"Relaxing oasis in Luang Prabang"
Just an easy stroll from the main centre lies this lovely charming hotel where the staff are only to eager to please and always with lovely smiling faces. The Wat opposite adds to the authentic charm of this wonderful hotel and would certainly hope to return one day. The pool was a great place to sit after a cruise down the Mekong and enjoy cocktails before dinner. Our bedroom was quite, comfortable and clean with everything provided including adapters and mossie repellent. Thanks to all at Maison Souvannaphoum
"Charming old world"
A wonderful sanctuary at the end of our Asian journey. Well kept grounds. Excellent staff and service. Perfect position for walking to markets and riverside. Monastery next door allowed us to wake early to watch gathering of alms without having to walk very far at all. Highly recommended.
Would definitely recommend staying here in Luang Prabang! It's really great value for money. The hotel is walking distance to everything in the city and around the corner from upscale bars and restaurants like Manda de Laos. The rooms are on the small side, but very clean and with nice terraces. The pool was almost always empty and was a great place for relaxing after a hot day touring around. Plus they had a great happy hour with good cocktails! I would say the only downside is the breakfast buffet, which was hit or miss and had below average coffee.
Spent three nights there and throughly enjoyed it. An older styled building which has been sympathetically converted to a small hotel. Rooms, food, facilities and extremely helpful staff made our stay a joy. Breakfasts had a plentiful variety of food and staff were always on hand to help. The pool was a welcome retreat after a day of sightseeing and was a lovely facility to recharge batteries before dinner and the night market which is only a short walk away. However, as the hotel is on the outskirts of town, it is very quiet and peaceful during the night. Would recommend this to friends who wanted something with character and charm.
"Liked everything about it. "
We stayed three nights on our first ever trip to Laos. We really liked the hotel. It is quiet, despite being on a main road and with a side road up the back of the garden wing where our room was. We had a ground floor garden wing room (103) which had a terrace with two comfortable chairs and a table looking across to the main building and the pool. The room is a good size with a walk in shower as part of a spacious bathroom. They provide free water, fruit and soft drinks in the room and a paid minibar for alcoholic drinks. Bed was large and comfortable with nice bedding and pillows. The pool area is very nice with banana trees behind it and next to the bar, restaurant area. There's a further bar in the garden on the road side of the building which does cocktails early evening. The breakfast is really good. Buffet style with nice bread, croissants, muffins and a range of hot and cold options. The hot options changed daily and there is a chef to cook eggs and noodle soup. The restaurant in the hotel is called Elephant Blanc and does decent food although prices in the hotel for food and drinks are a little on the high side for the area.
