). Great food in a restaurant on the beach with great life music. Yoga. Nice entertainment. Great service. Great everything. Wonderful!

"If I could design my dream hotel..."

Five years ago we came to this hotel to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. This year for our 30th there was absolutely NO doubt where we would be going: a two-centre trip (just like 5 years ago) to the same hotels. The reasons for that are many, but can be summarised briefly as "If I could design my dream hotel, in all ways this would be it" The setting is exquisite: Paradise Sun sits at the end of a stunning beach, fronted by talcum-powder soft sand. The arrangement of the accommodation is in three arcs looking towards the sea, meaning that every room has a sea view. The style is rustic and woody in the best possible sense, with individual verandahs. The staff understand how to make the most of the natural qualities of the setting: the gardens are stunning, ablaze with exotic blooms, and all kinds of natural creatures. If you have a phobia about crabs, think again about the Seychelles as their burrows are everywhere - however as we love seeing the wildlife, we were often to be seen staring down the burrows in the (usually vain) hope of seeing the resident. The gardens are also full of Red Cardinal birds and little Seychellois doves which flock nearby when you are eating, hoping for a crumb. Look carefully and you can see the hanging nest of a weaver bird, and perhaps even the parent birds going in and out feeding chicks. Bright green geckos might suddenly appear in corners or on posts, apparently thinking they are invisible. The shore is pure white sand as far out as about 80m at high tide, and so whilst inviting to swim and wade (it is also shallow for well over 100m) might seem as though it has nothing to offer the snorkeller. However, put your mask on and have a look: in the sandy shallows there are many fish, but these are translucent with subtle markings so not visible from above. You might be fortunate and see a ray swing past you...they swim very fast and you will be lucky to catch a glimpse. We swam out about 100m so that we were over the sea grass. There are more fish here, though obviously it is not like a coral reef, but you might be as fortunate as us and chance upon a turtle, unhurriedly gliding through the sea like an aquatic albatross, its flippers wafting lazily. We followed one for about twenty minutes and it was magical. Back on land...the dining room is built out onto the beach so that at high tide the water laps at the edge of it. It is a beautiful setting, and watching the moon rise over the sea as you eat your dinner is a wonderful and life-changing experience. The food is every bit as excellent as we remembered: each night is themed but there is a huge variety at every meal so if you are not keen on that night's theme, you will still have plenty of choice. We tended to usually choose the fish as this is something the Seychellois have a great deal of expertise at! There are always many salad options as well so one can pile a plate high with delicious food and STILL feel virtuous... But then the desserts: leave space for them (as we know, there is a separate stomach for these...) because the variety is again stunning. If they are doing the caramelised bananas, possibly consider leaving EXTRA space. Entertainment. There are activities available such as volleyball, table tennis and so on. I am sure there are many more too, but as we are committed explorers and obsessive snorkelers we did not make use of these options. There is live music provided for several evenings: some gentle and soothing (a guitarist) and others much livelier (local bands) all, without exception, were extremely good and it is a credit to the management that they can source such talent. On one evening there is a show (during which audience participation is encouraged, so have a go) involving demonstrations of local dances. The rhythms, which include both Moutia and Sega, may seem unfamiliar to some (I am a professional dancer so I don't have difficulty with them) but the experience of relaxing and dancing in the sand on a moonlit beach to this live music is one which will stay with you forever, and which I still daydream about. Hire a car during your stay, even if just for a few days. The rates are good (cheaper than on Mahe) and the cars are relatively new and in good condition. (The drive on the left so UK citizens will have no problems with that) I suggest you hire your car from the desk in the hotel: one of the men who works there is an amazing artist who, whilst not dealing with customers, creates extraordinary artworks on canvas using only coloured biros. It is a privilege to watch him at work and he is delightful to talk to There are many trips available, either booked from the hotel or from people you meet on the beach. We booked ours via people met on the beach and had thoroughly good experiences. In short, as I have rambled on enough, I run short of superlatives. This hotel is so beautiful, the atmosphere so warm and relaxed, the food so delicious, the staff so delightful, the setting so perfect that I can only conclude by saying that if money was no object I would stay there at least twice a year and never tire of it.

"Stunning Location!"

From the moment you arrive, it is all about kick your shoes off and just relax! Peaceful, truly island resort with no sign of "commercial-ness" as some hotels. Accommodation is comfortable and close to the perfect turquoise ocean. Best stay on Praslin island!
