Diani Beach is een fantastisch, poederwit privé-strand. De comfortabele kamers liggen in het centrale deel van het hotel en worden omgeven door de verschillende faciliteiten. Er is keuze uit drie restaurants. Als het Maharaja thema-avond is, dan eet u geheel in stijl aan lange tafels. Er zijn een groot zwembad en een geweldige spa. Wilt u een balletje slaan, dan is er op 500 meter van het resort een golfbaan, maar u kunt ook tennissen of squashen. Aan watersportmogelijkheden geen gebrek, u kunt duiken, windsurfen, snorkelen, zeilen en varen.

Mombasa, gelegen op een eiland van 13 km², ligt voor de kust van Oost-Afrika. Met een miljoen inwoners is het qua grootte de tweede stad van Kenia, maar het traditionele karakter van het centrum is behouden gebleven. De grootste attractie is Fort Jesus; het ligt bij de haven en werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd door de Portugezen in 1593. Het is tegenwoordig een museum.



"Terrible Experience"

I would give this hotel a one star. Even after booking for accomadation more than a month in advance I was shocked that no arrangement was made for a smooth checking. There was no one to welcome guests at the reception and I had to remind the receptionist to fas track our check in which took more than half an hour. Going to the rooms they were too small and the bed for my baby had not been brought yet. The shower was not working and the taps was running in drips. The problem was sorted around midnight and not before I had called 3 times and made a lot of noise. The following day the house keeper put only one soap and did not change some of the towels. The bathroom floor was also not wiped. During dinner time 2 guests engaged in a fight while the hotel staff were just watching and to make it worse the victim was ejected for the dining hall. Talk of the animal farm. The night of ushering the new year had a pathetic MC who was boring to say the least. There was no count down to the new year and we only noticed when the fireworks began. 2 hours into the new year and the music was being closed down. The bar was also closed down while guests were stil drinking. There was generally no value for my money and I dont think I can ever go back there or recommend anyone to go there.

The Entire property needs a big time refurbishment. It is run down and poorly managed. The rooms are horrible and small. We were sold a standard room as a triple and there is noway a triple can fit, plus an extra bed was never put for us. The mattress was worn out and flimsy, you could hear the springs every time you would turn. The pillows again were awful. The bath tub and curtain were gross and filthy. The ceiling is rotten and the tiles have moulds. Not very hygiene for a bathroom. House keeping would not clean the rooms properly and would not turn up until later in the day. Even when cleaned the room floors were moped and left soaking wet, that if not careful you could easily slip. When we checked in our fridge & kettle were both not working also the AC was not working. They managed to get those fixed and had promised to change the rooms for us the next day, which was another story all together. We were told to pack our bags at around 2 pm at the reception and that within half an hour someone would come collect our luggage and we would move rooms. We must have gone to the reception several times asking that no one had come to take our luggage and what was happening. Every time they said just now someone is coming just now. It was 6:30 pm by than and we just had enough of there stories. We refused to leave the reception without someone to assist in changing the rooms. We finally got someone and started moving our luggage only to get to the room and find out it was exactly the same room, again very filthy and on the 5th floor which is such a long way up. You can only imagine how awful it was especially with one toddler and one infant. We refused to move and just decided to stay in our original room. To be honest at this stage we were just too exhausted and did not want to ruin the remaining of our holiday. They had already wasted our entire day. It just happened to be peak season and it was full everywhere, otherwise we would have moved to another resort without any doubt. The resort clearly knew we were not happy with everything and even after our complaining and all the hassle. The staff were not apologetic at all nor did they try to make any amends for us, instead carried on as if nothing had happened and seemed not bothered. We are also from the tourism industry and understand that is is difficult to please everyone. However how they managed everything was just not acceptable. The food was also of poor quality and it took 3 hours for them to prepare our lunch. They were not at all helpful with children meals. We spend most of our day just on the beach out of the fifty rooms, all our dinners outside the resort at some very nice restaurants. I can carry on with complains but I will stop here. It is a shame to face such service in today’s time with such competition in the market. I highly do not recommend this resort especially families with children. I wouldn’t refer this resort to anyone and certainly would not send my guests here.

"Dianis worst Nightmare"

Expectations and hopes crushed! Even after reading reviews I still had hope for Diani reef beach resort. Seeing is believing. My first stay was back in 2009 my experience was impeccable and my return was inevitable. From The rooms, the Theme nights, the kids club everything was on point. The hotel had just won the Amarula awards. My return this year was disappointing to say the least. I booked and immediately committed to stay 7 nights with my family. Even though the rates are steep, I make sure my annual family holiday is not compromised. We make sure comfort comes first. Upon my arrival, my rooms were not yet ready. I requested to see the rooms, to my shock I walked into run down beddings and furniture and a stained washroom. Staying at this hotel was not an option. I expressed my needs to the Guest manager who referred me to the resevations manager who also referred me the General Manager Mr Pravin. After 2 hours of back and forth discussions the GM decides to show up. A young arrogant man who could care less about what his core business of customer service is. My payment of USD 4,000 is going down the drain. No solution to my problem from all heads. They said they would issue me a credit note which is a dilemma as I don’t think I ever want to come back. Perhaps a different approach or a different GM would have convinced my family and I to stay. I also found out there were plenty of rooms available. For now my Question still stands as will I ever get my money back????? Diani reef you have lost a true fan!

"Amazing experience!!"

We checked in 24th December upto 28th and had an amazing time with my boys!! I particularly love the fact that Dinner was always at a different location, and the food was very good! Never boring, always tantalizing & fresh! My boys enjoyed every moment swimming & the beach was clean. Everyone in the hotel is friendly and always ready to help, the hotel manager is reachable and very nice, always ready to help. The waiters and chefs are very good. I had an amazing experience at Diani Reef and I would highly recommend it. The food was the best part of this holiday...... AMAZING....

"Good Experience"

I stayed at Diani Reef as i attended a conference at the neighboring Leisure Lodge. My colleagues were quite happy that host hotel was fully booked and we got a chance to stay in Diani Reef. Great surprise. The amenities, the beach and food were impressive. We had quite a good time at the pool bar. The rooms were clean and well maintained. I presume it was low season as sections of the hotel were closed, which is a great shame as I think the property has so much potential. Unfortunately we were away most of the time at the conference but I would definitely go back for a family vacation.
