Raffles Hotel

"The Grand Old Lady of the East" vervuld van grandeur en tijdloze stijl is een instituut in Singapore.

Over Raffles Hotel

"Raffles is a living legend and legends have made Raffles one of the most famous hotels in the world."

"Total bliss!!"

It's quite difficult to put into words how amazing staying at the Raffles in Singapore really is. And forget photos, they don't do the place any justice. It's simply unbelievable and it felt like a privilege to stay there. Being welcomed with Singapore slings was so good! It was such a comfortable check-in experience sitting on the lounge chairs at that amazing lobby! We stayed in the Noel Coward suite and loved it! It's spacious, comfortable and so stunning. It transports you to back when and really makes you think you are living in olden times. The small lounge room in the suite is so cute! The bed was extremely comfortable and I loved our little table just outside the room where we could enjoy our Nespresso machine coffees and look at the tourists in the courtyard below. Talking about the tourists touring the hotel, yes, they can be a nuisance for guests. I suggest skipping the high tea and enjoying the Tiffin room for breakfast only. I didn't have the high tea but could clearly see that it is not an attraction for the guests. The breakfast was amazing!! Delicious a la carte options and a perfect small quality buffet. Worth every penny. The selection of fruit (huge strawberries and I've never had raspberries at a hotel breakfast before) is very good. And the homemade yoghurts are to die for! Marvin was fantastic! He looked run off his feet but was so attentive, polite and friendly. Actually, all the staff members we encountered were extremely pleasant. The pool was gorgeous! An awesome oasis in a big city. It would be hard going back to Singapore now and not staying at the Raffles. It just feels like they just do everything better than other hotels. Just go for it! #besthotelexperienceever

"History and class"

We recently ended a holiday with a three night stay at Raffles in Singapore. I wanted to stay at Raffles before it was closed for refurbishment and so was intrigued as to whether I would love it's old fashioned tradition and decor or whether it would be 'faded glory'. I absolutely loved it and would encourage any one to stay here before it closes in December. We had a Palm Court Suite overlooking the courtyard and the room was fabulous. I loved the entry parlour and dining area, the bedroom was huge and the bathroom was spacious. Yes, we did experience a few plumbing issues (shower going hot then cold and only hot water on our last day) but it all strangely added to the charm of the place. Our butler John, was always on hand and he arranged for a complementary bottle of champagne for our wedding anniversary and our room was also decorated on our last night. Check in and out was a breeze (done in our room) and we were also given complementary Slings in the Writer's bar on our arrival. Breakfast in the Tiffin Room was first class and we also enjoyed the curry buffet in the evening - highly recommended. We were lucky with the weather and got to enjoy a couple of mornings around the splendid rooftop pool - the service up there both from the bartender and the delightful lady who arranged our towels and complimentary water was spot on. Finally, we arranged the hotel's 1962 Daimler to take us to and from the airport and this is something not be missed. Driving through the streets of Singapore with the Raffles flag flapping in the wind is something we will never forget. One of the finest hotel experiences you can find - thank you so much Raffles and we look forward to seeing the outcome of the refurbishment when we are back in March 2019.

"enjoyed travelling back to the 20s"

Toursitic afteroon bar visit, post lunch for a singapore sling for my father in laws' 70th birthday treat. I was about to book a steak lunch there too until I saw the reviews of other diners who complained about the quality for the $400 bill per couple. Don't mind paying good money for good quality, but not to be ripped off. So we headed instead to Bistecca Tuscan steak House first which was absolutely lush but with a $900 price tag for lunch for 6. Our group had 5 normal Sngapore slings which I personally didnt think much of. But I opted for the Sakura sling with lychee in it and it was gorgeous. The bill came in at $250 for the 6 slings so its definately a one off treat but nice nostalgic atmosphere and the gift shop sold some lovely things in it. You could also get a nice bar magnet for $5 as a lovely souvenir atthe bar counter. The long bar is currently closed for renovations fyi. The bar service was without a smille and the cocktails arrived so fast I think they were already made up which feels somewhat of a get you in and out approach. Didnt like messy peanut shells all over the floor - experienced in american bars before but doesnt seem fitting in the place and made the floor slippy for us ladies with heels.

"Slightly Disappointed!"

We visited the hotel because it was always our wish to experience a 'Sling' at its Singapore home, where it was created. Unfortunately for us, both the Long Bar and Billiards room were undergoing renovation, which meant that we had to use the Tea Room for our cocktail experience. Service was slow (had to queue for 20 minutes) and the cocktails were very pricey! Somewhat disappointing, but still worth a visit.

"Colonial nostalgia"

Amazing stay, like stepping back in time. Service was incredible as were the Singapore Slings. Being an Englishmen I loved the high tea, reminded me of the stories my grandfather told me about his time in Asia. Would definitely come back.
