Zoals Pioneer Suite, ruimer (73m2).
"Seven Night Stay"
We spent seven nights at the Luang Say Residence and could not imagine having a better home in Luang Prabang for our stay. We had two exploratory rooms in the main building, and actually cancelled our onward journey to stay three more nights. The rooms are simply great and the staff is wonderful. I actually wouldn't want to stay in the town center, as it's too touristy for me and is only 5 minutes away. If you like to ride bikes, it is more enjoyable to simply ride a bike to the center. Highlights: 1. Francis is a great hotel manager, assisted by great people. 2. The breakfast is perfect. 3. The staff at the restaurant/desk are great people and make your stay feel like a personalized experience. Very "homey." We got to know everybody by first names. 4. The architecture and grounds are fantastic (yes, they are doing some work next to the pool to build an outdoor restaurant, but I didn't find it annoying). Anyway, it will be done soon. 5. The pool is the best you can get. 6. They took us into town whenever we wanted (just 5 minutes). There are also tons of bikes and, for me, is the best way to get into the town center. 7. They have a free afternoon tea that risks making you unable to have room to eat dinner. 8. Sitting on the veranda of the explorator room and looking over the grounds to the hills is a perfect experience. Drawbacks: 1. Old style electric plugs behind furniture (don't know why, it's a very modern structure). I just used my multiple plug extension and problem solved. 2. Yes, food is expensive, but the free huge and excellent breakfast really makes up for the lunch/dinner costs. 3. Maybe book your own tours as I think there is a surcharge. I was conflicted about writing a review. I liked this place so much that I didn't want it to get more popular as I do want to return! We had initially thought we would stay at the Bel...d, but this left us extremely pleased that we paid half the price of that place with twice the satisfaction. Thanks to a great crew that made our stay wonderful.
"Nice hotel but..."
The hotel is nice, the rooms are huge and are the best part of the stay. There's quite a bit of language barrier with the staff. The price of cocktails and food are ridiculas. The food also isn't all that great. Considering the price and quality of everything in Laos only use the hotel to sleep in as the rooms are good. Just don't hang about in the hotel. They actually sell candles in the Lobby for 80USD dollars... This is LAOS! People.... Also the pool looks like a construction site as they are building a new restaurant, so you can hear power tools while relaxing at the pool.
"Wonderful, old style, hotel."
We booked the Luang Say Residence on the recommendation of friends and were not in any way disappointed. Our welcome was warm and genuine and all the public spaces - reception, bar and dining area - spacious and so appropriate for the tropics. Our suite was charming and more than large enough with everything laid out with care, and plenty of space to store clothes properly. The bathroom was huge and functioned really well. We used the dining area for several meals apart from breakfast which was included in the price. The breakfast options should meet all needs - most days we had the traditional Lao noodle dish which was excellent. While the prices for the other meals were 'international' the food was excellent and clearly freshly prepared. Afternoon high tea was complementary, superb and very generous. The new pool area is delightful - blending cleverly into the garden. Service throughout was faultless - all staff engaged with confidence and were most helpful in giving advice and organising transport and excursions. So why only 4 and not a 5 star rating? The site of the Residence is just a little too far from the main heritage area of Luang Prabang to walk - although we were provided with transport on most occasions we needed it. Secondly we were unable to adjust the air conditioner fan speed so that at night it was necessary to turn it off to reduce the noise. In hotter weather, this would not have been possible. But we would highly recommend this very high quality establishment. All the staff went out of their way to meet our needs at all times. Also Luang Prabang is quite wonderful!
This is one of the best hotel that I've stay. I love the room devotion to most. Lovely and big king size bed. Room is spacious and well equipped with modern facilities. Our room has a balcony where you can just lying down and relax to enjoy the natural scenery around, see the sunset or sunrise or just reading books. That was so enjoyale. We wish that we could stay here forever.
"Have to be back for sure!"
This colonial hotel just too good! Very friendly and good services! Have selection of breakfast menu but not buffet. They have bicycles to borrow too, which is good to ride around in Luang Prabang. I like the room and happy to had a shot trip here. They have very comfortable bed and nice bathroom but the toilet I'm not really like it! I need more privacy when I have to use it and not to much holes on the door like that! By the way if I go to Luang Prabang again will stay here again.
