"The Highlight of Our Trip to Panama"

   24-02-2017
After three days in Panama City, I was ready to jump on the next flight home. But, luckily we stayed the course and Las Lajas Beach Resort was a delightful spot. Beautiful grounds, good food, lovely room, helpful staff, and right on a 22 mile long beach. Oh, and a pool and hammocks. We had no reason to leave the grounds for our entire stay. So far, it's the only spot I've found worth while in Panama!

"Peaceful and laidback."

   07-02-2017
We stayed there with our five kids. The staff was great and caring. Of all the places we stopped in Panama, it was my husband favorite spot. The beach is huge and you can walk for miles without seeing anyone. The rooms aren't luxurious but really spacious and clean. We ate at the restaurant a few times and the food was good. If you like small peaceful places, it is for you. If you are looking for lots of entertainment, I recommend looking elsewhere.

"Stunning, huge, amazingly beach"

   22-01-2017
This was my 2nd trip here, and this time we were able to spend over 2 days and nights. My grown daughter could not believe the immense beach (almost 1000 feet wide at low tide.). Plus the pacific is as warm as a warm bath and a swimmers delight with its long shallow slope. We delighted in watching up to flights of 60 pelicans coasting along the shore. One can walk for miles in either direction and see fee if any other people. The hotel and resort have a very good breakfast , and we loved the seafood for dinner, while right on the beach to watch the fantastic sunsets. The resort also has a small pool and super friendly staff. It only has two short single story wings of rooms, so a reservation is wise. A stay here will be a highlight of any visit to Panama.

"Little piece of Panamanian paradise."

   20-01-2017
Located right on the beach, it's a perfect getaway as it is secluded with miles of open, flat Pacific beach. The rooms are clean, the bar & restaurant is a great gathering place and the swimming pool is awesome. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would have stayed for several more days but our itinerary wouldn't allow...delightful one night stay!

"Registered Guests ONLY!"

   17-01-2017
Having lived in Panama for 8 years, I have enjoyed the beach resort many times and know what to expect. My new bride and I were just married in Colombia and were driving back to Chiriqui when she asked me to stop at the beach. We were close to Las Lajas Beach Resort and I decided to stop in for a walk on the beach and some lunch. We were called to by the gal in the office as we walked into the resort entrance. She asked us what we were doing. A bit stunned at the abruptness of her question, I told her we wanted to have lunch. She stated the restaurant was closed and would only be open to "registered guests". I explained that we were not looking for a room and it was clear the parking lot was full. We only wanted lunch or perhaps a drink at the bar so I could show my new bride the property and walk on the beach. The receptionist replied that since we were not "registered guests" we were not allowed on the property at all !! I repeated my statement that we were not looking for a room but merely wanting to see the property and get a drink while we waiting for the restaurant to open. With a big grin she shook her head and said NO, only REGISTERED GUESTS. To say were were offended is to put it mildly. I have often stopped in for lunch/dinner or a drink when in the area. In fact, in the past you could use the pool for a fee without having a room for the night. The restaurant and bar were always available to the public. Now, with my new bride in tow, wanting to show her a Panama beach and toast a cocktail at the bar - we are told we are "NOT ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY". So, since I was not permitted to talk to anyone else about this absurd policy and incredibly rude receptionist, I am posting it here. Our visit was January 15, 2017 at about noon. After the years I have visited, stayed in both the regular rooms and suite upstairs, spent my money in the restaurant and bar and brought others... after all of that, I am not permitted to even walk around the property for a few moments to show my new bride the place. I expected better and will find another place that can be courteous and welcoming for me and my guests. Las Lajas Beach Resort will not have to worry about me being on the property again. There are plenty of ways to enter the beach and other places of service.
