"Unexpected surprise "
The hotel ambiance and views were stunning! The room has wonderful beds with soft pillows, allowing a good rest. The shower was good and had hot water. When I was getting heady to sleep I was surprised by a mice coming down from inside the wardrobe. Try to chase it with my eyes, then when looked under the table I found another little friend, a frog.. Saw the mice running again to under the bad, then I lost it. They changed our room. Everything was okay, but it makes me wonder if their plague control really works.. The breakfast wasn't a buffet, what not the ideal for tourists in my opinion.. Although the breakfast options were satisfying. The crew was really nice and supportive.
"Nice Place - But Tries too Hard"
We really enjoyed the view, and the rooms are perfectly comfortable. The hotel really let us down with arranging transportation, they sent a driver who could not communicate drive time, or when we would eat, really he/the hotel provided no information at all in regards to the travel. What was supposed to be a 5-6 hour drive turned into 10-11. Understandably we would not expect much in the language department, but your basic words should have been easy - for instance how long (while tapping a watch, pointing at a clock and shrugging our shoulders, was met with further confusion. The other gripe was with the restaurant, the food was edible, but tried a bit too hard to be fancy (my rice doesn't need a banana leaf hat) Overall the rooms, view and staff where very pleasant. We would still come back and have no issue recommending the hotel to other visitors.
"Location was lovely"
Our first impressions were very good after the rough and narrow road. The hotel has all amenities a balcony and fridge with beer and coke. There were limited plug sockets for recharging batteries. The outside toilet and shower took a bit of getting used too so was querky. but there was some cover so you did not get wet when it rained. The setting is beautiful with great views of the volcanoes and the staff were very good. The food all included in our trip was all buffets and sometimes a bit spicy for us but it was good and there was a choice even eggs cooked fresh at breakfasts which is always a plus. The breakfast box was very good with eggs and cheese. better than some hotels.
"Lovely grounds and beautiful location"
The view of the paddy fields and surrounding countryside from the swimming pool is absolutely amazing. The hotel itself is very comfortable, clean and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Food was good, although I think we would have preferred a few more authentic and spicier dishes on the menu. Access to the hotel is along a very bumpy track but it was being improved when we were there. Rooms were large and well-equipped.
"Practical stopover for one night"
The hotel has a fantastic location: surrounded by paddy fields at the end of a (bumpy) track. It is really peaceful and the grounds are beautiful. There is also a small pool. The accommodation is of a reasonable standard but the walls are thin, or our neighbours were loud! You will have to sit in the reception area or restaurant to access wifi. The food was presented as buffet style and was OK, but nothing special. We had an early checkout due to visiting Mount Ijen and picked up a breakfast box on departure - one of more substantial ones we had during our trip. We had lunch in the warung in the village 400m from the hotel and really enjoyed the food so suggest others think about it as a dining option. The stay here wasn't the highlight of our trip but we did not see much alternative accommodation in the area so moved on feeling content.
