Everything was perfect. Hemal was a gracious general manager and made sure out room was beautiful. The breakfast is incredible and they feed you until you say stop. Outside shower was just a treat. We will be back.
""Absolutely Amazing Alila""
We stayed here for 4 nights in November 2017. A truly amazing hotel with fantastic service. Staff always said hello always had a smile on their face whenever they saw you. We arrived at night and were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and cold towels. We stayed in a deluxe room with jungle views. Room was clean with an outdoor bath and shower. Breakfast was incredible. Great Food, Great Service and Great Surroundings. Infinity Pool had amazing views of the jungle. Definitely one of the best pools in the world. Little Ice Pops and refreshing water by the pool made the experience even more special. The Afternoon Tea was a nice touch. The pastries were delicious. 20 mins from Ubud City Centre and taxis cost around 100000INR one way. Highly recommend the hotel. Staff made it a very enjoyable stay for me and the Mrs. Mr. and Mrs. Shah
"Enjoyable stay in Ubud"
I stayed at the Alila Ubud with a few of my friends for 3 nights. The most impressive feature of the hotel is the infinity pool that stretches out into the jungle, and because of its location in the jungle we have some hilarious stories involving monkeys (who love to to come hang out at the pool and on your bedroom balcony). We had standard rooms which were absolutely fine. The decor is plain and basic but while I love the minimalist look the furnishings/soft furnishings could probably do with an update. However, everything was clean and I don't have any complaints - I just wouldn't say this is a luxury hotel. The bathroom is quite small and the doors are flimsy so it almost feels like being in the room. Mosquito nets are provided, but despite this my friends still found cockroaches on the interior of their curtain at night. They asked to switch rooms and were upgraded to nicer and bigger room with an outdoor shower and bath, although this was situated much further away from the hotel amenities. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A la carte breakfast was included and served in the main restaurant every morning. The food was tasty but not absolutely amazing, although I did love the selection of freshly squeezed healthy juices. All in all we had a great time and liked the hotel - thank you very much!
"Serene Oasis Nestled in the Jungle"
On family holiday with my daughter, who has a severe nut allergy. Within the first 24 hrs in Bali, she had a terrible episode - which took her 32 days to recover. Upon arrival at Alila Ubud she had another (to our dismay) ... the staff went above and beyond to assist her recovery. Every staff member showed genuine concern. Providing transport to pick-up medication and even the following day went out of the way to get her a topical cream; as her skin was still inflamed. the resort is a serene oasis, not far from downtown Ubud. Waking up to the sound on the jungle and the surprise monkey visits poolside were a real treat. We enjoyed our stay surrounded b y nature.
"Fabulous pool, food and staff"
We were here for four nights during the Mount Agung rumblings and airport closure, so the resort was very quiet. This led to closure of the upstairs restaurant at night, food served in the downstairs pool lounge instead. This wasn’t a major issue, as the pool lounge and restaurant is spacious and atmospheric, overlooking the glorious infinity pool and the tropical valley beyond. However, on our first night the regular movie night held in this venue coincided with dinner, much to the consternation of the various couples who were attempting to have conversation, or some semblance of a romantic evening. The fact that Life of Pi was shown with Indonesian subtitles and no English audio didn’t help. Other than this, we loved our stay in this resort. Swimming to the edge of the large infinity pool to gaze down on the valley below is a dream. The service was excellent throughout, from breakfast to pool service and spa. The food was good, and not overly expensive for a resort of this calibre. Little extras such as afternoon tea, glasses of cool water by the pool, and home made ice pops, all brought around gratis, were appreciated. We come to Bali regularly and are now used to more spacious rooms, often within our own pool villa, so found the rooms a little tight in terms of size. But the open air shower in the delux villa was pleasurable, and if you aren’t intending to spend a lot of time in your room, size won’t be an issue. There is enough to do around Ubud, or just relax by the pool and on the comfy sofas in the pool lounge, to make the whole experience very pleasurable.
