"Slowest Lift in Hanoi - No Secure WiFi - Dull Hotel"
We would not stay here again. The Hotels lift was horrid, took us 40 minutes to get from the 8th floor to the first floor with around most of the hotel checking out at the same time all trying to get into one tiny lift, in the end had to walk the suitcases down 8 flights of stairs or we would have missed our connection. They only have UNSECURE Wi-Fi so we could not use, why a Hotel this day and age does not have a secure connection is beyond me. Not the greatest location I think we would have preferred the French Quarter but like any place you visit for the first time you learn along the way. The breakfast was the worst in Vietnam, basic basic basic and running out of most things. Rooms ok, very clean but a musty smell about it, beds were hard. We did not hear any noise from the streets but inside the Hotel I think it may have been the lift until early hours making a banging noise each and every night. Reception staff were really nice though
"Dated but you get what you pay for"
My wife and I stayed in room 806 at the back of the hotel for 3 nights. Get a room at the back because the front is so busy and loud with traffic noise. The room was quite large, came equipped with a kettle, fridge, safe, hairdryer and tv with some English channels. The double bed was typically (for Asia) hard but we like that. The decor was dated and needed updating. The shower was handheld and was at best adequate. Breakfast on the 11th floor gave a good choice of European and Asian food. We didn’t eat there at night but we chatted to another couple who did and said ‘never again’. Breakfast omelette was good. The location was on the edge of the old quarter. So easy access to Hanoi central. The hotel bar was good value for money and the lad who served us was lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. To sum up, the hotel was ok but needs refurbishing. I wouldn’t recommend it to family or friends. Save ya money, fly into Hanoi, go to Ha Long Bay then head south. Hanoi is overrated.
"Good hotel "
Stayed 3 nights in total end of January. Hotel staff friendly and helpful,we booked a walking food tour through the hotel reception.Room faced front of hotel so some traffic noise but not a problem. Tea and coffee facilities provided and 2 bottles of water daily.A small selection provided for breakfast, omelettes were good and cooked fresh. Overall a good hotel and location.Staff all very hpful and friendly.
"well positioned comfortable hotel"
We stayed at the Anise for 3 nights in all in November 2017. we were upgraded on arrival to a superior room which was large, clean and very comfortable with a nice sitting area. The room overlooked the main street and was slightly noisy with a window opened but this did not bother us. The view was of the park opposite and it was enjoyable to watch the Zumba classes in the evening and Tai Chi in the morning. Breakfast was included with a reasonable choice and good freshly made omelettes. It was on the top floor with views over the city. The two evenings we ate in the restaurant it was very quiet but with good basic food and service. The hotel was well positioned to explore the old town and not too long a walk from a number of sights, though crossing the road is quite an experience. Staff were friendly and helpful.
"Good location. Decent hotel"
The hotel rooms are clean, breakfast is ok and the location is fairly central with good proximity to the Ho chi minn mausoleum areas, the long bien bridge and the old town. Bear in mind that it is a budget hotel, not the ritz, but the staff are helpful and friendly and it is perfectly alright. We would stay there again.
