Stayed at the hotel for 3 days and location was perfect, walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. Hotel overall is slightly old but still neat and clean. Would stay here again purely on location!
"Nice enough but getting old "
We've just had 3 nights at this hotel and it was pleasant enough, although it does seem to be getting a bit old and tired. The staff are excellent. They are all very friendly and courteous, always available to open doors for you and carry your bags. The breakfast was also excellent with a very large selection of food from around the world. However, the room left a little to be desired. The silicone that held the basin to the worktop was black with mould, and the lighting, heating and tv controls were all built in to the bedside unit on one side of the bed. This would have been a high tech luxury back in the '70's, but it proved inconvenient for us as it meant that my wife had to ask me to turn her bedside light on and off. Our room was on the 4th floor at the front of the hotel so was quite noisy from the street, especially on the Saturday night when the street gets closed off to traffic so that a stage can get set up for some form of dance show. The hotel is in a good location though, making it easy to visit the local attractions and markets. We used the hotel tour desk to book a couple of excursions. The first was to the Cu Chi tunnels and was excellent. Our guides name was Hui who had a good grasp of the English language. He took us to the tunnels by speed boat and then became or tour guide once there. His knowledge of the tunnels and vietnams history was superb, he later told us he was a history student which would probably explain why. I could not recommend this tour, and especially Hui highly enough. Our second tour was a boat rip to the Meekong Delta. Although it was interesting and a good day out, we found it a little disappointing as it was the floating market we were most keen to experience. However, the market is a wholesale market for locals only, and they only do their business first thing in the morning or later at night, so you basically get shown some boats and told that's the market. I would recommend the hotel for its convenient locations for a short stay, but only if you're not expecting perfection.
"Stay and enjoy"
Deluxe Quality hotel in the hart of Saigon. This is a hotel for everyone. Great facilities, outdoor pool, health club, bar/lounge, coffee shop/.café, gift shop, free Wi Fi. Friendly helpful staff, large rooms with all the trimmings ( free Slippers ). You could spend a week here and never get through all the breakfast buffet choices. Their evening seafood buffet is to die for. We had a great two days here.
"Stayed in 2 different rooms"
Overall Saigon Prince Hotel was great, Location fantastic, supermarket across the road in the lucky plaza, great coffee shops nearby lots of Restaurants and bars. Walking distance to all major attractions Shopping, Markets, post office. Both room had a jug so you could make yourself a coffee or a tea and a fridge, The Air con was good. Staffs were helpful, great breakfast, Fresh fruit, cereal, pasties, English cooked breakfast, Omelettes, and pancakes and waffles cooked to order, plus all the Asian style breakfast. First 3 nights was in room 511 good view, but the room had a damp feel, after 3 days washing was still damp, the bathroom was spotless no mold at all , and a very quiet fridge. After a night down at the Mekong Delta we returned to the Hotel this time room 425, No view, A smaller room and a smaller bed, a very noisy fridge and mold in the bathroom on the shower curtain and on the grouting of the tiles and a shower that leaked all over the floor . But the room didn’t smell and the washing dried overnight.
"Great customer service and location"
Although an ageing hotel that could use a bit of a revamp (we had some mould in our bathroom), it is in a great location and the staff are wonderful. The staff were always very helpful, with a staff member even going and purchasing a SIM card for our phone, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast each morning offered a vast array of food to choose from. This would be an amazing place to stay if rooms were given a make over.
