Over Constance Lémuria Resort

Our favorite

• Cote d'Or (in het noordoosten)
Wij bieden aan beide stranden uitstekende hotels aan. Ook het koraalrif is een lust voor het oog.

"Speechless! Will definitely return!"

   22-01-2017
OK, so this is going to be a long one - and I think the staff at Lemuria completely deserve nothing but a true, honest review. My husband and I planned to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary at someplace special. And the Seychelles was the destination of our choice. Alongside, my search for hotels in Praslin and Mahe ended up with finding a lot of reviews of the Constance Lemuria on Tripadvisor and other forums online. We decided to give it a try. From the get go, we were mesmerized. Right from the drive from Baie St.Anne all the way through the Valee de Mai through the grand entrance of the resort, we were transported to another world. We were very surprised when we found that our rooms were prebooked (going by the experience of our stay at Mahe in another hotel, we were disappointed at the way the rooms were allotted). Point 1 - The luggage drop off and concierge - surrounded by a small pond filled with the Koi fish, all colours and shapes. A warm welcome by the staff who whisk away your luggage with such efficiency and smoothness you don't realize when it reached your suite! Buggies wait to take you to the main resort. Point 2 - The main entrance - beautifully carved wooden doors, a group of pleasant, friendly and smiling front desk employees waiting to welcome you once again, hand out your key cards and run you through formalities and the facilties offered at the resort. Here is where we first caught sight of the very beautiful Petite Anse Kerlan. Needless to say, we couldn't wait to get into the crystal blue waters or one of the three hotel pools! I must say this - the entire check in was so efficiently managed - hardly took us 10 minutes, and while we waited, we were treated to two glasses of sparkling wine in the seating area of the Huna bar - that, along with a beautiful view of the resort took away all our tiredness! We were driven to our suite by the guest relations manager Medicie, who I was in touch with over the E-mail a good 2-3 weeks prior to our arrival. I had specified what kind of suite we wanted and where, and it was exactly what I had hoped for. I must, must, must say this - every single facility at the Lemuria is extremely well thought of, keeping in mind the needs of a guest - be it the scrub in the shower or the tiny little light that illuminates your menu in a dimly lit restaurant. The first day in our suite, we were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine (some more spoiling!). During our stay in our suite, I realized that the entire property was built AROUND what is naturally available at the island and thanks to this, there is an abundance of flora and fauna around. Beautiful birds, flowers and huge trees, all naturally blend into the atmosphere. All the wild flowers the housekeeping staff used to decorate our rooms were sourced locally from within the property which made it even more special for us. Being a vegetarian, I was apprehensive of what might be available on the menu.I was very keen on tasting creole food, however, was doubtful if there were vegetarian options available. We planned on having our anniversary dinner at The Nest, rightfully called so, as the restaurant nesting between the Petite Anse Kerlan and the Anse Kerlan on either side. The views are spectacular either ways! Coming back to where I was, the menu was altered just to suit my vegetarian taste buds! The whole thing! So here we were, my husband with his normal menu (he's non vegetarian) and me (with my whole entirely new menu!).I was excited. The evening of the dinner, Medicie came over and helped me do up my hair with the beautiful frangipani flowers. It rained very heavily that night but the staff at The Nest were so accommodative and caring of us. And thanks to Chef Marcus and his team - the food - oh my word, it was FAULTLESS and top class. Every single item on the menu jumped out to me in terms of flavor and presentation. And I mean, every single item. It definitely called for a thank you in person to the Chef who drew up such a fantastic menu just for me. The surprises didnt; end there. When we got back to our room after our dinner, our room was beautifully set up just for us with flowers and a personalised card signed by all the staff along with a beautiful leather photo frame. The signature Lemurian personalized touch was to be seen everywhere! I was beyond happy. The staff at the Lemuria ensured that my 11th wedding anniversary came with memories that I will cherish for a lifetime. Aside of all this, all our uneding questions and queries with answered with utmost patience and politeness. The 4 nights and 5 days we spent at the resort were so relaxing and comfortable, we felt so destressed - be it on the beautiful sandy beach of the Petite Anse Kerlan or the Anse Georgette or the calming waters of the pool with a drink and snack from the pool side bar or just saying hello to the resident tortoises Donatello and Leonardo or having a sumptous breakfast at The Legend, overlooking the beautiful blue sea each morning. We were spoilt like children. I would like to take this opportunity to especially name the following staff for going out of their way to make us feel comfortable and happy - Medicie (you were my lady Friday right from the word go!), Kai (your enthusiasm and cheerful assurance always calmed me down), Salima (it was like I made a new friend in you from the moment you handed out that fish feed to me and introduced me to Donatello and Leonardo!), Mariappan (it is difficult to imagine Takamaka without you!), Arumugam (you made my day by bringing me a wonderful spread of Indian food out of nowhere!), Sohail, Karthick and Govinda (you guys spoilt me silly with personalised attention at The Nest - Karthick, your special concoctions of ginger and mint were lovely!), Chef Marcus and team (for giving me THE BEST Creole culinary experience ever!), the housekeeping staff whose surprises with themes in our room were never ending, and last but not the least, the concierge team - those buggy rides I'll never forget in a long time to come. If we ever return to the Seychelles, we will be spending all our money and time at the Lemuria for it was worth every penny we spent. Hats off and a BIG thank you to you all - you gave us the experience of a lifetime!

"Best hôtel of Praslin"

   21-01-2017
How could I start, for me the Lemuria hôtel is one of the best hotels I have been going to. We have been going with my family for about the last 6 years. I am never disappointed of this hotel, and every time I leave this place I feel like leaving my family. The staff is always kind, smily, professional and helpful a great. And I wanted to give a special thank you to the concierge staff, Luc, Kenneth, Jean de Dieu, Patrick, Franchesca, Salima, and Yannick. To the staff in the restaurant aswell, Charith, Carol, Cindy, Cherry, Kumar, Clara, Santosh and of course the Chef! To Fabienne, Dora, Kelfa at the bar. And to the spa team Timour, Bernadette, Franchesca, Sophia, (Parwati, Marinette and Fatima Mae thank you for these great massages), also a big thank you to Arta that has been great to us. I actually thank every single staff in this hotel that work so hard every days and to have made my stay one of the greatest as usual. Keep the hard working and I will deeply miss you all, with the hope of seeing you soon again.

"Good Hotel, BUT...."

   15-01-2017
This is a good Hotel with nice rooms, good restaurants, friendly staff and lovely beaches. However, the extra charges for drinks, etc which you occur is n a hotel if you are here in half board are close to robbery.... Haven't seen any such prices in any 5 star hotel in the world!!! This puts a sour taste to the trip.

"Honeymoon in 5 star paradise"

We spent 10 nights here over Christmas in a Junior suite and from the moment we walked in to the sad day we left, this place was faultless. The staff here go above and beyond every single day from the people who clean the rooms to the gardeners to the guys who serve drinks to the waiters etc etc. The general manager made a point to be visible which was very impressive. The place is a turtle sanctuary and Adrian the Turtle Manager is so dedicated to those special beauties making sure they are well taken care of when they come on land to lay their eggs and protecting their tiny babies until they are ready to be released into the sea. We were there on a B & B basis and the food was very good. We ate in Diva, the Nest and on Christmas Eve we ate in Legends. Christmas Eve was just spectacular - they went to so much effort - carol singers and the buffet was like a work of art. The room itself was newly refurbished and spotless. The bed with its Tempur pillows was heavenly. Room service was brilliant - efficient and professional. Hubby played golf and thought the course was narrow, difficult but spectacular. I drove him around in the golf cart. A fantastic day. Want to give a big special thanks to Julien ( Sommelier), Medici ( front desk), Sanele ( beach), Nishanth ( Somelier), Elpricilla ( Takamaka bar) and Adrian ( Turtle Manager) for going above and beyond.

"Paradise for relaxation"

   01-01-2017
We stayed here as a family, two adults and one child (three years old) for a week from the 17th - 24th December. The hotel occupies a beautiful and unique situation in a natural green environment with access to three beaches including the stunning Anse Georgette. Though there is a lack of facilities on Anse Georgette the hotel will arrange picnics. The junior suite we stayed in was modern and spacious, capable of accommodating a small single bed for our child. The balcony looked out over the sea enabling the opportunity to sit out and relax, listening to the waves gently break onto the shore. The kids club provided us with an alternative area to keep our son entertained when we weren't at the beach or the pool, usually during the periods it rained. There were plenty of toys, games and small pool and play area to keep him entertained and special activities are arranged, though children under 4 must be accompanied by a parent. We were on a half board package for our stay and tried all three restaurants for dinner. In our opinion all offered good quality food including Legend the main buffet restaurant but our favourite was Nest for both the food and relaxed ambiance. The final aspect that made it such a wonderful stay were the staff who in most cases went above and beyond what we expected. Not only was the service excellent but they made you feel welcome in a manner that felt personal. There are far too many staff to name personally but we particular appreciated the service received from Tawanda in Legends, Santosh from house keeping and Amit and Karthik in the Nest Restaurant. My only small criticism of our stay was the booking process, which we made through Booking.com. We stayed on a half board package and had booked a room for two adults through them, trying to include our son on the booking automatically added a second room, which we didn't require. I had contacted the hotel in advance who had confirmed that an extra bed could be provided in our room. It should be noted that for an extra bed in the room their is an additional charge of EUR 100 per night per person for bed and breakfast or EUR 140 per night for half board. In my view this expensive with many luxury hotels allowing children under 6 to stay at no additional cost. After making the booking I contacted the hotel directly to request the additional bed but was advised that I had to submit the request through Booking.com, not really sure why they couldn't arrange it after contacting them directly. After eventually confirming the additional bed the hotel asked us to confirm that we only wanted to book bed & breakfast for our son. I confirmed this and explained that we only booked bed & breakfast for him as we felt that an additional EUR 40 per night for a three year old was excessive. Confusingly on our first evening at the hotel in Legend Restaurant we informed the staff that our son was not on a half board package but were told by the staff there that it was free for children under 6. If you eat at Nest or Diva then kids can order from a comprehensive children's menu that certainly costs less than 40 euros. Despite the above, which was a minor issue we had a fantastic stay at Constance Lemuria. I felt slightly guilty that we didn't leave the resort during our whole week in the Seychelles but on the basis that our primary reason for being there was to relax we didn't really see any point in leaving. We would definitely go back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
