Amazing Hotel. Expensive compared with other local hotels, but no regrets at all. Great beach, great pool, great room, great staff, great service, great breakfast, great restaurants and beautiful surroundings.

"Third stay in the amazing resort though few glitches experienced this time"

Had booked 2 rooms. As always, the resort is amazing and as you can read from other reviews, it is one of a kind especially for a first-timer but since this is the third stay I believe I am in a state to compare to the flawless experience during the first 2 visits. The room wasn't ready upon arrival and had to wait till 3:15 pm; however, was offered a complimentary lunch, which is a nice gesture but being charged 100 baht for 3 glasses of water is kind of awkward as I believe water should have been part of the complimentary meal!!!! In total, was charged more than 700 baht for 3 bottles of beer + water and the restaurant staff weren't too hospitable, especially the mid-aged lady (Thai Restaurant), they should learn from Ms. Keaw of Seven Seas as how to treat guests (Ms. Keaw remembered me from the previous visits and I find her to be one of the best restaurant staff I've ever interacted with, she is a gem). Second issue was the front desk staff refusing us to have breakfast at Seven Seas and were asked to go to the Thai restaurant instead but just as we were going down, she changed her mind and informed us we can go to Seven Seas if we wanted to---- kind of embarrassing in front of my friends!!! I am a loyal customer and will keep coming back as the pros outweigh the few negligible cons and I am sure these glitches will be ironed out at my next visit.

"Beautiful Resort"

We booked at the Pimalai Resort as we read all of the wonderful reviews and the experience did not disappoint. We were in Ko Lanta for our honeymoon and staying at Pimalai sure made our experience even better. The amenities that the hotel offered exceeded our expectations. The Pimalai staff were very kind, helpful an extremely professional. The grounds are very well maintained as well as every area in the hotel. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ko Lanta or Thailand for that matter.

"Perfect little slice of heaven"

We stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't have been more impressed by everything. From the moment you are met in the arrivals hall at the airport, transferred in their brand new mini vans to their own private jetty, speed boat transfer to the hotel, and the same to go back, while Koh Lanta can be a bit fiddly to get to, this is all taken care of by Pimalai. The staff throughout the whole experience are so kind and welcoming. The views are incredible, watching the sunset with a glass of wine each evening was such a special experience. They have 2 amazing infinity pools, plus private beach. We went out on a catamaran one day which was really fun. The hotel helped us to organise our own private longtail boat for one day so we could go the some of the nearby areas at our leisure. The restaurants are great, especially 7 Seas with fantastic welcoming staff. And excellent leisure facilities, tennis, gym, yoga... We really did have a perfect stay here and will for sure be back.

"Wow....what other word describes this place?"

We were greeted at the airport and had a shuttle ride to the boat dock where we boarded a very clean speedboat with indoor/outdoor seating. Our bags were brought on board by staff. The ride took about 50 minutes and the seas were calm. We arrived at the "locking modular" floating pier which juts out from the beach about 70 meters into the sea. Now this is not an easy pier walk to negotiate for anyone with balance problems. Staff will carry your bags, but you have to have decent balance to negotiate walking on this floating pier. It is not a matter of waves as there are very few waves in this protected beach. Fortunately staff will help you but it might be better if this floating pier was 1-2 units wider as this is a challenge. Once on dry land, this place is near perfection....half of the resort villas and 7 Seas Restaurant and pool are on the hillside and the other half of the resort and restaurants/beach bar / beach pool are beachside.....a buggy takes you from the beach up a winding hill to the resort. Check in was fast. We stayed in Villa 904, which is a huge complex with an infinity pool and outdoor bale/cabana, separating the bedroom/bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, privacy porch area ++, on one side, from the living area, kitchen, and another bathroom on the other side. The pool was huge and very clean. Privacy from all other villas is complete. The views cannot be described adequately as you are looking out and down the jungle hill out to the sea and beyond, as the sun sets..... We had excellent room service, and cleaning service every day. Buggies come quickly to pick you up after you call the front desk as it can be a bit of a slightly long walk to the restaurant. The 7 Seas restaurant had an Italian wine maker's dinner the night we arrived there but it was sold out (25 seats) early in the afternoon. We did eat breakfast every day at 7 Seas and the food selection and quality was unparalleled. Huge selection of food so one never got tired of the choices. Never had any problems getting tables with views nor in any food being unavailable. The resort manager was on hand every morning and introduced himself. Our friends had a birthday dinner bbq cooked at their villa one night and it was perfect. Food, service, ambience....Perfect. We also ate at the restaurant on the beach, Rak Talay, and the ambience of being among palm trees on the sand was terrific. We also enjoyed the beach bar as well. Service was impeccable. This bar is very close to the beach so access is perfect. There is also a catamaran available to take out, and since there are no waves here it is very easy to take it out off the beach. We booked a full day snorkeling tour of the two Ko Rok islands with Freedom Dives (Kate). This was excellent snorkeling with safe, calm, clear waters, very good equipment, a very large boat with Kate's husband +2 crew plus only 4 of us on board, full lunch and drinks provided. and a friendly crew who even swam with us and pointed out parts of the reef that we would have missed. It was also important to know that our boat did not anchor amidst the coral but did have moorings farther away so as not to be in any position to damage the reefs. We went to three individual sites on both islands. All 3 sites were teeming with sea life. We thought the price was very reasonable. This was a well planned event. I recommend this to everyone. We also went into town one night, ostensibly to try out a town restaurant and the local beach bar scene. After the buggy ride down to the flat land from our villa, we walked a reasonable distance 1 km on flat land into town. Sadly, the Ribs and Jazz restaurant advertised on line was no longer open, and the beach bars were not open either. The photos shown of a hopping night life, on line are not indicative of what we experienced. The town is mostly for backpackers with very inexpensive meals, pharmacies, and tea houses. We did manage a very nice basic meal at the Pad Thai Rock and Roll Restaurant, where the owners play guitar in a local band. Very casual. And it is cooler to sit outside next to the open kitchen than to sit inside. Food was very good and cheap and we ordered seconds. Service was very friendly. Hard to find fault with anything other than the floating pier which would be better if it was wider. Highly recommend this resort to everyone.
