It's a budget hotel and for the price gets 5 stars Very neat room and size. Excellent breakfast for $1.Excellent service Couldn't fault the stay. If you want 5 star look elsewhere but this is right on the money Oh, excellent location
"Overnight stay enroute"
I booked this Ibis in error, i intended for the one at the airport so the $50 cab fare wasn't a good start. My fault, not theirs. As we had a 6am flight the next morning we only needed a place to shower and sleep. Unfortunately, neither of these were experienced. Apparently, the hot water system in the hotel had been turned off for maintenance and hence no hot water plus the shower head was filthy. The maintenance team came after about 45mins after we complained about no hot water only to be told it would be about 2hrs. Ibis have a 15min guarantee to fix any issues but that was not honoured. Our room 1534 was right next to the lift and under the stairs to the 16th floor ( no lift access to 16) so we were kept awake all night with guests coming and going.Room was tiny which is what you expect with Ibis, however, the bed was really comfortable and the room clean. Ok for an overnight stay but avoid room 1534
"Good for a short short term stay"
Overall we had a pleasant experience staying here recently. It was pretty much just a bed for an early flight in the morning. Arrived early and they were happy to keep our luggage safe as our room wasn't ready (we arrived early and headed out for the day). Abit disappointed about the parking, luckily we didn't need to take the car out until 2am so only the one $17.00 fee, not the $36.00 fee they offer for unlimited exits and re entry. The room itself had a terrible view, but was clean and tidy, nice comfy beds and simple clean bathroom. It suited the 4 of us as we were only onsite for maybe 10 hours total. We were pretty easy customers, no breakfast etc needed. My only complaint would be, the walls are way to thin. Our neighbors that backed onto our beds were so kind to be practicing the cello, ALOT....and anytime they closed a door we felt it. Maybe I was just grumpy as we had two kids and getting up at 2am, but enough that I don't think I would visit again. Also, the mini fridge hummed and vibrated quite loudly against the unit it was in. Information on restuarants close by and their own onsite would be handy. The only infomation we found in the room was a small menu. Never been to brisbane we ended up trekking for about 30mins to find somewhere suitable for the children to eat that wasnt maccas. Overall, clean, tidy, friendly service :)
Booked this hotel as it said there was parking, arrived at the hotel to find that parking was a block away and would cost a flat rate of $17 per night. I advised reception staff that i had to pick somebody up from the airport at 1am and therefor would have to take my car out twice within the stay. I asked if this meant i would be paying $17 twice. The guy on reception confirmed that i would have to pay the $17 twice. I was disappointed but not so much i could do about it at that point so left it. Left for the airport at midnight (feeling unsafe walking on my own a block away to the car) when i exited the car park i paid the $17 as expected. Checked out in the morning and the girl on the front desk asked if i had my code for parking, i advised her that i wasn't given a code and was told it would just be $17 each time i left the car park, she confirmed this would be correct. But obviously there was some code that i should have received to possibly get discounted parking that i did not receive. After checking out we trecked to the car park expecting to pay another $17 but as i got to the boom gates it came up as $35, my car had only been in there for 6 hours as i didn't get back from the airport until 3am. I told reception staff all of my plans BEFORE I LEFT, including times i would be coming to and from etc and they confirmed to me that both times i exited it would cost $17 each. I was extremely disappointed with this as i was completely misinformed and if i had have known i would be paying over $50 for parking that was a block away i would have stayed somewhere a bit more expensive with parking underneath the hotel. I emailed Ibis to inform them of my complaints and inconvenience 5 days ago and have still not received a response. If you stay here, please don't bring a car and if you wish to make a complaint about something, don't bother as you won't even receive a reply. Very poor service.
I think in general this hotel is good. Less than 15 minutes walk to city center. Only negative point of this hotel is its breakfast. In fact, the variety of buffet was to bad. There was only one type of bread, no jams or cheese, few kinds of fruit,... I would say do not book its breakfast
