Kumarakom ligt 16 kilometer ten westen van Kottayam in de deelstaat Kerala en is de laatste decennia tot een populaire badplaats uitgegroeid. De plaats ligt aan de oostelijke oever van het Vembanadmeer. De eilanden in het meer die tegenover Kumarakom liggen zijn de broedplaats van vele trekvogels.
"Superb property but..."
Well the property is jst on the brink of the lake with an amazing view from the rooms. 5 start rating for that! However, service was extremely poor. 1. The property is huge, never would a buggy be available! So then u walk to ur health! 2. Phones to the reception/ helpdesk/ operator goes unanswered! So go figure out everything yourself! 3. The washrooms close to the business centre sucked! One was unusable, the other dint have a lock! Now natureâ€™s call! 4. The food order at the bar takes 45 mins as it is half a mile away from the kitchen... stay hungry! 5. U ask a query and u may jst wait n wait n wait! 6. The boat ride was quite a bore!! Except if one wants to enjoy a romantic sundown! But hey was on a business visit! 7. U get locked out n u wait n wait n wait in the hot sun until they figure out the issue (that too when u walk up to the reception in the hot sun n raise ur voice) All in all a good property but for the service!
"Avoid Zuri which is 3* outdated property, Book Taj Kumarakom"
Avoid Zuri , Book Taj Kumarakom. We were at Zuri from 16th to 19th march. And i must say the experience is 3* only and NOT 5* at all. Rooms: out dated. walls with stains. fans with dirt n webs. Bathroom: bath tub had permanent stain marks. they provided bath table which was broken and can hurt. Service: room service is top notch. House keeping team of sheela n vineeth is really amazing. they take care of all house keeping needs very well.. We especially want to mention Lily from front office. She had been of great help in all queries. She ensured that we get evening cruise wherein my mother gets wooden plank arranged to get easily into boat. And the best service we saw was from the two generous security officers ShankarNarayana n Shrijith. they gladly lifted a very heavy iron clad wooden plank from afar to the boat . even though we denied them to not lift and we will not board the cruise, but they were adamant saying we will lift it easily so that mother can go into the cruise.. Pool: the pool had dirt and small stones at the bed of pool. how can this be considered a 5* cleanliness?? can swimming pool have stones? wet feet can get cut easily. the changing rooms were stinking of gutter smell and tiles also were very slippery. Food : service by mirza mohith and ashley was superb. but food was super bad. we are vegetarians. and the food was not tasty at all. imagine idli being of approx weight 150 gms. what i mean to say is they made heavy idli instead of soft n fluffy. we asked for piping hot tea coffee always, but we always got warm. why? we asked for jaggerry to be put in coffee. how shud b the form of jaggerry? sliced or powdered. right? but they gave hard stones of jaggerry until we explained them. but it shud b common sense. also most imp- those who book All Meal Plan beware that you CANNOT order anything apart from buffet, else it will be chargeable. where have you observed that in 5* ? And my contact person Santhosh reiterated that yes you wl be charged. he said it is mentioned in booking slip. Imagine plight of veg ppl who may not get the taste or item they want. Anyways, their other person in charge Saahil was exceptional. Hearing all my above complains he had a change of heart and told us we can order. Finally to end the review: Property good. Lawns well maintained. Rooms out dated. Housekeeping superb cuz they tried to maintain the outdated rooms in best possible way. Restaurant food bad for veg. ppl. High tea sad. One pakoda and Same single type cookie all days. Pool very bad. Over all 3* property. Thanks Lily Mirza Sahil Vineeth Sheela ShankarNarayan Shrijith Mohith Ashley for giving us a good time. Avoid Santhosh during any contacts. Btw we were mistakenly under chared by 10k and were told this is full n final settlement. But on last day they understood and explained it was their error in calculation and added the remaining 14k. Thank God we stayed at Taj Malabar Kochi after Zuri and it was super extraordinary amazing. The real 5*, our own Taj!
"A jewel in the crown, idyllic, tranquil, perfect..."
A short 2 day stay at The Zuri, whilst touring Kerala. We stayed in one of the lake facing cottages. Very comfortable 5 start and enjoyed the outside shower. The real gem for us was the half day â€˜house boatâ€™ tour of the back waters of the Vembannad Lake with rice paddy fields on each side taking you through many lake side villages. We had such a peaceful and relaxing half a day. We were severed a truly 5 star lunch with a private chef onboard which we personally arranged the menu with the head chef the night before. 5 star bedroom and bathroom on the boat. Although we did not stay on the boat, a facility to stay at the hotel and then 1 night on the boat is possible. If we had our time again, this is what we would do. The house boat ride seems to be a well kept secret. We only found out about it through Trip Advisor ourselves. Simply perfect hotel in this beautiful part of Kerala..
"Excellent facilities with good staff and hospitality"
My wife and I visited for the first time. As soon as my wife saw the facilities she would immediately impressed. When we entered our villa, I knew the look on her face meant that she was very happy with my choice. The room was absolutely amazing. The staff were equally delightful and helpful. We will definitely visit again. Bring your camera. You will most certainly want to take pictures.
"Excellent Location with poor services and quality"
I visited with family during the month of March, 18. The hotel was beautifully situated, however the level of services is pathetic. 1. We got the luggage after more than one hour post check in at room and that too after 3-4 calls at reception. 2. Restaurant is small, buffet is having limited variety which is not in accordance to its 5 star status and managed poorly. We were asked room number at least 8-10 times during dinner time. 3. In case you are asking any facilities the general reply will be 'Will call back after some time' its mean they will never call you back. 4. Very limited sports activities, in billiard room table light is not in working condition with switch off Air conditioners, paddle boats are not clean and you will not prefer to enjoy. 5. Fish food they will seldom provide or quality will be so poor that you will not be able to attach it with fishing rod. However, whenever you request for it, they will inform will send it. 6. Inter room telephone connection is not working properly and at night when we received a call which was disconnected without word, want to call to our children's room, it is not working. Operator informed he will call us, which he never did despite request around 12.30 night. Overall it is wastage of time and money. However we admire Mr. Adarsh services.
