Over Arenal Paraiso

"Friendly staff and Beautiful grounds"
The staff here is VERY friendly and helpful. There are multiple natural hot springs on site varying in temperatures from pretty hot to mildly warm. Don't pack a white suit, as the minerals will stain it yellow. My family and I spent a lot of time in the wet bar, where the kids swam around while my husband and I had a cocktail and enjoyed delicious bar food. There is also a VERY cold traditional swimming pool, if you're looking to cool off and have a swim. The restaurant on site has delicious buffet options and the menu for lunch and dinner is extensive and delicious (and expensive). We stayed in a "Superior" room which was pretty basic. Front porch with 2 rocking chairs, small fridge, 2 queen beds close together, and an off site bathroom. We did have air conditioning, but the wifi from the reception area was not strong enough to reach our room. Cozy room with basic amenities. The hotel offers lots of activities to plan for you, if interested (zip lining, horseback riding, etc.) so no need to go somewhere else to plan. The hotel is located outside La Fortuna (the local town) by 10 minutes and $15 (each way) in a taxi. There is a resident sloth that lives in the tree just outside of the restaurant. So, that's fun! HIGHLIGHTS: Excellent staff, yummy food, and lots of hot springs on site!!
"Best of Costa Rica with Road Scholar"
Arsenal Paraiso resort is outstanding. Great location to activities such as zip lining and walking through the rain forest. Cabin are built with spacious gorgeous wood rooms and have a lovely porch and rockers. The warm springs were relaxing. The lodge is lovely and food plentiful and decent.
Arenal Paraiso is a beautifully landscaped, tidy resort with charming individual cabins, a few km outside town. Rooms are impeccably clean. Lobby staff was always helpful. The food in the on-site restaurant was sub-standard and warrants the $10 cab ride to go into town for food.
Every room/cottage has a fantastic view of the Arenal Volcano, the grounds are well kept, lush and beautiful, the thermal water pools are very relaxing, they have approximately 5 different pools with different termperatures raging from 40 to 26 degree celcius...there is a pool bar and also a regular cold water pool (pool towels and lockers included). The breakfast is delicious and includes typical dishes such as pinto (rice with black beans). It is a very peaceful and beautiful resort, I only stayed for one night, wish I would have stayed for longer!! I even had the chance to see a sloth bear hanging on a tree near the pool!! I will definitely recommend this place and will come back. Notes to other travelers: thermal waters are high in mineral content and are supposed to look murky (that does not mean the water is dirty); you are in the mountains in a tropical country so expect some bugs and animals in the sorrundings, this is their habitat; it is a family friendly resort, hence there will be children around; they have thermal water POOLS, which means they are man made and the thermal water is diverted from its original source to the resort pools, if you want experience a natural spring, there are other options in Arenal outside the resorts, do your research.
"Best views, spacious cottages and hot springs"
Our stay here was pleasant. The rooms are spacious, the restaurant has good food and multiple activities right in the hotel - hot springs, zip lining and sloths on the trees. The hot springs was a big plus right in the hotel we would unwind after all the adventure activities with a drink soaking in the hot springs.
