"Amazing, wish we had more than one night!"

We stayed here for 1 night and it was my favorite hotel of our tour of India. The hotel is an old factory with some of the parts from the factory integrated into the hotels design. It's just amazing! You're greeted with seeds a welcome drink and friendly smiles, we were then taken to our upgraded room which had windows on both sides and beautiful decoration on the bed. The room is clean and cozy with a heater due to the weather being colder in Nuwara Eliya. As you sit in your room the occasional low clouds will come by which is just magical! We eat in the train carriage outside and the food was fantastic, well worth the money and the waiter really made the experience special! This hotel is a great place to relax with fantastic staff, they're always there and willing to tell you the history of the hotel without prompt. I wish we had another night here!

"Great break during trip"

Stayed for 2 nights with my partner and mum. I had been to the hotel 2 years earlier and wanted my mum to see the place because I knew she would love it. She did. You get what you expect and pay for. With the higher cost comes professional service, comfortable rooms and lovely views. The restaurant was fantastic with a great selection of local food with a few other options. I highly recommend the carriage dinner. The cost is well worth the quality of food and the experience. The hotel is definitely for people looking for those extra comforts. Definitely above the sort of place we would usually stay, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wifi free of charge and available in rooms. We did the tea picking which was a bit of fun. I made use of the spa for a massage too. I recommend treating yourself. It's worth it. Room tip - we were on the 1st floor with a balcony that looked out over the terrace and tea plantation. Not many rooms have balconies and it was a lovely extra on top of an already great room.

"Loved it "

We loved this place . It is definitely the best hotel we have stayed at so far . The staff were superb and especially Nuwan who looks after you in an actual train carriage restaurant . Make sure you book in advance . The views are stunning and gets you away from town which doesn't have that much to do . Grand hotel ok but busy with tourist coaches . This place is easily the best .

"Great location & service...food could be better!"

The hotel is has breathtaking views to offer. It has an old world charm and the service is great. We visited for a family lunch and the welcoming staff had organized a nice birthday cake for my son's birthday. We enjoyed the garden, kids play area and admired an old train coach kept in the garden. The five course meal, however, was disappointing. The soup and deserts were great but the main course seemed stale!! The wine too was sour and had to send back one of the three bottles we got. May visit again for the scenic location and service. Maybe for tea, but will definitely avoid food!!

"The most amazing Christmas ever!"

We arrived at this beautify restored conversion from an old tea factory to a wonderful hotel on Christmas Eve, expecting a quiet couple of days. To our amazement the management and staff put on Christmas Eve dinner with 7 courses, wine, carols and Santa. What a wonderful night! We would highly recommend the Heritance to anyone wanting a break during their Sri Lankan holiday.
