"Hotel that tried to cheat "
The receptionist tried to overcharge me by saying my booking had a complimentary spa but I did not use the free spa. Upon checking out they charged me for the complimentary spa. I told them that it's an agreement from booking.com that I only pay for the room and I will not pay any extra. Can you imagine if I had taken the complimentary spa? I would have been charged!! Do you know the meaning of complimentary?? This is not right at all ALILA UBUD. I am totally disgusted. I don't like the dim room n bathroom . It looks gloomy and almost haunting bathroom being dark and eerie. Doors can't be open easily . The grass in the Garden was overgrown. The garden was dark when we walked back to the rooms too. In this LED era hotels should be beautifully lit to attract customers. Being designed romantically does not mean that it has to be dark and eerie. Buckle up !!
"Beautiful Hilltop Paradise "
The pool and bar/restaurant area at the Alila Ubud are second to none. Views across the valley from the infinity pool are the best I've experienced. To match the exquisite location, the hospitality and food are fantastic. If you're a meat fan I'd recommend the chicken wings, I couldn't help but have them every day to accompany my complimentary afternoon tea. The "spice bar" night at the evening restaurant was also a highlight, with the famous Balinese suckling pig stealing the show. Local cocktails and old favourites also riddle the menu so you're never short of a good drink. I was only ever impressed by this hotel and the friendly staff's attention to detail. I highly recommend it.
"Nice n cozy place for nature exploration"
Finally have some time to share the experience of staying in this hotel. I went there for Christmas holidays with family and stayed for two nights. It turned out 3-5 nights would be more comfortable for the travelling. For general speaking, the brand ALILA is somehow worthy. For the room we stayed, one is superior room while the other is the valley villa. The superior room is nothing really special. Furniture on balcony is a little dirty. The valley villa has a outdoor tube which is even more dirty and we didn't bother to use it. Public facilities are fine in all. The famous endless swimming pool is around 25m in length. So I guess it's more for the "staying" in the water. Staff working there are quite nice and helpful. Some of them speak really great English and you definitely can have a enjoyable chat with them. Though we had some unpleasant with the price issue, we had it solved in the end. Wish the hotel could offer every detail of activities and discount information transparent. It really depends on how you like nature there. The day we stayed in villa valley, we encountered a whole family of wild monkeys of twenty I counted, from baby to old, came to our terrace for food. So we had to close our windows and doors in case they would come inside for tricks. Besides, there were geckos shouting for whole nights inside of your room, which was quite noisy and we couldn't sleep. But as I said, it really depends on your attitude. The hotel located in the jungle with nice natural environment and you can even hear the sound of water running from the A-yung river nearby. For the food there, the breakfast is a little out of choice and not that nice. For dinner we tried there was good for both local food and western style. Yet, when compared to the dinner from ALILA ULUWATU VILLA, the quality seems much less tasty, and yes a little cheaper than that from Alila Uluwatu of course. So if scoring both, Alila Ubud is around 7/10 and Alila Uluwatu is around 8.5/10 For activities there, we didn't try except for the free morning yoga session. Other paid activities such as field walking, are not that attractive enough for the price titled. I think I may try the COMO estate next time for that hotel offers much more healthy activities. There wasn't much people we've seen there, though we were told the rooms were full. don't know really true or not. So in conclusion, it's quiet and cozy place for relaxing yourself !
"Classy all the way!"
WOW! Just book it! it's worth the cost! Perfectly planned, organised, decorated... the list goes on and on. One of my favourite things with this resort is that it doesn't feel crowded in any way. Beautiful accommodation, amazing pool and great food. The scenery is unbeatable. They also arrange day trips and complementary shuttles to Ubud centre. Tip: See the sunrise over the rice fields just inferno of the hotel property.
"Not for VEgeterians"
The Property is Far from the City, thus go only if you want to stay in the property only. Not Much things to do in the property. We booked a Vally Villa which wasnt worth the money paid by me. The vally is full with trees up till and doesnt even seems as a vally. Tree houses and deluxe rooms are the best to choose from. Food was not at all good , nothing for vegetarians. When I entered the hotel I expected more at the reception but no one guided us with the hotel facilities at the reception however the bell boy really explained well the room amenities. Over all would say an expensive hotel and not upto the expectations. This hotel is more foor people who just want to read a book by the pool side having sip of there wine glasses.
