"Good hotel "
Good hotel centrally located to great viewing spots in the tea estates. Food is above average and staff are wonderful. It IS a tad on the pricey side and just bear that in mind when you eat the dinner buffet. Steer clear of pork - fatty.
"This place is a must"
We stayed two nights, it was the last place we went to on our wonderful trip to Sri Lanka and what a place. The views are spectacular. The hotel is so different being a converted tea factory. It really is so quirky. The staff were so lovely. Cannot fault the food. The rooms are not modern but they are in style with the whole building and very comfortable. We did the nature trail and it was so much fun especially visiting the nursery the kids were so sweet. We also went tea picking which we loved. You learn so much about tea. There were a lot of people just staying one night but I recommend you stay the two otherwise you do not get the time to do the things we did. It does get cold so be prepared, it is a shock when you have spent time in other parts where it is so hot.
"Stunning stay in lovingly converted tea factory"
My husband and I stayed for two nights at this gorgeous converted tea factory. We drove directly from Colombo which with traffic turned out to be an eight hour drive after a 10 hour flight from London which won't be for everyone. We'd had the choice of whether to stay a night in Colombo first and had decided to do it all in one go, but anyone travelling straight on should be prepared for a very long journey indeed. Once we arrived our warm greeting of tea, cool towels and delicious dinner made it well worth the journey. The staff were all very attentive and couldn't do more to make our stay special. The food was fantastic and the views of the tea plantations from your window are beautiful - at 2km above sea level you are quite literally in the clouds. Can't recommend it more - we'd love to come back.
"Had the exact room from the picture"
WOW, brought an end to a fantastic holiday. Final night of our 7 night tour with car and driver was spent here. Drizzle and gloom all night however the food was the best in Sri Lanka in my opinion and the service was outstanding.
"Great hotel but could be better."
We spent two nights here as part of a tour of Siri Lanka. The hotel is unusual in being an old tea factory but it has been well converted and provided a restful place to stay in what was a hectic schedule. Indeed one of the highlights of our trip was provided here as we were able to secure a table in the railway dining car which turned out to be a magical experience if more expensive than the main restaurant. As a tip if you want to eat here I would recommend booking a table in advance of your arrival. It is remote but the hotel does lay on activities to keep, you occupied during your stay. We were unlucky during our stay as it rained almost non stop so not possible to really partake in outdoor activities. The constant rainfall also meant it was cold and this is where the problem lay. The hotel does provide heating in the rooms and under normal circumstances this would suffice but the heating notwithstanding the room and in particular the bathroom were uncomfortable chilly. This did impinge on the quality of our sleep on one night. It also has to be said that the public parts were also not the warmest albeit the hotel had wood burners in reception and the bar. This is a hotel to be enjoyed but you need to be suitably prepared if the weather is not of the best we were but it still took us by surprise.
