"Nice quiet place to relax"

We just came from here and would recommend this place to others. Nicer resort than the others at the island (haven't been in any other but they didn't look as nice). Staff is very, very helpful and nice. Resorts restaurant is pretty beautiful at the night. Lots of lights around the trees. Minus side was the mosquitos. Pretty pricey tough, if you need water or beer or some snacks you should go to the minimart next to the beach. For example, 1,5L of water costs 20B, in the bar at the resort 0,6L costs 70B+taxes. Awesome beach to do snorkeling. You have to wait until the tide is low you can really see the beauty of the corals and lots of different kinds of fishes. Watch out sea urchins. There is a lots of them.

"A utter rip off riding on the back of a great location"

We were really looking forward to staying on Koh Krahdan after a dive trip there last year. We'd booked 8 nights, paid in advance at >£210 per night. We expected intermittent utilities, being on generator power and took our own mosquito coils for the bathroom (the hotel does not provide them). The first night I got electrocuted by a badly insulated angle poise lamp, the mosquito net was thick with dust and dead insects (and holes, about as much use as a chocolate teapot). We were in a room right next to the generator. We asked to be moved to another room. The second room was quieter. One our second day there, we had a sudden severe ant infestation, which I can live with, but the dead insects weren't cleaned up for 2 days. Towels are left to fester in damp, humid conditions. A day later, even the ants had left. The food is frankly abysmal: Thai curries with no fresh coriander, lemon grass, holy basil. We were thankfully saved by eating at the Italian 250 metres up the beach - which brings fresh home grown ingredients in every day from Krabi, see my separate write up. By day four, we'd had enough, cut our losses and moved onto Koh Lanta, where we managed to get into the Houben, a family run business which is outstanding. In honesty, Seven Seas was a massive disappointment. The staff are well-meaning, but it's really badly managed: On departure, we were presented with a card to give our reasons for leaving. No apology, no offer of a refund of the unused nights. I'd seriously think twice about staying there. It would be fine for £50/night, but honestly, it's the biggest rip off ever, riding on the back of a wonderful location.

"Great location, tired resort"

Koh Kradan is a beautiful, quiet Thai island with limited accommodation options. This resort is at the top end of the options on the island and while it isn't bad, it is not luxurious either. However, if you have decided to stay on Kradan (and who could blame you), and you require 24 hour hot water, a proper breakfast, nice cocktails, etc. then this is the resort for you. You will need to accept though, that other than the beach front, the resort feels really tired. The pool is not particularly inviting, the restaurant and bar simple (with rubbish and rubbish bins on show). The grounds are also basic and no effort has been made to really landscape or even conceal air-con units, etc. Rooms and beds are a good size, and the rooms minimalist. So minimalist though that they don't even include a wardrobe or chair. If you want to hang clothes you need to go to the outside bathroom area where there is a pole over the tea/coffee facilities. Hopefully you don't want to hang a dress. The bed is comfortable except for the heavy duvet, which requires you to crank up the air-conditioning to the max of you want to use it... Completely against the alleged environmental ethic of the hotel. We really just wanted a sheet to cover us. Be sure to use the mosquito net as Kradan is worse than other places in Thailand in this respect (I never saw any geckos in 4 days on the island). Overall the rooms are in need of renovation. The open restaurant is good but quite pricey and we preferred a short walk to the Thai restaurant next door (head south). There are also good pizza options to the north. Breakfast is decent by international standards... and sensational by koh Kradan standards, and this is why I have stretched to a four star review. They do a good happy hour 4-6 and 9-10 and I highly recommend the alcoholic milkshake cocktails. The best snorkeling is 150 meters off the cost, 200 metres north of the resort.

"Good quality, high price"

Some of the complains in the forum are true such as no wifi signal in the rooms, ants eating leftover food, open bathroom with tap and shower water smelling the metals from the piping. On the other hand, the service was very friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable, restaurant was good, breakfast simple but delicious, the beach is pristine and almost exclusive for the guests. The rates are a high but I feel compensated by the great time there and good service.

"Nicest on Kraban?"

Very nice snorkeling just out from the hotel. A bit basic breakfast, and maybe not 5* rooms, but we are on an unhibated island. Breakfast a bit basic, but veyr nice staff and a very nice location. Was unfortunately sharing the outdoor bathroom with mosquitos at night. But that is suppose to be seasonal.
