"Very good experience!"

We stayed for one night. It is an old tea factory. Very good decoration and view. Delicious breakfast and dinner. We joined tea plugging and nature walk activities. Both were very very good. After tea plugging tour they gave us two package of "organic tea" as souvenir. It was really very very good tea,we liked it too much. Only negative thing about this hotel is the price. It could be a little bit cheeper.

"Loved it"

Quirky, great service, proper bar and decent food. By fluke I for one of the three rooms with a terrace. Comfy beds. Decor and kit is from when the factory was turned into a hotel. Ok the bathrooms aren’t the slickest in the world but everything worked. The weather comes in at alarming rate here and it rains and gets misty. Best managed hotel I stayed in out of 11 hotels around Sri Lanka.

"Hope to visit again !"

Visited on 15/2/2018 - We arrived at 1am at the airport and organised for a driver Guide to take us to the different locations. Having driven straight from airport to the Heritance Tea Factory hotel ( took us ~ 6 hours ) the drive at some points were a bit hairy, but by the end of the trip we got used to the driving style, the views were spectacular, with the sunrise the mist ,the tea pickers on the hills, and the steep winding roads. We arrived at 9:30 am and were welcomed at the hotel by the staff who were amazing with their hospitality Even though we were early for the check-in the staff did everything to make us as comfortable as possible and organised an upgraded suite . There are a few activities to do and see organised at the Hotel, The Nature walk was excellent in the morning about 2 hours , quite hilly, so makes for a good workout The guide was very knowledgeable and very informative , would recommend this for anyone visiting, although ground can be a bit slippery on hills if wet. The other activities Tea picking , Tea grading and tasting , were all very interesting and more personal than the tours at the other Tea plantations ( which were packed with tour busses). Well worth the small additional cost. The facilities at the hotel were excellent and the staff all very friendly and amenable Our rooms were comfortable and luxurious , with breathtaking views. (on a clear day) I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sri Lanka on a holiday , It would be perfect for a quiet relaxing break, while being pampered by the very friendly staff.

"Best Hotel in Nuwara Eliya!"

It's all about the courtesy of the staff, great location and great food. The ambiance is beyond amazing! At first we were hesitant as it was a little pricey than other hotels, but once we reached the hotel, we were thrilled for the service we got and the location. If you travel to Nuwara Eliya, never miss a chance to stay at Heritance Tea Factory!

"A splendid Hotel and a fine example of what can be done converting a closed Tea Factory to a hotel"

This is an historic building converted into an iconic hotel. Full credit to everyone involved and their foresight. Now future tourists can stay at this hotel in its splendid location and superb views. Very relaxing and so enjoyable. It should be definitely on your list to stay at least three nights. Ideally situated for the excursion to Horton Plains as well. Many old historical photographs to see in the reception area and around the hotel and in the basement. The original lift is still there and which the guests use. It runs so smoothly and efficiently and it is years old. We stayed here for three night in an Executive Room on the fourth floor No. 412 and we were extremely pleased with room. We are touring Sri Lanka and this is the fourth hotel we have stopped at, and so far we rate this the most enjoyable. The rooms are not luxurious, they are not large, there is no air conditioning (not needed), the bathroom is quite small, BUT IT MAKES YOU FEEL REALLY COMFORTABLE AND HOMELY. A lovely view as well over the tea plantations. We were on bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast has very good choice and quality. We did not participate in the buffet dinner nor the fine dining as after a large breakfast we ate again mid afternoon in the Bar lounge where they serve a full menu, including fish and chips, yes in Sri Lanka, and the fish was excellent. Service by the management and staff was excellent throughout our stay, and everyone were always so helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble, and they make every effort to ensure you are well satisfied. The Hotel provide two excellent excursions which you should not miss. The early morning (6.30am) nature and birdlife, plus the tea plantations last two hours and the guide is very informative as well. The other is the Tea Picking where you are dressed as traditional tea pickers and you pick under their experience picker for around 20 minutes, followed by seeing how the processing is done. Great fun and you will really enjoy. If you like Spa treatments then do not miss out on having a treatment here. This hotel has an excellent Balinese Spa, and the Balinese Spa Manager, Julia and the therapists are all really experienced therapists working here under contract from Bali. They have been taught in the Professional School in Bali from which therapists work all over the world and are far ahead and better than most others. Their deep tissue treatments and firm pressure massages are unique, and their more relaxing massages again far ahead and better than most others. Strangely the Hotel does in my view not promote this Spa as good as it could. The spa Itself is very pleasant in the basement, and at certain times two of their staff are standing in the reception area, and can answer questions or take bookings, IF YOU SEE THEM, - Far better if there was a desk with promotional literature to bring attention to this facility. I met Julia, the spa manager, by chance standing there and immediately was pleased with her response and attitude and lovely personality. Julia speaks excellent English and has been at this hotel for 8 years and is fully qualified as a therapist as well. With her was Mita one of her Balinese therapists and again speaks good English and has three years experience, plus a very good personality which immediately puts you at ease. I then booked a treatment with Mita and a second one after experiencing the first treatment. On my tour of Sri Lanka all the hotels have Balinese Spa’s and therapists and they have all been very good. Mita was no exception and I can thoroughly recommend booking a treatment with her. I have no doubt the other therapists will be just as good, but I was so pleased with my first treatment I stayed with Mita for my second one. Finally take advantage of buying some tea here. At breakfast they seem to give you a different one each day. We like ours either as it is or with lemon, lime or ginger. The Peko tea was just to our taste. A great stay here, and we would not hesitate to return. And if the management read this, please pass on my thanks and appreciation to Julia and Mita, and also to your guide, whose name fails meat this moment, who took us on the 6.30am nature and birdlife tour. They and all your staff are a real credit and asset to yo ur hotel.
