This hotel and the staff are absolutely amazing. We have returned again and stayed again at this hotel because we rate it so highly. Hotel is an old colonial and is amazing and we got collected at the airport in a vintage Citroen with a bottle of champagne - what an amazing way to start a holiday. Anyone thinking of visiting this area should stay at Victorla
Our recent stay was very enjoyable. Staff extremely helpful and courteous. Food standard and variety excellent. Location good. Pool facilities of very high standard with attentive staff. Overall a very enjoyable visit.
"A warm and friendly hotel. With high standards"
We have visited many hotels in different countries and this hotel was the best. When we arrived in our tut tut it looked so warm and friendly. Felt that we had stepped back in time, with the vintage cars out the front. Received a very warm welcoming which continued throughout our stay. We made use of the complimentary bikes and time was given to us with showing what best routes to take. The swimming pool was perfect, size and a lovely salt water pool. Excellent care around the pool with drinks and food offered. Lovely touches with our beds being turned down at night, with a chocolate and short story left in our rooms. Fresh water and towels daily. All staff very friendly and accommodating.
Stayed for 2 nights. Room was comfortable and bright. We were overlooking the beautiful salt water pool and had a small balcony. The breakfast was excellent and we had a dinner in the hotel restaurant. It was small but the food and the service was very good. Hotel service (bellhops etc) was very good and friendly. The pool was beautifully laid out. It is really hot and humid there and so refreshing to have a swim in the late afternoon. The architecture of the hotel is very interesting. I especially liked the courtyard running between the two hallways of the main corridor of the hotel. There are mosquitoes everywhere so you have to be vigilant to keep them out of the room. They do provide a repellant that you plug in. Not sure how effective it is. My wife reacts badly to mosquitoes and she did not get any bites in the room. Interesting park across the street that has large bats hanging in the trees. I am not sure if the location is good for city exploration as we just went to Angkor Wat for the day. However, there is a mini market around back that has all the snacks and drinks you may need and takes US dollars and gives back US dollars. Overall, I liked it very much.
"Splendid Hotel – Happy and Attentive Staff"
My wife and I arrived at Siem Reap airport and even though our flight was 1 hour 45 minutes late and it took us over an hour to get through the airport, our pick up from the hotel was waiting for us. We got to the hotel, cold towels, water and an easy check in with a welcome drink. We were escorted to one of two lifts and shown how to use it, we got in – easy to use – loved the old fashion double doors - only big enough for two people with luggage – up to the second floor and taken to our room. We were told about the hotel and facilities by the lady who was escorting us. Our room was excellent, clean, fresh and nicely furnished in colonial style. We had plenty of space and couldn’t fault it. It had fans and air con which allowed proper control of temperature on some very hot days. We went for a walk around the hotel, the décor of the hotel is in keeping with its old colonial style, nice ponds and gardens down the centre of the hotel (there is a corodile), the bar had indoor and outdoor seating as did the restaurant (air con inside), the pool is a big enough pool area and is overlooked partly by the bar and restaurant and the foyer has adequate seating and a shop. This hotel is really large, it is not until you walk right around the second floor that you realise just how big it is. There is a park outside the hotel with the King’s residence across the road from the top right corner, Raffles is across the road from the top left corner. When we were here the King was coming to town and all the school children were lining the road with pictures and flags. I was chased out of the park by Police as they close the park when the King is in town. The hotel is about 7-10 minutes from Pub Street by Tuk Tuk and cost us $3-5us. Our first night here was Valentine’s Day and we were left a gift at turn down, a wrapped soap love heart in a red box, which was a nice touch. We ate Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at different times at the restaurant. The breakfast was served at the restaurant and was excellent. Service was A1 from very well trained and friendly staff. The breakfast had all the, what I call usual, breakfast items. Egg bar for eggs and omelet cooked by up to 3 chefs, cereal station – 6 cereals – 3 types of milk, make your own specialty tea, 3 juices and special energy juices, bread and pastry items – muffins – buns – cakes – crossiants, selected jams, toast station, fruit smoothie station which was staffed, pancake station with honey and syrup, sliced meat – cheese – salad station, 7 or 8 hot foods – baked beans – sausages – bacon – eggs and more and cambodian fare. Enough food here to satisfy anybody’s taste I would think. Eating lunch and dinner at the restaurant was very good, had lunch inside on a hot day and dinner outside later on one night. Service was again A1 with a good selection of light foods from snacks to chef’s selections. There is a good wine list at reasonable prices, some glass prices available. They will keep your bottle at the restaurant for you if you don’t finish it or don’t take it back to your room. The bar was comfortable, seating inside and out. They had entertainment one night and a happry hour every night rom 1700 – 1900 – buy one get the next one free.Cocktails were $8US. We booked our Temple Tours through the hotel. We did three tours, one tour each morning for 3 mornings. We hired a car and a guide and had the same two for the three tours. Our transport back to the airport was just as efficient as our pick up. We were very pleased with the hotel and would recommend it as a good centrally located hotel.
