"saigon prince hotel"
Location of the hotel is very good. However the rooms are basic as well as the furniture not fit for a 4 star rated hotel. Would not like to stay in this hotel again. We stayed in Augus t2017 in a deluxe double room with terrible views but free wifi.
"It's all about the location"
Good hotel where everything works well. The wifi works in the rooms, the exchange rate for £ or $ into Vietnam dong is good and the breakfast is extensive if a little crowded at peak times. By far the best thing about the hotel is it's location. Our agent recommended it as being central to everything in Ho Chi Minh and she was spot on. You can walk to the Bitexo Tower in a couple of minutes, each at loads of restaurants in the vicinity and mingle with the live music in the central area right outside. If location is everything then stay here especially if you are only staying a couple of days as we did.
"OK - not great"
We had a four night stay in Club Suite 601 from 5-9th August 2017. I spoke with the General Manager about the Club Lounge and our disappointment when compared to our other stays at the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake – Club Room, Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon – Studio Suite and Trident Nariman Point – Club Room. Our main point of concern was the lack of good English either spoken or understood by the Club Lounge staff. When asked a question we often got what we now refer to as the Asian “yeah yeah†when a question is not understood. Given Club Lounges are generally seen as exclusive and executive spaces one would expect the Club Lounge to be staffed with people with a good grasp of English. Having said that, the staff certainly speak English better than we can speak Vietnamese. However we are not providing a prestige service. It was disappointing that only continental breakfasts were available in the Club Lounge as all other properties with Club Lounges we have visited provided A la carte breakfasts. Hot meals were only available in the Grill which provided an excellent selection. Another point was that the Club Lounge staff appeared to a tad lazy spending more time on the computer at the front desk than servicing the guests. On our second night we returned to the hotel from a tour and decided to visit the lounge for some refreshments after 9pm. We were only after tea, soft drinks and small nibbles. There were no soft drinks in the ice stand, however tea and biscuits were available. When asked about the absence of soft drinks we were told happy hour had finished at 7:30pm - a fact which we knew. The attendant kept repeating that happy hour finished at 7:30pm. Given the Club Lounge is open until 10pm we feel is not unreasonable to expect drinks to be on show. The attendant did get some soft drinks when asked but this is not the point. There were other examples of laziness which is not expected from Club Lounge service. At breakfast we had to ask for milk for cereal as it had run out. In happy hour we had to ask for more white wine as it had run out. Also in happy hour there was a tray with only gravy and onions as the meat skewers had run out. This is not unacceptable service for a Club Lounge. Having said that, the afternoon teas were fantastic. Compared to our other stays in Club Rooms the Saigon Prince Club Lounge staff fell well behind in attendance to detail and quality of service. The evening happy hour and canapés also fell behind other offerings. There were few offerings available. As a guide our stay at the Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake was phenomenal. The afternoon teas were also fantastic and the evening happy/cocktail 2 hours had so much choice of food there was no need to eat at the restaurants. They also served actual cocktails. All of the Club Lounge staff no matter what time, either at breakfast, afternoon tea or happy hour knew our names and addressed us accordingly every time. The service was outstanding. Our room was comfortable and large however every evening and morning starting from about 6am there were noises from our ceiling which sounded like furniture being moved over an uncarpeted floor. Not what we expected. Hard to understand as we believe the room above is also a carpeted Club Suite. The location on Nguyen Hue Boulevard is outstanding. The night life is amazing with a mass of people and watching the passing parade is great. In summary, having said all of the above our stay was enjoyable but not quite the standard we were hoping for. We write these TripAdvisor reviews so others can make qualified choices as we do prior to selecting our accommodation.
"Hectic city quiet space"
Saigon Prince is right in District 1 close to everything and super easy to find ... rooms are spacious and air conditioned which is 100% important. The buffet breakfast is awesome and staff are really helpful and attentive the cocktails are a tiny bit on the expensive side but you can pop across the road for the same for half the price ... pool smaller than I thought but gym facilities awesome with towels and water at the ready ... all over great stay.
"First time guest. And it's pretty alright."
Hotel - fairly aged Room - considerably small for a club room; King bed is really just a Queen bed but still comfy for a proper rest Staff - typical vietnam-style Breakfast - good Gym - above average Club Lounge - good‎
