"Nice hotel, great location"
Would definitely stay here again. It was a short walk to the bus station to get to/from the airport and a few minutes walk to downtown stores and restaurants. Friendly staff, fruit and coffee in the lobby. Great coffee shop downstairs.
"Great wee hotel in the heart of Christchurch "
Wasn't sure what to expect based on some of the reviews. However this is somewhere I'd go to again without hesitation, nice good sized room, immaculately clean, warm on a cold night. Checkin and checkout a breeze. Walking distance to all CBD attractions.
"Quirky and central"
Stayed here for 8 nights in July. Staff were all extremely friendly. Loved the fresh fruit and coffee in reception. Room 22 was a decent size but there was no storage at all except a table. Bedside tables had no drawers, no shelves in the bath/wet room. There was a small hanging space but that was filled with an ironing board and fold-up suitcase stand and only two other drawers which were filled with iron, tissues, paperwork etc. We ended up living out of our suitcases at the end of our bed. We didn't mind doing this, but if you like unpacking your clothes, you will struggle. Mattress was very firm, my husband loved this, I didn't, but then you can never please everyone. We loved the quirkiness of the hotel, the different levels, little reading nooks and balcony and it is so central for everything in Christchurch we will definitely be back.
Great value for money, around $100 per night for a Standard Room (2 night stay). Quite compact, maybe a double bed at best so suitable for a corporate traveller or backpackeing tourist (Room 25). Great location in the central city. Prepaid accommodation in advance for a weekend away in Christchurch (hometown). Raj, who assisted with the booking process was knowledgable and helpful. We checked in with Wen, who was training a new empolyee - who was very welcoming. We opted for the uncovered parking which was $10.00 per night. PLEASE BEWARE - even though we prepaid accommodation in advance a $150.00 HOLD or pre-authorisation was taking on check-in. Unsure if you are able to chargeback parking or mini bar to the room as this was settled on departure and HOLD was cancelled without processing any additional incidentals. Very strange. Always nice fruit and nepresso in the main reception which was a fantsatic touch. On our second night, the main entrance was locked and had a sign informing attended after 10:00pm, it was only 9:30pm. Required assistance and called what i believe was the Duty Manager who come to reception to assist. Sarah, greeted me and took me to my room (only given 1 key on arrival, so my girlfriend had this whilst I was at the rainy Crusaders match). Sarah strangely did not ask for identification and unlocked my room willingly. This was my first interaction with Sarah, really unsure why she unlocked my room without hesitation. Grateful but maybe a more appropriate process is required. I would not reccomend Hotel 115, maybe for Backpackers who are seeking a little more privacy from a hostel.
Friendly staff. Great location. Found the room small for a superior room. Room 35. Could be better appointed. Found the shower ok but the wet room gets very wet. If guests are to reuse towels it would be good to have a heated towel rail, especially in winter. Aware of the trams but at least they did not go late at night.
