"What a scenery!"
Wow, such a nice stay. We arrived after a long day in the car from Mt.Bromo and this was so nice. Enjoyed the pool with the beautiful scenery, had a nice dinner and slept good (not long, because for Ijen you have to rise early). Afterwards we came back for a nice breakfast and some more landscape viewing. Recommended!
"A cul de sac hidden gem"
As the car drove through a narrow steep road, I started to wonder where it is going to end up. It all was dark. But then when I finally reached the resort, it was more picturesque than I've imagined. The night sky was full with stars. The surrounding is lush with green and yellow of terrace paddy. I was lucky to have a room near the lobby facing the paddy field. Other rooms are too far or to close to the restaurant and pool. Well, there are bugs in the evening, but as long as you keep the door closed, it will be just fine. The room is spacious with antique furniture. The weather is nice so no need for air conditioning. The bathroom is unique with no doors hence if you travling in groups you'll face privacy issue. The hotel is quite old yet well maintained. It offers tranquility and true experience of locals daily life. I love to watch the farmers mend their paddy field. I have my lunch at a very nice warung just 600 meters from the hotel. Definitely a place worth to stay at.
"Nice Place close to Kawah Ijen"
I had been there during Christmas holiday, location: close with Paltuding (Kawah Ijen) about 30 mins, breakfast: fried rice and toast, but there are some other menus and price is fair. Room is clean but a bit dusty. But house keeping do not quite well since they did not clean trash and used plate. They have nice garden. Overall i like this place around Kawah Ijen area.
"The finest resort in Banyuwangi"
Despite its location which is quite far and having to pass narrow and bumpy road, but this resort is really worth the trip. It's located perfectly on top of a hill where we can view the majestic mountains (Ijen crater) and lush rice fields right in front of our room. They are soothing to the eyes, really. Having heard no music but only natural sounds of water's flowing on the creek, the crickets and birds are worth more than millions. The room and bathroom are clean and spacious (we stay on room 102). The service are superb. Miss Echa who assists us on tour and driver arrangement works really well. She was constantly calling us to check where we were and kindly assisted us in the middle of the night when we came from 8 hours drive from Surabaya after being redirected from direct flight to Banyuwangi, thanks to our beloved airline company. Mr. Edy who was the F.O at the time also called us few times. We really feel appreciated and grateful for their hospitality. The driver who takes us to Kawah Wurung, Baluran and soon Jawatan Benculuk is also a great driver. The warm service is commonly found in this resort. Everyone greets us sincerely and helpful to all of our needs. The breakfast is delish and has appropriate variations. All of the menu we have ordered nothing has been disappointing. From milk shake, spaghetti to soto ayam (chicken yellow soup), french fries to banana fritters. Excellent presentation and taste. Most of the ingredients are home-made and produced locally, as I heard. Always love this kind of idea! And as Muslims, we really feel at home hearing the sound of adzan every praying time. This cannot be paid with anything except Allah's blessing. My husband and our bigger kids are on the Ijen crater now and I can't wait for their pictures and stories inshaa Allah. Thank you Ijen Villas for making us feel really homey in this hidden paradise of the earth!
"Just not what you would expect at the end of the bumpy road to the hotel!"
As you bump along an almost unmade road to this hotel you could be forgiven for thinking you're going to stay in a mud hut. It is actually a mind blowing place to stay, especially if you get the right room. I had one with great views across the rice field towards the volcano, with palm trees and other amazing plants gracing the scene. I had a nice terrace outside my room which was great to sit on. The room was nice too and I had my very own tokay gecko in situ - which I found great, albeit a little noisy when he let rip. This hotel gives a real feeling of being in middle of the jungle. If you don't mind things being a little rustic, you'll love this place and the friendly service.
