Comfortable room. Helpful, friendly staff. Convenient location. Many restaurants close. Easy walking distance to area attractions. Staff willing assisted with phone calls and assisted with sorting out tour difficulties. They directed us to local restaurants and helped us find many popular sites. Their suggestions for shopping areas were not as helpful and we left christchurch buying very few souvenirs.
"Style over substance."
Lovely looking hotel and that's where it ends. First room we were given had a non-controlable vent blasting cold air directly over the bed, requested assistance with this from the night manager and got a curt brush off that we'd need to put up and shut up till morning (this was after having to walk back down stairs after midnight to find number since reception line just ringing out). Next day after speaking to a different "manager" we were moved to another room, supposedly an upgrade, all good we think till we got back that night, no aircon in that room and a ceiling fan that sounded like a helicopter taking off. Opened the windows to the sound of a concert going on and a car doing burnouts nearby, another call to the distinctly curt and abrupt night manager who then transferred us to another number which rang and was then answered and hung up on. After paying a premium price for the stay we ended up getting about 4hrs sleep across 2 nights. Distinctly disingenuous about the inclusions too, supposedly free non-alcoholic mini bar was actually 1 bottle of water, 1 coke and 1 juice in the fridge - 1 small bottle of water between 2 for $300 per night, oh how you spoil us.... No provision or information on breakfast that was supposedly included, welcome drink was a warm white wine, why oh why bother with such "inclusions" if you're going to do it so poorly? Hotel manager has apparently never heard of mobile phones to make the promised call to me to discuss the issues, rather apparently expected us to hang around the lobby waiting for her to grace us with an audience. Would recommend staying pretty much anywhere else in Christchurch over Hotel 115, rooms that look nice in pictures is about where the quality of this place ends.
Lovely comfortable hotel in the center of downtown, right by the cathedral and tram pickup for the Tramway Dinner (also an excellent experience). Hotel 115 had every amenity we needed and the staff was very helpful as well. There's a parking garage beneath the hotel available for $10/night. Plentiful cafes and restaurants with a block radius.
Cost was 700+ for two nights, room was very small, even by european standards where I have travelled often by NZ it is minute Clean tidy and bed comfortable. We only stayed one night in end as I had bad fall and broke my shoulder. They were polite, but I still paid for the two nights.
"Decent hotel in centre of Christchurch "
I spent one night in this hotel when visiting Christchurch for work. My room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The shower was great! Getting to my room was a bit of a challenge as they sent me to the wrong floor. Be prepared to have to carry your suitcases up a few stairs as for some reason most of the rooms are up several stairs once you get up the elevator. This wasn't a problem for me but I think it should be mentioned at check-in.
