"Very Relaxing Hotel"

This resort is on Diani Beach and stayed here with close family friends for a week and what a relaxing week we had, just what we all needed after a wonderful and hectic Masai Mara safari. Our room was big and comfortable. It had a private terrace with stunning views of the gardens and beach, but we had to be very careful about leaving the doors to the room open as there were monkeys hanging around. This resort had lots of activities on hand - aqua fit classes, beach volleyball, tennis courts, aerobics classes, archery, table tennis and not forgetting the three individual swimming pools plus an infinity pool. The staff as well as the cleaners were warm and friendly. When passing by they would always greet us by saying Jambo. Food was good as they had buffet meal every evening with lots of choices and theme nights too. Every evening the entertainment staff put on a fantastic show, they were brilliant! The beach is beautiful with soft white sand to walk on but the sellers on the beach were annoying as soon as you stepped on the beach ready to sell you something. We all had an amazing time and this resort is truly unforgettable and would recommend it.

"Five star resort! "

Stayed in 2 rooms as a family of six (4adults and 2 children). Fantastic resort. Rooms huge - We stayed in superior rooms. Food tasty fresh and varied. Staff in restaurant very speedy with drinks. No delays getting a clean and prepared table. Pools lovely and kids club very good with great friendly staff. Entertainment was fantastic with very talented dancers/acrobats. Beautiful gardens. Beach 🏖 idyllic with a firm refusal to the beach sellers meaning that they left us alone

This resort is simply great! Would definitely recommend it as a nice warm stay in Africa. Some positives: - They have a beautiful private beach and the resort itself is looked after and done up really well. The whole scenery is beautiful. - They have a buffet for every meal, various choices. The meat is all halal besides the pork which is done and prepared separately. Every day there was a new theme for dinner which allows you to explore different foods. - There was so much to do within the resort. Several activities such as Aquafit, archery, volleyball and etc. This was a lot of fun! - There was a show every night on their stage which was a really nice way to end the evening. - The customer service was amazing too, the cleaners as well or even staff walking past were just so friendly, welcoming and talkative enough to teach you a word or two in their language. - Great music played in the resort throughout the whole stay! Negatives: - A snake appeared in my room which was cleared rather quickly. - Before I arrived at the resort, I emailed them and did not receive a response at all. - Monkeys hanging around the resort is nice, however can become quite a nuisance when they steal your food. They do have staff in place to stop this but it still frequently happened to a few people around the resort who didn't seem too happy ..

"Best Times running out"

We spent here one week After a Safari in masai Mara. The whole area is really nice and beautiful. The staff always tries to do its best. The food is good the drinks are a catastrophy, beere was mixed with water to safe money. All mixed drinks are with very bad wodka/whiskey etc. The rooms I think many years before looked very cool but now for many years nobody renovated anything. This hotel needs a complete new management and an update to modern times.

"Wonderful and relaxing stay"

This was without a doubt one of the best hotel stays I have had. Almost 5 star. We were there for 3 nights. My 2 Year old son really enjoyed the beach and the kolekole infinity pool which had a shallow end for him to play in. It felt like home and the majority of the staff were friendly. We arrived at the airport and were picked by the baobab complimentary transport van. I however noted that the driver was very impatient so if we were not near the road, he would have easily left us. This was also noted when we were leaving the hotel to go back to the airport. Upon arrival, we waited for almost 2 hrs to get a room. The cold drink however helped us cool down abit. After about an hour, we were informed that there was a snack bar that was open till 5pm; they assumed we knew. I would advise guests to ask questions as soon as you arrive or explore for yourselves. We discovered the maridadi swim up bar on our very last day. So we really missed out on that. The rooms at Baobab are small. We stayed in a garden view room. The bathroom is very very squeezed. I would book Kolekole or Maridadi if I was to return, which I think I will. Cleaning of the rooms is a major letdown. The rooms would sometimes be cleaned even at 6pm and only after making numerous calls to reception and finally physically going to the reception because the calls seemed not to be effective enough. This happened every single day. The cleaning staff seem not to be enough or else they are just not organized. The food is average but generally ok. No food poisoning, thank God. The breakfast is the best, the pancake and waffle station takes the cake, pun intended. The rest of the meals were ok. African night was the least favorite. Chapatis were a disappointment especially being in the coast which is known for good food. The lady making them was rather standoffish, but I don't blame her coz it seems that is the trend in the dining area. This is the main baobab restaurant I am referring to. The waiters were fine but the servers...something needs to be done. They seemed to not be happy to be there. One guest even greeted a server and he ignored till she pointed it out. I learnt not to bother greeting them after the first day. Alot of salads were served but not much animal protein. Sometimes none of the protein had gravy/sauce making the food very dry. Which is terrible for a small child. There are alot of activities at the hotel:- swimming, lawn tennis, table tennis, at the beach one can ride speed boat, surf, windsurf, snorkelling and many others. The beach boys are however so annoying. Harassing you as soon as you step on the beach making for a not so peaceful walk on the beach. I wish the hotel would do something about it. We wanted to go to wasini island to see dolphins but the tour company was charging 7500 ksh per person for a day trip which is ridiculously expensive so we passed on that. Maybe next time.
