Over Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort & Spa

"Great Hotel and great service..."

   21-05-2018
We have a great stay at the Victoria and would not hesitate to come back again. We found check in fast and efficient and although our room wasn't ready until 2pm, we were able to use the spa to get changed in and then relax by the pool until later. The rooms are comfortable, TV has a good selection of channels and everything worked well including the air con. I used the laundry service on our visit and found my clothes returned the same day looking like new. The pool is situated on the front and we found the service friendly and efficient... just wave the red flag attached to your sun parasol and the waiter came running. Food at lunch was great with something to suit almost everyone. Our only gripe regarding the pool area is that it can become very noisy with children. We went out of term time but found lots of children from other countries all the same. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing time round the pool, you may want to think again....we found the noise and constant screaming unbearable at time. The beach is to the right of the property and is a 5 minute walk from the pool... this is allot quieter than the pool area and has ample sun beds and towels. We found very few people at the beach which is lovely. We ate every night in Hoi An.... we caught the hotel shuttle bus each night into town and found many great restaurants (recommend Morning Glory). You are able to eat starter & main course and drinks for 2 for about 1,000,000 Dong (about £30) excellent value. The shuttle service is a great credit to the hotel. They drop you off at the start of Hoi An old town and its shops, bars and restaurants from there.... pick up is at the same point with the last shuttle back at 9.30pm. A taxi back to the hotel is around 75,000 to 100,000 Dong (£3)! We loved Vietnam and found the people, food and service to be without fault... will come again.

"Lovely boutique hotel on the water"

   20-05-2018
We stayed in a junior suite for 7 nights. The room looked out over the water and has a balcony with 2 chairs to take in the view. We stayed here a few years ago and unfortunately the beach front has now been washed away, however there is still a private beach at the end of the resort for guests to utilise. The junior suite is very spacious, has an outside shower as well as inside bath tub. The breakfast was good and the pool a good size looking out on the water. We utilised the free bycicles and rode around the local area most days, into Hoi An, down to AN Bung Beach and through farming areas.Free shuttle buses went fairly regularly to Hoi An town ship, although we caught a taxi most times for about 80,000 - 100,000 dong ( $5 AUD). The service was always good throughout the whole hotel. There were catamarans and kayaks for hire if you wanted and local restaurants, shops and massage places within walking distance .

"Resort with warm and helpful staff and excellent food"

   19-05-2018
We truly enjoyed eight days at Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort & Spa! From the very first minut upon our arrival we felt warmly welcomed and the staff continued to be supportive, hospitable, warm and helpful throughout our entire stay. The resort has all the amenities you will expect from a four star hotel with a lovely, good sized pool, including a good pool bar and a private beach adjacent to the resort. The room was spacious and well air conditioned. The food was excellent with a wide selection of choices for breakfast, and a la cart menu for lunch and dinner. The best dinner in Vietnam we had at the resort! Entertainment was provided almost every evening including local dance and music as well as lantern making and a cocking class. Highly recommended. And get a room with a ocean view - awesome!

"We love the Victoria"

   19-05-2018
Our 7th visit to this hotel. It feels like home and we really appreciate the warm welcome on arrival. The staff are what make this hotel special, we have made lots of friends over the years. They are so friendly and want to make your stay special. Garden view rooms look towards the ocean so it is lovely to hear the sea. The trees hide some of the sea view so I think that is why they say Garden View. There are ocean view rooms which do have a direct view and are very spacious. Breakfast is a banquet and will keep you going for most of the day. Thank you to my dear friends Cuć and Nhân. Do try the wonderful Vietnamese coffee. We buy the one the hotel use in the local supermarket. It is called Trung Nguyen S. The No1 Coffee. It has a sailing ship on the front of the packet. A small 100g packet is about 17,000 VND (50p) they make great presents especially if you buy a filter to go with it, look at the ones in the hotel. A large coffee bag of 500g costs about 70,000 VND (£3). We have brought home a years supply as we love it so much! It is not too strong but you can adjust the strength, it has a hint of vanilla which is delicious. You can buy it online. The food menu by the pool is excellent if you want a snack. Sunday Brunch is very popular and not to be missed. I enjoyed a massage in the spa, played tennis and my husband made the most of the excellent water sports which is one of the reasons we enjoy going there. Thank you to Mr Hoa and Duc for carrying the SUP board so many times across the road to the river bank! We also enjoyed using the hotel bicycles, on one trip we went to An Bang beach and had a wonderful coffee at Sounds of Silence. It took about 15-20mins to get there, ask reception how to get there, it is quite easy though be careful of the busy road. There were road works when we were there which made some part single file. I found it very scary having lorries toot you to warn you they were coming and be so near. I got off the road and went on the pavement which was much safer! The shuttle bus into town is now further away due to the rules of the old town. You have to walk a fair way and some sections are busy with bikes parked on the pavement so you have no choice but to walk in the road. If you have children or are a bit tired and hot my advice would be for the small cost of a taxi it is worth paying the 100,000 VND (approx £4) to be dropped nearby and save the walk. Another highlight this year at the hotel was the lantern making class. Held on Fridays 7pm I think. All the materials are supplied. There is no charge but the lady appreciated a small tip I gave her as she was so patient. She makes it look easy but she will help you to make a beautiful lantern to take home. Thank you again all our dear friends at the Victoria especially Claude the manager and we hope to see you again.

"Authentic - Friendly - Genuine"

   17-05-2018
We return there after maybe 10 years. The hotel remains very nice, impeccably maintained with a delightful team always ready to assist and help. Recommend highly the side cars excursions.... exceptional moments using unknown road around the peninsula. Fantastic. If your budget afford recommend the small villa in front of the sea especially if you are looking for a total relaxing stay.
