"Magnifique hotel at Bali Nusa Dua"

Bonjour trip advisor from the Sofitel at Nusa Dua a beautiful hotel in Bali. I have been here for a few nights after 5 nights at Pullman Legian. I am a Accor Platinum member and have enjoyed the many extra benefits at this hotel. After a few small hick ups that were immediately sorted out by Mr Maxime Front Office Manager and Mr Adi Club Millesime Manager we have had a great time at this hotel. We received an upgrade to a pool access room which is fantastic and our room appears to be a twin room and the double beds have been joined together to make it the biggest bed I have slept in. Room 6019 would be a great choice for anybody. Beach is very good with free Sun beds and drink service when required. Wife had a massage on the beach and rates it highly. She also had a facial in the spa which she says is the best she has ever had. We have had breakfast in Kwee Zeen which was exceptional and the only minor failing in my 5 star test I use is that there was no smoked salmon. Dinner there was also good with a vast range of options. We have also had dinner in Cut Catch Cusina which was also very good. Both are great value for Accor Plus members with 50% off for a couple. Minor complaints for restaurants are you can't use your free drink voucher there and free water is not available. This has been my first experience of either policy with me staying in at least 20 Accor properties over the last 3 years. All staff at the resort are great and well trained. If you feel like walking out of the resort environment a small village is located just outside of the security zone 10 minute walk away. The Club Millesime lounge is as good as any I have previously been in the only minor failing is the Canapes at Cocktail hour could be improved as they are not a match for those served at Sofitel Melbourne or Sydney. Many other reviewers have said the same. however the afternoon tea is Magnifique and well worth a visit. Lastly my only real gripe is that with the abundance of staff all well trained to say Bonjour I quickly loose my enthusiasm for a return bonjour as I only have about 20 a day in me. This however is probably because I'm a grumpy old man! If you are a Accor member I would recommend a few nights at the Pullman Legian then a few nights here both are very good. Au Revoir.

"Everything is just PERFECT!"

Spent a weekend at this hotel for birthday weekend gateway. The staff really went the extra miles to make sure our stay perfect. They gave surprise Birthday cake inside our room, and found out later after check in that we were the guest of the day. We had access to the executive lounge during our stay. Whether it's just sitting by the pool or relaxing by the beach, the staff will make sure you don't lack anything. I can't seem to find anything that is not perfect in this hotel. It's definitely an exquisite experience.

"2 hotels in one week. Magnifique? Perhaps not"

I'm currently staying at the Sofitel Nusa Dua with my partner. To put this review in perspective I'm 30 years old and we are stopping here on route back from Australia to the UK for 6 nights of rest and relaxation. We have a pool access room with club M included. This gives you benefits such as a private pool in the club area (we've not used it on this stay), tapas and alcoholic beverages for a couple of hours an evening, plus a large selection of books on offer. The vibe you get from this hotel is one of affordable luxury, from their promotional video on every TV you see. Our initial impressions of Sofitel Nusa Dua were superb. Very friendly staff who all say 'Bonjour Good Morning', albeit don't speak a word more French, they really seem to try to make you feel welcome. The local food in the Kwee Zeen restaurant is fairly priced and very good, plus the breakfast selection in the same space is also superb. Probably the best breakfast I've had at a hotel for a long, long time, actually after Sofitel Guangzhou. The juice bar is a real treat for those who like an alternative to the typical sugary hotel juices on offer. Our room is spacious, with a beautiful view of a private jungle paradise into the pool which is just around the corner from the pool bar. Whilst there is hardly any storage for clothing, it's been very carefully designed to feel Sofitel whilst local Indonesian charm and influence throughout. The hotel gardens are truly superb and it's almost a magical journey on an evening walking through the grounds. This, however is where our experience changes. It was quite clear that the hotel was not at any where near full occupancy at the beginning of our stay. Since Thursday there has been an influx of families and the whole feeling of the Sofitel experience has changed. Our room is opposite the kids pool and we can't really hear anything, plus it doesn't bother us to have an atmosphere, however we are now surrounded by young families. There are no restrictions on any of the pools for children which means you simply cannot escape the screams throughout the day. The once relaxing terrace from our room is now a no-go for us. We were also woken up at 6.30am to the sound of screams in the pool access, right outside our bedroom door. Not the once relaxing experience we had for the first half of our stay. It took 2 phone calls and one visit to the Club M desk to actually have a duty manager come and see us about the disturbance, which to his credit he handled attentively and promised to show us another room to move to. A porter then turned up around 20 minutes later to show us an alternative room on the other side, which actually had a strong smell of smoking. We were then shown another which was right next to the restaurant, another non starter for us. The hotel is apparently now at near full capacity as there are no other rooms available so we have decided to stay where we are as we leave tomorrow. We asked the duty manager if there were areas of the hotel dedicated to families, which he replied no. So beware, about this if you want a quiet break, there is no guarantee this can happen. Other things which are bad about this hotel: Staff constantly on their mobile phones. At every opportunity you'll see the local staff are on social media or texting. This for me is poor. I've seen housekeeping teams on the balconies of the rooms above having a 'break', the pool bar staff on their phones when they think we can't see and even in club M on the reception sat on their phones whilst we were sat there. This would never happen at Sotifel in Europe so why here? At breakfast, lunch or dinner they never clear your plates quickly. The worst is at breakfast where you'll see tables still with plates of 'wasted food' just sat there. There appears to be a real lack of organisation lower down in the staff training here. The same applies to the juice bar, which as busy times is nothing short of comical. 4 staff are simply unable to sort between themselves a process of serving customers. This hotel feels a little tired, we thought it was around 8 years old due to the peeling paint on certain walls, dirty bridges over the pools, badly finished skirting boards and tiles in the pool edges coming loose. We were told by a member of staff that the hotel opened 3 years ago. They are performing renovations on 6 of the villas at present. It's when you look into more detail that you see that it's just lacking that total finesse you see elsewhere in the Sofitel chain. Lastly, there is absolutely ZERO entertainment on an evening, which we don't mind too much however if this is your thing then you'll find the nights a little uneventful. I would like to have given this feedback directly to Sylvain the General Manager however both times I've rung to speak with him I've been directed to the duty or someone in club M. It all started so well here but I wouldn't return to this hotel purely because as a customer I do not feel special. Interestingly, when we enquired about bringing the family back for a special birthday next year and seeing the Villas, we were treated like royalty, however when a complaint arrives, the same level of TLC is missing.

"Beautiful, large hotel"

We went here for a wedding and got one of the rooms with pool access. The rooms themselves have small issues like there only being one bin in the bathroom, hard to find the light switches, bottle opener being in the bathroom (all water bottles need to be opened). However the service was excellent and the beach access is great. The beach is clean with clear water and you can go jet skiing and take part in other water sports (not part of the hotel).

A big thank you to all the staff at Sofitel Nusa Dua for one of the best holidays my husband and I have had in years. I would highly recommend this hotel. Location is perfect, beach is clean and I loved visiting Nikki beach which is just next door but part of the Sofitel. The day spa was outstanding and my husband and I had the best massages thank you to Soi spa. Although we were moved our first day of our stay to the Westin hotel due to a big wedding being held at the Sofitel, it was great to have a represenative meet us at the Westin and to receive the little Sofitel touches that we're in our room. Saturday brunch at Cut Catch cucina was amazing. Club millesine was outstanding and cocktails and canapés of an evening is a must. We honestly didn't want to leave the resort as it really did cater to all our needs. All the staff are so friendly even the gardeners acknowledge and welcome you daily. A big thank you to our room ambassador Iwayan Tisnawan. We could tell when he was on day off. He really goes above and beyond to make you feel special and he did an amazing job whilst we were there. Thank you Iwayan for making us feel so special. Also to Sawita for always greeting us with a smile and looking after us at Kwee Zeen restaurant. Your service was outstanding. We will definitely be back and I can't wait to stay with the Sofitel Nusa Dua again. Great job Sofitel.
