• Cote d'Or (in het noordoosten)
Wij bieden aan beide stranden uitstekende hotels aan. Ook het koraalrif is een lust voor het oog.

"Not recommended"

We had read the reviews and this definitely was not our 1st choice but it being new years and a screw up by our agent we decided to go ahead. Just to ensure we dont have the experience a lot of other people did we book 2 junior suites and thank god we did! These rooms were quite nice with a nice sitting area as well, bath rooms are old but we didn't thankfully have issues related to plumbing. Beds were comfortable , a/c's were working fine, house keeping was just about ok!However, the deluxe rooms have a sea-view , standard rooms have a pool view, suites have a view of other rooms !! (i wonder whoever thought of that!!) Now coming to problems and there were plenty: 1. We were travelling with a couple who had an infant , unlike most of the other places they refused to help her with cleaning of feeding bottles, unfortunately we didn't have the detergent to clean the bottles - they didn't provide that either , she was made to run from one restaurant to another (owned by berjaya itself) to get the bottles cleaned (appalling!!). Finally she managed to get some but after a lot of hassle. 2. No concept of room service - Even if they forget to wash the glasses or used mugs don't be surprised , don't even bother asking for another set , if you do (like we did) they will guide you to pizzeria to go and pick it up yourself !!! 3. Check - in - Laid back , there was no clarity as to when we will get our rooms (it was past the check-in time), we were just asked to sit and wait (like others) , after half n hour we decided to go for lunch and come back & check in. We came back after 2 hours and the rooms were just about getting ready. They aren't even apologetic about it !! 4. Food - Totally sucks , we were stuck with a half board plan (breakfast and dinner) and definitely regretted it. Taste, quality everything is poor (rotten watermelon cut & served is a good example). Vegetarians, in all probability will barely have anything to eat and non-vegetarians will not enjoy the food. 5. Wifi - Paid , 100 SCR for 24 hours , with only network around the pool area. I am glad we were in the hotel only to sleep and maybe chill for few hours in the evening. Our agent had mentioned that this might be a good place for indians from a food perspective but it was the opposite. 6. The pool is really small , wasn't very clean , the water also had a very peculiar stale smell I would actually recommend staying at La Digue island and not Praslin , the vibe is much better.

"Where not to stay in Praslin: Berjaya Resort"

Over xmas much was fully-booked and online this looked pretty and more personal. Beware of the internet! Rooms were 70s relics, baths has rust-holes in them and in general you had the feeling that corners were being scraped at every opportunity to make savings. Am sure this is not run by a European or American! The food was truly appalling (breakfast and sometimes dinner), bland, flat, cheap, hardly any vegetarian dishes, hardly any fresh fruit. The only one who did a good job was the poor man making omelettes and pancakes. Staff were sullen and not very friendly. Would definitely recommend not staying here and up-dating your travel agency on your experience.

"Very Poor hotel with great location. "

We booked this hotel basis the website photos and claim that it has been renovated . Firstly we booked a junior suite which was not available when we reached and they said it's not renovated . Then they relegated us to a room because we had no choice and got away by saying it's a renovated room . They flatly refused refund .The pot had been used and she flushed in front of us . The house keeping was extremely average to very poor . The property from outside is extremely beautiful and location is superb however the service is pathetic and staff is even worse. Lastly we were also told there is no wifi . When we stated it's there on their website , they say the don't know what has been put up on the website !!! I would NOT recommend anyone to touch this hotel as they are massive cheaters .

"Nice but not good service"

The hotel is nice, next to the beach in a good area of Praslin. The staff at the reception is not very helpful but the hotel rooms, especially deluxe are good. Wifi do not work but you can buy a local mobile phone SIM with internet.

"Average resort - Berjaya Praslin Seychelles"

I and my wife went to ring in her 50 birthday. 1. The AC in room # 101 was not working during the day time. Continued for 3 days we stayed. This is a larger sized room. The AC is one tonne. It needs at least a two tonne AC for proper cooling. They tried to help but couldn't. They were able to locate a pedestal fan which they cleaned up and obliged us. 2. Phone was not working when we checked in. Started working next day. So we had to physically go to the reception for anything we wanted 3. Table lamp was not working. They called an electrician who repaired it and made it work 4. I wanted to go swimming and use the pool bar for drinks. I was told that the bar man had left a few days ago and they haven't been able to find a replacement; hence the pool bar doesn't run 5. Wifi is chargeable. Our travel agent in India had told us wifi is free here.So beware...don't get conned. Service is not in their blood. They are running a place called resort. Their concept seems to be to build a brick and mortar place. But what has to accompany for making the place a memorable one is not understood by them. We later learnt from locals that this hotel is not popular one with tourists.
