"Staying in the heart of Saigon"
I stayed in Sheraton Saigon for 3 nights and it was a good choice as the location is in the center of the city. We can walk distance to some tourist places like the Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica, the Post Office, Opera House, War Museum and the famous Banh Tanh Market. But if you want to feel like locals, you can book a city sighseeing at withlocals.com and choose Anh as your host, you will not feel like sheis a tour guide but your old friend and take you to the places I have mentioned above just like the local people do. The room in thishotel is spacious and the view from my room at night was cool, looks like Saigon is the city of light from my window. The hotel staff in Sheraton Saigon are so friendly and always smile, what I love the most when staying in a hotel because we always expect hospitality, like most of vietnamese, they are friendly. If you dont feel like you wanna spend your night going out, just go to the 23rd floor, the hotel has a roof top bar which is quiet cool, the bartender also friendly and will make any drinks you order even it is not in the menu 😊. For more quite dinner, go to next door of the bar, you may make a reservation first to get the table near the window so you have romantic view during your dinner. Their wellness floor at 5th provided gym, swimming pool, healthy menu cafe and spa, if you love to do sport activity or just pampering your self you will love to go to 5th floor everyday. I should also inform that Ho Ci Minh city famous with Cu Chi Tunnel, if you do not want to join any tour, you can grab a taxi to go there, but you should ask the taxi driver to wait for you to take you back to the city because the tunnel is 1.5 hours away from the city. I rate this hotel a 5 stars, for the location and facilities and the staff hospitality. If you planned your next trip to Saigon, please consider to stay in Sheraton Saigon. You are going to feel like home. *****
"Vietnam June 2017"
I stayed in room 1583, which had a nice city outlook. Good quality room, which was quiet. I however had to pay extra (USD 85) for breakfast & wifi. The speed of the wifi was great. Will recommend this hotel to fellow business travellers.
We had a bug problem at cavalier hotel and had to move to sheraton. This is a 5 stars hotel. Not only for the hitel instalations but because of the way the personel took care of my family. Thank you so much. Hope to be able to go again.
"Good hotel although a little dated."
The rooms are quite old fashioned and need modernising. They were however clean, with a good service and a great breakfast. I spent a short time by the pool with a cocktail, and even though the hotel is in a very built-up area it did feel relaxing and peaceful.
"A few bumps "
I stayed at this hotel for a work trip. It is very conveniently located to many wonderful sights, sounds, and restaurants. I walked to the Binh Tay market and Pastuer street. Great location. The hotel is currently under renovation. I stayed in a room that has not been renovated. The rooms was clean and the staff kept it well stocked and tidy for me. Lots of free bottle of water! Thank you. The room did smell a little musky and the air con seemed to be struggling but hopefully those are things of the past after the renovation. The gym was decent. I was able to use the pool to lap swim and there is a sauna in the locker room that worked great. Here are the bumps: 1. While I was in the sauna which is located inside the ladies locker room, a male staff member came in and opened the sauna door which neither he or I was expecting to see each other. I was in my swim suit, luckily. He was trying to give a tour of the facilities. He of course apologized a lot. You have to sign in to mark which areas you will use which I did and I had a key checked out to my room for a locker so I am not sure why any male staff was in the locker room. Recommendation: check the paperwork that is required to be completed to know if people are using the facilities before entering the locker room. 2. After a morning swim, I realized I hadn't given myself time to sit down to eat breakfast before I had to start my work day. I went to the breakfast restaurant and requested to take away a yogurt cup and a hard boiled egg. (Breakfast is included in my room). I was told no that only pastry could be taken away. I explained I can't eat bread and the yogurt cup and hard boiled egg still take away without any inconvenience. I was still given a hard time and was turned away without any viable solution. 2 days later a member of management apologized for the inconvenience but he still didn't seem to understand that the items I wanted were take away on their own and would not be a bother to the staff. Recommendation: listen to the request before saying no. If an alternate accommodation needs to be made that's not a big difference from current policy then it should be ok to let it be. Flexibility is key. 3. Wifi is spotty. And you will be limited to 3 devices. If your on business trip this can be a challenge. A member of the staff at the front desk, Mr. Tran Hong Thanh was truly amazing. I was having issues getting the wifi to work on my laptop midway through my stay. He connected with IT and even sat with me at the lobby area while we waited to get a fix. He was with me for about 30 min or so while we worked through the issues. He then increased my number of devices allowed to accommodate my additional needs.
