Over Daintree Wilderness Lodge

Loved the property - intimate, welcoming and warm. Tucked well within the rainforest and seemingly miles and miles from society, but still a quick drive to any essentials. Great spot to head out for tours, food, etc.
"Terrific place to stay"
I regret that it has taken me so long to write this review as we stayed several months ago. This is a terrific place to stay. The last time that we were in the area, we were driving by and thought to take a look. We liked it and thought to give it a try on our next visit, which we did. We stayed for 3 nights. There are only so many places that you can stay in the area. We searched everything on line and have now stayed at Wilderness Lodge and Daintree Eco Lodge. After driving around the area and seeing the properties that we researched on line, I would say to be careful and thoroughly investigate everything. Otherwise, you may end up with less that you thought (think glorified camping grounds in many places). My wife and I think that the only places to stay in the area are Daintree Wilderness Lodge and the Eco Lodge. We looked at Silky Oaks and were not impressed. Daintree Wilderness Lodge is in the rainforest. The grounds are lovely and the cabins very comfortable. There was nothing else that we could have wanted. There is no television service, but you can use numerous DVDs. There is a lot of wildlife and we saw the cassowary and his chick every day. We unfortunately missed the large lace monitor lizard, but we apparently were on separate schedules. He did come daily, though. The manager/ proprietors David and Jennifer were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. This is a property run by two people with minimal additional help, thus you will be treated like a very special guest. David apparently has had some culinary training and knows what he is doing in the kitchen. The meals were terrific. I ate the same breakfast 3 days and the same filet both nights. They were that good. Al fresco dining in an intimate, rainforest atmosphere. Our minor concern about location was unfounded. That is, we were coming from Cairns and were going to be both in the Cape and Daintree regions, which are separated by the Daintree river, necessitating the use of a ferry for crossing. While it may seem pricey and inconvenient, the ferry was prompt and you could get a book of 10 vouchers for about $56, making it very economical. Don't let the river ferry deter you in any way. You'll likely see crocodiles while crossing, so that's a plus. We highly recommend Daintree Wilderness Lodge. In our opinion, the only other option in the area is the Eco Lodge, which is a slightly different experience (but great for dinner). David and Jennifer will give you a very personalized experience, rife with good food, great ambiance, exciting wildlife encounters, and total relaxation. We highly recommend the Daintree Wilderness Lodge.
A gorgeous place hidden in the rainforest and a perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquility. Owners looked after us well, yummy breakfast and dinner. Room was neat and tidy too. We will definitely visit again.
"Recharge the soul"
A lovely little place in the heart of the daintree. Jen and Dave who run the place are friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely, neat and comfortable. The food served at the restaurant is delicious. Do the nature walk in the daytime and at night (bring a good torch) to see some interesting wildlife. If you want a hotel and all the flash with it then this is not for you. But if you want tranquillity and peace that only an eco retreat can provide than you cant go past this place.
Cabins in the forest, but totally over priced for what you actually get. It is also rated and not that great! Cockroaches in the cabin with fleas in the bed. Had to get up during the night to shake out all the crawlies in the bed sheets.
