"Pure luxury and relaxation"
We caught the sleeper train from Ninh Binh to Hue and were collected promptly and greeted warmly by the Pilgrimage team. The hotel is just bliss, tucked away amongst the buzz and culture of Hue. We stayed in a beautiful suite, we felt so grateful and blessed to be experiencing high end luxury in amongst natural surroundings. The staff couldn't do enough for us, particularly Ramola (guest relations). The breakfast was divine, lots of choice and the pool and spa area- wow, it was hard to leave. We spent most of our time there. Highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing retreat but also close to the beautiful ancient surroundings of Hue. The Old Citadel is a must do visit followed by an afternoon back at the hotel of course! Thank you for looking after us, we cannot wait for our next trip. Rebecca and Olive Mohsen-Taheri
"OK hotel but lacking atmosphere"
We got moved here because our hotel had building works ongoing. It's quite a way from the centre of town thought he hotel runs a shuttle service. You have to book for the service and it seems a little erratic - one evening it turned into several taxis and they all left without us. The setting is a forest landscape with rooms spread out amongst the trees. We didn't find this place had much charm or atmosphere. The overheated bar we sat in was deserted and the spa was fairly average. Beware the silk Kinonos they give you instead of robes - absolutely hopeless when you're walking around as they slip open at every step
"Nice resort, lovely staff, good service"
I and my wife stayed there just only for 1 night during our honeymoon trip and this is the best place during our trip. We booked a superior room and that was so lovely when they upgraded us to a honeymoon bungalow room which is very large, quite, and nice decoration. Very appreciated! - Staff: great service. Overall very friendly. Special thanks to Nhi, who checked us in, Van Quyen, who helped us with recommendation and the shuttle bus go to downtown and mr Hung from the Bar, really enjoy the talking. - Breakfast : need to be improved. A bit salty. - Swimming pool: There were 2 pools but we just enjoy the main pool as the other was under construction. - Spa : So so. We got a coupon for a 30 mins massage, a nice gift. If you are looking for a relaxing trip, nice and quite resort, excellent services, we highly recommend to stay here.
"Beautiful and peaceful resort"
We loved this place, huge rooms, fantastic swimming pool and grounds. Free Tai Chi and Yoga every morning which we did, great way to start your day. We also took advantage of the free treatments in the spa we were offered and a few more! It was so relaxing. A bit more pricey than many of the hotels in Hue but was worth it.
My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for three nights. On entering the hotel the decor and design looked incredible. We were welcomed with a cold drink and refreshment towel. They soon checked us in and told us about the hotel facilities and bus shuttle service. We did have to pay a deposit which we had to do by card as we did not want to use all our cash which I was not so keen on as we have to wait for a refund in a few weeks. It was a deposit of around 100 pound, I feel they should have warned us before as the couple next to us also seem surprised. They also were quite pushy for us to have breakfast for the three mornings but I only wanted it for two as we were leaving early on the third morning. We then ate at the hotel restaurant as we were unable to go to our room till 1:30. The lunch was very nice but not as great for vegetarians and a bit pricey (we did not eat here again because of this). We ended up eating across the road at a family run restaurant called echo, much better price. I also found it strange that within 30 minutes of going from the reception to the restaurant that the waiter said you only have booked breakfast for two mornings why not three. Unsure how this information was passed to him so soon when they do not even serve breakfast there. Bit odd. The room was really nice and couldn't fault it! Nice space and a balcony to sit out on. The surroundings of the room and hotel are amazing we really felt like we were in a honeymoon resort and in a rain forest. Again just be aware the drinks in both the room and pool bar are expensive, you can go across the road and it is a third the price. Seems a bit pricey to me. The staff were polite and would say hello, but not much more than that. My problem was is that I felt it was strict in terms of the bus shuttle service. You had to tell them 30 minutes before and be there 5 minutes before if u wanted a certain time and if you were late you would get charged. When getting the bus they asked what time would we be back...how are we supposed to know this when we have never been to hue and do not want a time restraint when we are on holiday. The hotel we stayed in hoi an had a bus shuttle service and you just jumped on and off and this was much better. Another thing is I felt they were quite jobs worthy always asking us what our room number was, my boyfriend and I were swimming in the pool and one of the staff just came up and asked what our room number was for no reason. They were polite but not as friendly as other hotels. Minus the above, We loved the hotel and loved the surroundings. It is too far to walk to hue but they have the shuttle bus so that is not a problem. The hotel is truly beautiful and you can see they work hard to keep it that way. Minus the small negatives it was a very relaxing stay and recommended for anyone who wants a small break from the business of Vietnam. I would definitely stay here again!
