"Wow! Paradise"

   24-05-2017
Everything were just fantastic. What a place:) Situated at an own beach for the resort. Two fantastic pools. The Bungalows were great. Well planned and beautiful surroundings. The bed comfy. The service warm and welcoming. A dive and activity center and a lot of other options behind the resort in the village. You could also visit the restaurants behind the resort even though the hotel restaurants were fantastic. Really liked the "cool" room for cheese etc that gets really bad in the heat. This fits anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of Thailand and is perfect for couples on honeymoon, people who loves relaxing or the active teenage family who wants to go on daily activities and then come back and relax at the hotel. It does not fit the people who wants to go partying in Tonsai. But I have to say that the resort should take new photos as the pictures on their homesite don't represent and catch the beauty and the feeling at the resort. We booked boat tours both with the hotel's activity center and with Mr Mote in the village behind. Both were great but Mr Mote was more energetic and fun. No real difference in price. Mr Mote is reviewed separately. You can either go there directly from Phuket with a speed boat booked via the hotel. They also arrange with a car to pick up or leave at the airport. They leave twice a day. Or you take a boat to Tonsai and then a long tail boat. The hotel meet you up at the pier and costs 201 baht one way. Enjoy!!!

"Fun, Unique out of the way Resort."

The resort "private boat" is actually a 26' boat that they cram 12 people in. Yes it was the resorts boat but def not "private" We did take a real private boat back from Kho-Phi-Phi and it wasn't that much, but we split it with another couple. Arriving is hoot. At a low tide the boat can't get anywhere near the beach so a tractor and wagon drives out and picks you and your luggage up. When arriving l though Kong was going to come out of the jungle, that how exotic and tropical the resort and surrounding mountains look. The resort itself is secluded. If you want to go into town, you need to take a boat to get there. There is a very small village behind the resort that we went almost every night for really great food. I wouldn't say the beach is very good for swimming, the beach is very hard sand (hard enough to drive a tractor on) and somewhat rocky. Our room was huge and very, very nice and the grounds are spectacular. the pools are excellent and swim-up bar was the social place to hang out. We can't say enough for the spa staff. My husband and I went everyday and the staff is amazing and extremely reasonable by U.S. standards. I highly recommend both Cake and Poo for massages - thats their names. lol. This is a great location to do side trips to the other islands. The resort will pack you lunch and drinks or whatever you want to bring on the tour. We read about horrible mosquitos there but we never got bit once, so it wasn't an issue.

"Lovely place but slightly let down by beach"

   23-05-2017
It would have been 5 stars as the rooms are perfect, staff friendly and good facilities. However, the beach at low tide results in the sea pulling far away and you just look over muddy sand. It's not bad as it's still relatively clean and you can walk to get to the water, but it's an annoyance when having young children. Besides that, a fantastic place with a nice little village behind it.

"It all felt like a dream....."

This place is a amazing place to stay- From the moment you arrive (by boat) and see the clear blue water and palm tree lined beach- The staff are outstanding in every way- facility's are top of the line- The 3 restaurants are pure quality- "Amazing value for money"

"Two Reviews for two types of travelers"

   22-05-2017
Ok. Fresh off my stay at Phi Phi Island Village Resort and I have two reviews to give. Whichever type of person you are when out and about traveling should be the review you take to heart. No matter which way you tend to lean the island itself is beautiful and you'll have a great time. I hope these reviews help you better understand what you're getting into. PS if you're going to do the Mana Bay tour try to get an early bird one otherwise you'll be surrounded by people while you try and enjoy paradise as best you can while feeling like a sardine. Review #1 If you like staying at resorts... PPIVBR is exactly that. A resort. Phi Phi island doesn't have any major roads to speak of and the resort itself is a 20 minute long tail boat ride away from the main pier where the ferry drops you off. Once you get off the ferry the resort has a long tail waiting for you at 200 baht per person to take you to the resort. Once you're on the resort your meant to stay there for the whole duration of your stay so if you want to see the main town on Phi Phi walk around for a while. You can always find another long tail waiting to take you and if it's less than 200 baht then you're still ahead. The resort is picturesque upon arrival and everything from food to activities ranging from island hopping tours to scuba diving is all available there. Massages. Check. Tennis courts. Check. Yoga. Check. Two pools. Check. Three restaurants. Check. We took their early bird Mana Bay tour and had a great time. We also went scuba diving where they take care of everything for you in terms of equipment so there's nothing keep strenuous to do than slide into your BCD and hop into the water. You get the idea. With all that being said just know there is a markup to all of that about double or triple the price anywhere else in Thailand. One massage at their spa was the same price as two plane tickets from Phuket to Chiang Mai where we went through next. For some people that's not a big deal and why you choose to stay at a resort. I get that. Enjoy yourself. It's all been taken care of by the resort. Review #2 If you travel to see other cultures... PPIVBR is a resort. Not a town. Just a representation of local culture but serving a cheeseburger you can trust at a price you're used to in The States. I recommend the resort for the quality of room you get but if you want to be IN Thailand you'll find this is pretty "safe" with all things considered. SO... behind the resort is a local town that gets you a little closer to the people who live and work and make families and everything that makes up other cultures. The food is priced like it should be in Thailand... so is the laundry service, the very same island tours, and scuba diving trips, and bars, and everything else you've coke to expect while out here. The village is behind the tennis courts and was my favorite part of our stay I'm glad we didn't sleep in a "hotel" or "resort" back there but it's incredible to walk to. Behind that village is a road to other parts of the island but outside of one beach you're looking at an hour walk. Rent a bike if you're comfortable with that or be ready to spend some quality time on two feet. You can also rent a long tail back in the local town as well if you prefer that and much cheaper than the resorts prices. Check out trip advisor for reviews of all the places to eat back there that don't look like much but cook circles around most Thai food you've had. Just know the town is right behind you and filled with adventures at rock bottom prices. But... you have to do your homework and check into all that or just be comfortable with a mild amount of risk.
