"Like living in a perfectly manicured Jungle"
Our family of 4 stayed in one of these bungalows during the first portion of our trip to Costa Rica and it was like living in a perfectly manicured jungle. The bungalows are screened open air so you can hear the frogs and birds and monkeys while you are drifting off to sleep of waking up in the morning. The beds were comfortable, configured with a queen and two singles, which fit our family with two teenagers perfectly. The loft has a steep ladder so it may not be perfect for everyone but our kids managed fine. The pool is small but clean and the beach is only a short walk away. Breakfast was included and the food was excellent. We also had a dinner there and it was amazing. Note: They have mosquito netting on the beds for a reason so figure out how to arrange them properly on the beds. Our son didn't have his closed the first night and got a few bites.
"Like living outside in the jungle"
Our family rented 2 bungalows for part of our holiday. We loved the esthetic of the bungalows. They were comfortable and well situated so you really felt like you were in a private jungle. The sounds at night are fantastic. We loved the fact that there are no windows, just screens to keep out the mosquitoes, which were not bad in December when we went. The staff is knowledgable, professional and courteous. They help with tours, taxis and restaurants. The food was decent. Location wise, Azania is well situated - walking distance to town (15 minutes) and right across from the beach. Being in town would be loud, while being farther down the road toward Manzanillo would be too isolated. Great stay.
"Most lovely setting"
We spent there 3 nights at our bungalow Nov. 2016. It's not easy to give them just 3 stars in the overall rating, but it's not a 4 star hotel. The bungalows are set in a lovely garden setting, there is one queen size bed, one twin and one in the loft under the thatched roof, the bathroom is simple but large, there are screens and a few gaps in between the wood planks, but the mosquito net over the bed gives the necessary comfort. And I have to say I never say one insect inside, except one mosquito. No A/C but some fans, no problems with that. The porch has a hammock and a bench. The pool area is also kept very nice, the breakfast is very good (you have to order the night before what you want to eat, and I highly recommend their bacon and eggs, excellent) as is their restaurant, definitely above average. The service is good and the place is kept very clean. They offer bikes to rent, ordered taxis are there in a couple of minutes. The beach is right across the street. All six of us enjoyed our stay there a lot, every couple was happy with their bungalow. By the way, we saw an Agouti several times on the grounds and heard the howler monkeys almost every night. Check it out online.
"Excellent jungle like lodging next to the beach"
Situated directly next to the Cocles Beach, you will find this beautiful lodge park with a jungle like character. The lodges were very spacious with a very large bathroom in which you could also sit on a bench. There was one double bed and two single beds, one of them on the second floor. The park itself has a small but charming pool. You can also find some wildlife. We saw a sloth, howler monkeys, hummingbirds, an agouti, various lizards. Staff were friendly and also spoke English. It rents out bikes for 5 dollars a day. I would only have one minor "complaint": as from 21:30, the reception and the bar closes. You can still give your key to the security guard though. In any case, I can highly recommend this place if you would like to have some beauty and calmness next to some great beaching.
"Great place for a family"
My family of four stayed here November 2016 (kids are 15 and 21). It was perfect because there is a nice little loft with a third bed, so the "kids" didn't have to share. The beds were fairly comfortable, and the grounds are beautiful. There are no air conditioners in the rooms, but there are fans. We were there when a hurricane was coming in, so it was cool enough (lucky us, lol). Breakfast was good. It was about a 20 minute walk into the main part of town, and cab ride was about 5 bucks. Overall, a very charming place to stay.
