"Love staying here. The deluxe ocean front sunset view ground floor rooms are great. Walk out of room right on to beach."

Really enjoyed all of the services, their restaurants located surrounding the hotel and their friendly staff. The beach front massages are great with a reasonable price. All od the pools are very nice. Really liked the adults only pool.

"Beach front!"

Nice hotel with super nice staff. Once we checked in David helped us with our luggage and showed us to our room. David the bell man was awesome he treated us like friends every day. Actually went out of his way to help us with anything we needed. 5 star service!!! We enjoyed the room, the pools, the breakfast and of coarse the beautiful beach front.

There were many things I loved about this hotel, but had some negative interactions I can't ignore. I'll break them down and let you judge the rest! FIRST IMPRESSION: When we checked into the hotel, we were completely impressed with the view. The entrance is pristine, boasting an open view of the pool with the beach behind it. The restaurant is beautiful and lawn immaculate. What a great way to start your vacation! We didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on the hotel room, so we went with a standard. It was definitely a let-down. The beds were very firm and cheaply made with thin linens as a "comforter". Although the room was stuffy and small, it was clean with an advanced air conditioning system (remote operated) that worked very well. The bathroom was fine. Overall not impressed, but not a huge deal because of the price we paid to stay there. STAFF: These people are hard workers, as you will always see someone sweeping mopping, waxing the main areas. Everyone was really friendly and gave off pretty good energy. The cleaning staff came every day -- even when we put on the "do not disturb" sign, so look out for that. OH and don't forget their sticky fingers. The little things started to go missing - expensive makeup/accessories. But then, we went on a tour for a full day and came back to a stolen speaker. When we went to security, they played the language-barrier card and was never updated on the case. Came back home without anything recovered :( HOTEL POLICIES: It's a little strict here. Be careful with the towel tickets! If you lose your towel ticket or the towel, you will pay $20. The problem for us, was the cleaning staff removed the towels from our room on more than one occasion. We had to plead our case to get new ones without paying for them. The pools close super early -- even the "adult" pool. The hotel dies down early and becomes a ghost town. This was disappointing for our stay, because tours filled our days and after dinner we would hit the town and want to come back for a swim, but weren't allowed to. There is security everywhere, which feels safe. They close down the beach after sunset, but you can enter at your own risk by jumping the rock wall. Security won't try to stop you, they just want you to basically break in so they are not held liable. BE CAREFUL - there was a croc on the beach our first night! POOLS (4-5): The lagoon pool is absolutely awesome with a bar inside of it, but the jacuzzi was colder than the pool on most days. This was most concerning because it's not hot enough to kill the bacteria. The adult pool is lovely, but not quite like the pictures and the bar could use some TLC. RESTAURANTS/NIGHT LIFE NEARBY: The restaurant/bar in the hotel is beautiful, but always dead. We were slightly disappointed as we wanted to see the place come alive -- especially around dinner time- but it never happened for the 7 days we stayed. The drinks were poorly made and overpriced. There is a really good happy hour, but you have to order two drinks at a time and one winds up getting watered-down by the time you get to it. We had the salmon dinner and it was fantastic, but the other food was mediocre at best. THERE IS A SERVICE CHARGE ADDED TO EVERY BILL, so though it feels weird, don't do the American thing and tip them extra. The entire strip is owned by Diria, so we checked out the pizza place attached (outstanding) and the casino down the road. The casino was DEAD. I mean zero people. We thought it was an off-night (Monday), so we tried again Saturday - same story. This place could benefit from adding a nightclub to it or something - ANYTHING to get some people in there. The rest of the strip dies down pretty early, but if you walk far enough you'll find a few bars. Nothing truly exciting to be honest. Sharkys is cool, but a little raunchy of an area. COLONES: BE CAREFUL. Everyone will try to rip you off if you don't understand the currency conversion. We started using the converter on Google for every transaction. If you show them the price you're seeing they will quickly change their minds and agree with you. Also, you will 100% get approached by people selling things about 80% of the time, so prepare yourself.

"Beach front to tamarindo beach, perfect Sopt"

Perfect Spot is you are looking to walk directly to the sand and ocean, but be aware that the facilities of the Hotel are in split by the main road. On part of the Hotel is ocean front, the other part of the Hotel ( Adult pool and main family pool) are not in front of the ocean. We were lucky to be in the building that is ocean front

"Nice hotel. Great location."

We stayed in the cheap rooms. The hotel is split in half by the main (but small) road through town. I wanted to stay on the beachfront side. Not only is it the beach access side, but also where the front desk, tour desk, gym, and breakfast areas are. They offered us a free upgrade to the lagoon rooms, but those are across the street and I didn't want that. My boys are 13 and 15. Having everything close by made me comfortable allowing the 15 yo to go to the gym daily. Or me leaving them in the room while I did some quick shopping in front of the hotel. The beach is absolutely beautiful. The staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast was good for a free breakfast, though it would have been better if they changed the choices from day to day. The room was very clean. And the hotel had a great location within the city. Just about everything was within walking distance.
