"Great buffet breakfast"
Convenient location on the edge of the Old Quarter and within walking distance to most of the key sites. Hotel faces a small park and fountain with traffic circulating down either side. Large room and bathroom - clean and comfortable. Some aspects of the room condition were tired but everything worked fine. Ours was an 8th floor room and well-insulated from the traffic noise below. Efficient and helpful staff and a great buffet breakfast.
"dont stay here"
The one plus point about this hotel is it's locality. There the good points stop. We recently had the misfortune of staying here a couple of weeks ago. From the moment we checked in it was awful. The male receptionist can only be described as surly and abrupt. The porter was rude. The room was described as a deluxe room. It could not have been further from the truth. We had no hot water after 7 pm for the 2 nights we stayed there. The tiles were cracked in the bathroom. The plug sockets were hanging off the wall with bare wires exposed. The TV was propped up on a piece of wood. The room was very small and not deluxe in any way. The bar staff were lovely though - very helpful as was the female receptionist. I would never stay here again or recommend it.
This hotel is very close to the Old Quarter and around 20 minutes walk from the French Quarter. It is situated on a very busy roundabout so crossing the road outside is a real challenge, busy roads need to be crossed when walking in any direction so nerves of steel are required. Although our room was at the front of the hotel it had double glazing so we were not affected by noise. The rooms we had were modern with excellent smart clean furnishings and bathroom fittings. Comfortable beds and pillows. The breakfasts were served in the roof top cafe which had good views over surrounding rooftops. Breakfast was standard fresh fruit, cereals, cooked breakfast etc. All freshly prepared. There was a basement bar but it looked dark and cramped so we preferred to go out. Reception staff were excellent. In summary if you are a seasoned traveller and want a good decent standard hotel this is fine. If you are new to this area and rather nervous about finding your way around busy Hanoi then you would be better in the French Quarter which is better suited to tourists.
Used this hotel as a day room before catching train to Sapa. In a good location with heaps of shops. Hotel has a little bar with cheap drinks. Rooms good and clean. Nothing flash but is convenient and has air conditioning. Would stay here again.
