Over Segara Village

Our favorite
Eveneens stijlvol is Le Pirate Restaurant.

"Room for improvement "

   23-02-2017
I have mixed reviews about this hotel. We stayed here for 6 nights, check in was really slow & as we were there lunch time our room wasn't quite ready, which was ok as it gave us an opportunity to walk around the grounds. This hotel is set in 5-hectare of beautiful, well looked after gardens. It has 2 pools, one set in a garden surround & the infinity pool which looks out towards the beach. There is another pool which is only available to club members. The hotel has sun beds on the beach & they provide pool towels, which you have to sign for. We sat at the garden pool, it was busy here & not many sun beds, guests would leave their things on the beds & disappear for hours. The pool guy comes round with glasses of water & nuts, a nice touch. Our room was a deluxe room, on the the second level, it was very clean but looked a bit tired, the layout was a little strange as the toilet & shower were all in the same room, no separate bathroom, the sink was next to the wardrobe! Some people might not like this due to the lack of privacy. We had a balcony over looking a very large tree! The room had all the usual things, tv, fridge, air con & a safe. We did find the length of the bed to be very short, my hubbys feet were hanging over the end, the mattress was ok but the pillows were really hard. We did ask for softer pillows but they turned out to be exactly the same. It was really noisy outside our room as it was where the bell boys would walk past with cases, this was ongoing from early hours of the morning. There's an evening turndown service where chocolates are left on the bed, this is a nice touch & daily 2 complimentary bottle of water. The wifi is a bit hit & miss & it can be very slow at times. Our package included breakfast, this was served in the restaurant by the pool, it's a buffet breakfast with the usual things, egg station, pancake station e.t.c the presentation of the food was poor. There was never any cutlery on the table, we had to ask all the time, we found this to be very frustrating. Guests would smoke at breakfast & being a non smokers we found this to be quite offensive. I went to the hotel spa twice, I had a facial each time. My first facial was lovely & relaxing, the second time, my therapist Juli left me for ages with a face mask on, I actually think she forgot about me as she came rushing back in & I felt that she really rushed the last few minutes & she was extremely rough. Totally different experience to my first facial. The hotel is just outside the town, it can take a good 20-30 mins to walk there, there are plenty of restaurants along the beach & lots of good restaurants in the town. There's a money exchange & supermarket at the end of the road. Check out was 12pm, we had a late evening flight, we asked if we could keep our room on but they said no as it has already been allocated. We asked about a courtesy room where we could shower & change before we left, we were told by Wina that we could book the courtesy room, we booked it for 6.15pm. At 6.15 we asked Wina for the key to the courtesy room & we were told to sit down for 5 mins, Wina at reception told us where to go & when we got there it had to be the tiniest room ever (see photos) it had a shower & a toilet, no air con, no towels, we were actually more sweaty after having our shower. We went to reception to inquire why we were put into this tiny room, Bagus at reception told us that someone else went to use the courtesy room, even thought we were the only ones that had booked it. This was really poor customer service from a hotel of this Calibre, Bagus was helpful but this didn't resolve our issue. On the whole we enjoyed our stay at Sanur, we had a lot of positive experiences but a lot of negative ones too. I doubt very much that we would return to this hotel as there's plenty of better branded hotels in the area. I look forward to reading the hotels reply to my review.

"Beach hotel"

   22-02-2017
We are staying at the Segara Village hotel and it matches exactly the photos on their website. it's grounds are stunning, the gardens are well maintained and we feel totally relaxed. The staff are so pleasant and attentive without being obtrusive. We are staying in a deluxe room. on the first floor with a balcony, it's lovely sitting there in the evening enjoying a sundowner on the large comfy day bed. The pool areas have enough loungers and the breakfast buffet has a wide selection to choose from. Would highly recommend.

"A lovely resort on the beach"

   20-02-2017
This is a lovely hotel set in lush grounds. The hotel and grounds a really well maintained. We stayed in a deluxe bungalow – and it was well worth the upgrade. You have a shared pool for Bungalow guests only with really thick cushions on the loungers and towels rolled up and ready for use on each lounger. There is unlimited free tea, coffee and water. The hotel gives the impression of being bigger than it is because of the way it is set out which really works to it’s advantage. The food on offer in the restaurants and eating areas is varied and well-cooked and presented. We did however get a little bored with the breakfast choice and this needs to be varied a little. The staff are friendly and nothing was too much bother. The hotel opens onto the beach which was really lovely and certainly was a selling point above the other hotels in the area. The sunbeds were a little uncomfortable after the ones around our pool as there were no cushions on them apart from a small red square one for your head. It was nice to have waiters walking around asking if you wanted water or if you wanted to order anything to eat/drink.. We used the Spa and the treatments were really well priced and competitive to those being offered outside of the resort and on the beach. My only negative would be that the drinks were a little pricey compared to the bars/restaurants either side of the complex and the hotel did lose guests to these. E.g. a small beer in the hotel was the same price as a large beer next door and the same with the wine. The hotel is well placed for the beach but is a good 15 minute walk into the main shopping/dining area of Sanur. All in all a restful relaxing stay in a lovely hotel.

"An amazing place..."

   19-02-2017
We stayed in the Segara for 8 nights as part of our honeymoon. Upgraded to a bungalow and it was well worth it, we had a lovely garden to ourselves and lots of privacy. Rooms are decorated very well and bathroom was spacious and looked fantastic. Housekeeping did a great job every morning. The grounds and gardens are maintained very well, although there was maintenance work going on to the paths in the grounds of the hotel, this wasn't noisy or messy at all. The really brilliant thing about this hotel is the genuine Balinese feel to it, the traditional music being played live during breakfast is a really nice touch. The pools are beautiful, the cocktail bar is great from 4-6 when they do buy one get one free and you can enjoy the sunset in the jacuizzi with your cocktail. We spent a lot of our time on the beach, the hotel has a reserved area and it wasn't too difficult to get a sun lounger, as with the sun loungers at the hotel bar. All areas are clean and tidy. There are lots of water sports available at the beach area. Food was great, the menu is very varied, we had lunch and dinners almost every day within the hotel, we felt it was great value and always presented very well. Good range of drinks and cocktails. Breakfast is fantastic! Definitely one of the best hotel breakfast buffets we have ever had, the fresh omelette station is brilliant and they have beautiful, fresh pastries every morning. We used the laundry service twice, fantastic, quick service, everything came back perfectly and very good value. Highly recommend a tour of the island with an English speaking tour guide, we had a fantastic day and because the island is relatively small you can see a lot in one full day. Obviously there are lots of tours available and you could spent the week out around the island should you choose to. One thing to note is that Sanur is a very quiet area of Bali, we did venture out of the hotel one evening and to be honest there wasn't very much in terms of appealing restaurants or bars. For us this was fine as we were so content in this hotel that we didn't feel the need to leave much. On an ending note I think it's important to praise the staff in this hotel, especially the bar and restaurant staff, they really made our experience so enjoyable, everyone was very friendly and helpful and after a couple of days they knew our drinks orders! If I am ever in Bali again it would be my pleasure to stay in Segara Village.

"Amazing hotel and service "

   15-02-2017
Such a beautifull hotel. The food was amazing with a lot of choices. The pool was also amazing with enough places. Also they have enough sunbathing beds on the beach, which is only a 1 minute walk from their restaurant. The staff was very kind and helpfull. Overall it was an amazing place to stay and I defitnely would go there again.
