• Cote d'Or (in het noordoosten)
Wij bieden aan beide stranden uitstekende hotels aan. Ook het koraalrif is een lust voor het oog.

"Great hotel in a great place"

We stayed at Le Duc for 4 nights, and we were very satisfied with everything: nice, clean and big room, friendly and helpful staff and management, tasty food and - not the least, a fantastic location. Would highly recommend this gem of a hotel!

"Our stay at Le Duc de Praslin"

We went to Praslin in August and we stayed in Le Duc de Praslin for one week. We really enjoyed our stay, the employees were very kind and they were always trying to make their guests happy. We booked bed & breakfast so we went down to the restaurant area every morning and had one of the best breakfasts that you can get in a hotel, you could even order Omelettes, fried eggs or scrubbled eggs if you wanted to. The beach was also very nice with the white sand, the palm trees and the turquoise water. It was a overall a great atmosphere and the Café des Arts Right next to the beach offered a good variety of drinks and meals. We had some wraps and sandwiches down there with a great place where we could look down to the beach. The staff also managed to get us a car we wanted to rent so we explored the rest of the island with its beautiful beaches and rocks. We really recommend you to stay in this hotel due to the perfect location right next to the beach and the polite staff.

"One of the best hotels ever"

Everything was just perfect in this hotel. We cannot believe that it only has 4 stars, it should have 6 :-) The dinner at the hotel restaurant was marvelous and the service is extraordinary, room and bath are large and great. The setting is like in a botanical garden, the pool is open 24h, the beach is near and the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. Unfortunately we had an accident and had to leave the island earlier. Everyone in the hotel was extremely helpful. Although they don’t have room service, they brought a wonderful dinner into the room since I could not walk because of a broken leg. We will definitely come back to The Duc de Praslin in near future! We can strongly recommend this hotel, especially for couples of any age.

"Lovely hotel"

Had 4 lovely days at this hotel. Room was terrific with a pool and sitting area out back. We loved it Staff was fantastic. Always smiling and very helpful. They fixed everything for us. Trip to La digue and trip to curiouse Island was much cheaper than our travel agency could do The beach is 3 min walk and you can do lunch by the beach. You have to book dinner in advance and you should try it at least one night. Our most expensive night on this 17 day honeymoon but it was worth it. 4 course dinner was great.

"Superb family run hotel just a stone's throw away from a great beach"

Before arriving at the hotel, I had been in contact with them to organise a pickup from Praslin airport. On arriving at Mahe and making our way to the domestic terminal, we were booked on to an earlier flight. A quick call to the hotel and everything was fixed. Arriving at the Praslin airport, our driver, Wils, was ready and waiting. A Praslin man, born and bred, he gave us a few tips and some history of the island on our 30 minute drive across the island. On arrival, we were greeted with smiles and offered a drink and cold towel to freshen up. After a small amount of paperwork, we were off to our room. The layout of the resort centres around the pool and main bar / restaurant with luscious gardens between the rooms and the main building. For a 4 star hotel, it had completely exceeded my expectations, especially in terms of the level of service we received. Our room was a great size and well appointed with a nice big bed, A/C, huge shower, separate bath and twin basins. Initially I was disappointed that we had a connecting room, although this is probably the first time I’ve ever had a connecting room through which you couldn’t hear a peep from the other room. The terrace has some chairs and a lounger which is great if you want a break from the beach and offers somewhere quiet to sit and watch the birds and lizards. On the first night, we dined in the beachfront restaurant, Cafe Des Arts. Whilst the building is owned by the hotel, the restaurant is independently run. On the plus side, the restaurant is a very short distance from the hotel and is located right on the beach. On the downside, you can’t charge the check to your room and have to settle there and then. This saw me having to make a quick trip back to the room to fetch my wallet. The restaurant itself was superb and given that it’s independent to the hotel, is covered in another review. The hotel is situated just 50m from the beach and affords you free access to the beach loungers which are otherwise charged at 75 SCR per day (c.a. 2€). The beach itself is superb, very clean and not overly crowded. There’s a good amount of marine life that can be found such as sting rays, hammerhead sharks and a multitude of fish so a good spot for snorkelling. The beach has a gentle gradient meaning it’s great for kids or those who are not used to being in the sea. On the second night, we headed down the beach to a nearby restaurant for dinner. On the third night, we were hoping to head back to the Cafe des Arts, however it was closed (routine). Instead we gave the hotel’s buffet a try which turned out to be surprisingly good (I’m generally not a fan of buffet food) with a great selection of tasty Creole dishes. The drinks service was also top notch. There was a live band with dancers who moved amongst the diners, encouraging people to come up and dance. During dinner the manager, and owner, worked his way through the restaurant to introduce himself and chat to the guests and get feedback on our stay, a really nice touch. I learned that the hotel has been family owned and run for some 17 years and hires only local people. Having grown up around the business, Robert has a keen focus on keeping things modern and informed us that they are closing this winter (European winter) to renovate some of the rooms and the common areas, something which they like to do regularly. Robert is clearly passionate about what he does and has a great vision. This sealed the deal that we had chosen a great hotel and is definitely somewhere we’d come back to. Breakfast was consistently good with a great selection of local dishes, fresh fruit and continental options. Checkout was very smooth, however due to my own fault, I had thought that checkin was an hour later than it was. This wasn’t a big deal as we checked out, then enjoyed a leisurely breakfast whilst waiting for Wils to collect us and drive us back to the airport where we’d fly back to Mahe for the next part of our holiday. There are also a few small stores within walking distance where you can purchase beers / wine / water / snacks / clothes.
