My stay was fine but I would like an email address of Ibis Christchurch so I can discuss double payment My email address you have. RSVP please To me this matter is important and I don't want the run around..
I stayed in this hotel for a night while on business. The greeting was functional. The location was good as it was within easy walking distance of the major sights in the city. Roadworks in town made it a little difficult to get to but that is only a temporary thing. The room was small. The soundproofing was not great - was awoken in the middle of the night with late arrivals coming home down the corridor. I seemed to use my "allowance" of internet within a very short time - not sure what happened there but who knows with data consumption. The stand out to me was the restaurant for dinner. The standard of food at dinner was far above what I would expect for a chain such as Ibis - I am glad I was tired and stayed in for dinner.
"Perfect location, great service "
The Ibis is a hotel chain where you can pretty much expect what the facilities are like as well as the standard of accommodation. What makes Ibis Christchurch really special is the warmth of service from the staff. Their attentive hospitality was very much appreciated when we had a late night check-in, and we had various transfers and activities to confirm. They chose to go above the call of duty to help us. The hotel is right at the heart of Christchurch CBD which makes is a central location to anything you'd need- it's all within walking distance. The buffet breakfast at this hotel is great value (considering the lack of reasonably priced brunch spots in the immediate area). On a side note, The local community has shown such great resilience and strength of spirit to continue on after tragic natural disasters. It was humbling to see the rebuild effort. I recommend going to Christchurch to see and support the city, even though a lot of it is still under construction. We had a relaxing time and we were satisfied with the facilities.
"Functional, gets the job done"
The rooms were clean and well designed. However, there are few views to be had, and the room we had faced a drab Grey building. The beds were comfortable while the bathroom was functional. How every, the hotel charges $26 dollars a night for parking. This was affordable when you compare it to Wilsons parking, which would charge you a similar amount, but not to other hotels which may offer the parking for free. Be aware that they have very limited parking spots so it may be worth calling into pre book. They do have a morning breakfast buffet, but we just bought croissants from the lobby which was quite affordable and hearty. Location wise, it is in the middle of the city and everything is in walking distance. Given all the road closures and one ways as a result of earthquake reconstruction works, and the fact that Google Maps doesn't know of these, you may need to drive around a few times before finding the hotel car park entrance. For free wifi, apply to become an Accor member, otherwise they'll charge you for wifi.
"3 night stay."
We booked two extra nights before our tour with AAT KINGS as we wanted to visit the Trans Alpine train but that trip was cancelled due to bush fires so we used the hotel as a base to explore Christchurch as it is in the centre and reminders of the terrible Earthquake surround the hotel. The room was adequate, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful.
