"End of a cruise from Mekong delta"

Very comfortable and well run hotel. Only slight problem was furniture going dragged around on floor above rather than lifted and placed. Noise was ok daytime but intrusive in the early hours. Top floor room would have solved the problem. Good tuk tuk availability outside hotel but was walking distance for us to Pub Street and Night Market. Only used tuk tuk to return to hotel.

"Luxury"

A true luxury experience. Great rooms with soft beds. Great pool area. I was originally going to say the breakfast is obscenely over priced, but then I went on my last day. Hard to say this in Cambodia, but it might just be worth it at $20/person.

"Amazing pLace to stay!"

When we arrived at this hotel, we were given a free bottle of red wine for being long stay guests so it is well worth spending a week here as there is so much to do anyway in siem reap. The rooms are beautful and so is the rest of the hotel. The staff are always friendly and willing to help you with anything you may need. One of those members of staff is Nikol. He was very helpful and very interested in the good experience that guests were having. If you get thirsty round the pool they have a good drinks menu, however the guys who work around the pool will give you free water to keep you hydrated. The breakfast at the hotel was also amazing and you could get free sparkling wine in the morning if you wish (or if you dare). All round great experience at this hotel and would definitely return. "Beautiful facility with excellent staff"

This is a well done replica of an older hotel, absolutely beautiful and well appointed. On a whim I decided to visit Siem Reap and with zero knowledge of areas or what I was in for, I pulled the trigger on this place the day before and fate served me well. Sombat picked me up at the airport and immediately made me feel welcome. The short trip to the hotel was awesome, his English was good and he's a charming and enjoyable guy. I was delighted to discover the hotel is tucked away from the more gaudy commercial areas, apparently the Chinese and other money is building up this town with some less-than-ideal outcomes (this hotel is apparently French-owned). Siem Reap is a walkable city, and tuk-tuks are pretty much a couple bucks between anywhere you are and want to be within it. Back to the hotel. Phary checked me in and showed me the room, she was also wonderful, again making me feel welcome and helping me get a handle on the local layout and cuisine. She booked me a driver for the next day (Mann) who was absolutely outstanding and a sweet guy to hang around with. Phary was helpful throughout the stay with answers and a smile, you really get a sense of how beautiful and kind Khmer people are from speaking with her. Salt water pool was awesome, once I finally checked it out. Tasteful everywhere, even a little endangered alligator that was too small to steal and make into a handbag. My room had a deep tub and very comfortable bed, stunning balcony. A few quirks like bug fogger with no instructions and no power near the bed, the sink had slightly brownish water and a little too small to wash up without getting water on floor, and the fact I could see light around the door made me wonder if the mosquitoes could too. But overall I had excellent sleep and easily recovered from deeply exploring 4 major temples in one day. If I can get the price that I got on this trip, I'll always come back here to stay. About an hour into Angkor Wat I realized the whole area needs at least a week to touch the surface of taking it all in, and it's a cheap, quick hop over from Bangkok. Phary, Sombat, (and many others I realize I should have written down the name to mention here) helped make Siem Reap one of my new favorite cities to visit. BTW I know these and most all other staffers are not making much money at all, that's the typical arrangement. Hotel and restaurant workers I've spoken to in several facilities throughout Cambodia are mostly working on hope and getting by as best they can. Average income for this country is around $80 a month (less than $3/day), so you radically change their life when you give a few dollars for good service - it means nothing to your wallet but that one act might double or triple their income for the day (or week). These people work very hard to learn English and other languages, to understand our cultures and tune in to our needs. Please take care of them when they take care of us. A humble 3-room home here is presently about $20,000 (remember, they make about $80/mo). With all the money flooding in those rates will probably skyrocket as it has in San Francisco and elsewhere, "the market" will lock out locals from living in their own city's as it "prospers." Give them a fighting chance and be generous when you can and have received attentive service.
