Our favorite

"Silver Anniversary"

We had a lovely stay at The Cape Cadogan. The staff are friendly and helpful but not oppressive. The food is to a very high standard and our room was large, to a very high standard and you could look at Table Mountain from our private balcony.

"A very civilized experience"

After a rather rough cruise experience, we were looking forward to a little downtime on land before going home. I did not feel like booking a chain hotel. Cape Town has a lot of lodging options. I picked the Cape Cadogan because it seemed like a really interesting small hotel, intimate and personable. TripAdvisor made it easy for me to book a room, but I had to do it months in advance - Cape Cadogan is a very popular place. Ashley and Chanelle at MORE (the owners of the Cape Cadogan) were extremely helpful in arranging a car at our cost to pick us up from the Cape Town cruise terminal, and setting up an all-day personal car tour of the nearby Winelands, also at our cost. There was a small kerfluffle in that the front desk had no record of the tour but this was straightened out immediately. The driver and guide the hotel obtained (Rudy Slingers, who I will happily recommend to anyone visiting Cape Town) was friendly and knowledgeable, and took us not only to places we wanted to visit but also places we would never have been able to visit on our own. The hotel secured our luggage while we were gone and when we returned, it had been placed in our room. Each room is different than the rest, with its own personality. Ours, Room Seven, had high ceilings, a balcony, and a decent-sized bathroom (although the frosted glass half-walls could leave a bit too much to the imagination). The room was nicely equipped with satellite TV, a good-sized wardrobe with room safe, air conditioning, and a comfortable king-sized bed. We also received a tray of dried fruits, nuts and olives to snack on, a personalized welcome note, and evening turndown service. Very nice. There are two floors of rooms and a suite located across the patio. Disabled guests should be aware that there is no elevator, and should contact the hotel in advance to make special arrangements. There is a pub next door to the hotel which draws a big student crowd. The noise was noticeable since our room overlooked the street. The hotel "bar" is a mix-your-own drink cart in the corner of the lounge in the evenings - no complaints from us, there! The lounge is really comfortable and you can borrow books from the library across from Reception. In the warmer months, you can step outside the lounge onto the intimate interior patio, which has a plunge pool. The Cape Cadogan offers room service but, as far as I could see, no other meals other than breakfast. The staff was quite helpful in recommending restaurants and arranging dinner reservations. Breakfast is served in a nicely appointed room across the interior patio from Reception. It is a nice continental buffet but you can order hot selections from a menu. Our breakfast came with the room. The hotel is a short walk from the pubs and restaurants of Kloof Street. Much of downtown Cape Town is only minutes away by foot and it is possible to walk down to the shops and attractions of the V and A Waterfront. There is a Hop On/Hop Off stop on Orange Street, a couple of blocks from the hotel. The staff is warm and welcoming. We loved our stay - a pity we couldn't have stayed longer. I can see why other TA reviewers gave high marks to Cape Cadogan. It has more of a big country house feel than a regular hotel. If I were to return to Cape Town, this is the place I'd rather stay.

"Very Nice Accommodations"

   04-12-2016
We recently returned from South Africa and stayed at The Cape Cadogan hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is a small boutique style place with an exceptional staff. They helped us in suggesting where to eat and places to see along with helping us find a camera store to buy a new camera cable when we realized we forgot ours. Our room was small but perfect for us as we spent most our time exploring Cape Town and the peninsula. There are many different room types so a larger room is available if that is your desire. The room was quite nice and the breakfast served in their dining area was excellent. Lots of fresh fruit, breads and pastries are available before you place your order for a warm breakfast meal. I particularly enjoyed their eggs benedict. Their location is off Kloof Street where much is happening and many restaurants are available. They have a small pool in a quiet relaxing courtyard. I would stay here again.

"best stay I've had in Cape Town"

Really fantastic rooms and a absolutely beautiful hotel. You can't go wrong. Looking for a hotel centrally located, luxurious and beautiful. Look no further, you've found it. Definately going to stay here again.

"Cape town Jem"

Cape Cadogan is a lovely boutique hotel in the Garden District of Cape Town. The hotel is lovely and the staff amazing. So helpful and always gracious. The breakfasts are superb and more than you can really eat. The location was perfect for us and within walking distance of many restaurants and sights. Table Mountain is 1 mile away and the views are good.
