Over Intercontinental Sydney
Klasse!

"Returning to a Quality Hotel"
We try to run away to Sydney for a weekend at lest twice a year. This hotel is extremely busy this time of year. We checked in on the Friday and stayed till late check out on the Sunday. Again as always we were greeted with very friendly staff and again nothing is too much trouble. As I said at this time of year the hotel is full and there are a lot of Christmas parties but you would not know it form the amount of attention you receive from the staff. Everybody is always ready to help and the service is first rate but the big difference is they do it with a smile. As usual we are very glad to arrive and sorry to leave.
We recently stayed for our daughters 30th birthday. Check in easy, as always and the staff are lovely. Very nice lunch at the meat and wine co on the first floor. We booked our stay using points for both rooms and upgraded to the club lounge prior to arrival.. this lounge and the staff are always lovely and accommodating and brought up Corona from downstairs as it no longer stocked in the lounge.., thanks Roy for the service! Our room was nice, and was upgraded as are a ambassador but the switch going into the bathroom was filthy (around the wall paper) and looked very tired indeed. We were disappointed that no effort at all was afforded to our daughter on this special occasion. We mentioned it at check in and thought a bottle of wine may have been delivered...Nothing, Nada, Nothing and no mention of our celebration. We booked on line and there is an area regarding if it is an occasion, which we also filled in. The club lounge is just a lovely place to relax and the staff are lovely, just feel let down on this occasion.
"On the company tab Sydney Circular Quay"
Good sleep with quiet room on 10 Floor. Room service on time and good dinner. Steamed jasmine rice and steamed veges available as side dishes. Heeeaalthy! Pool was small with great views of harbor bridge from 31 floor. Swam the 60 circle rounds undisturbed on a Friday evening. Fitnestastic!! compact & tidy on 31 Floor. Breakfast a la carte was served very well in the opera cafe. Company paid so it was a good deal.
My wife and I stayed a night in a club access room at the Intercontinental Sydney on the 25/11 as part of our 10th anniversary weekend. The hotel as you would expect for a 5* hotel was very well run with lots of staff to assist and the breakfast at cafe opera was brilliant, but the star of the show (with a few small exceptions, but i'll get back to that) was the club lounge. The room while very spacious seemed a bit dated, but the worst part was the bathroom facilities. The shower took what seemed like an eternity for hot water to arrive and the pressure was lacklustre, then the toilet didnt seem to flush more than 6 squares of toilet paper at any one time. Now i'm all for conserving our natural resources, but when you pay in excess of AU$500 for a room you expect a bit more than what you'd get at your local gym. As i said before the star was the club lounge with views overlooking sydney harbour and the opera house and bridge. The canapes on offer were good (cold were self serve, hot were to order) and the drinks menu was outstanding. Overall we had a good stay at the Intercontinental, but I don't think i'd stay again as I think other hotels of the same ilk are better value for money
"A lovely stay for an extended visit to Sydney"
Spent 11 nights in this very good Intercontinental hotel. It was very well positioned and had fantastic amenities. A relatively small room for such a long stay but when checking in I was only a base level so understandable. Used the gym a few times and ate lunch and dinner on several occasions. Quality of the food was fabulous with a wide range of cuisines. Only downside on food was the price of breakfast which I decided to skip at $50 a day. Overall for such a long stay I was very pleased, staff were very friendly and great hospitality from senior management, including the GM. Looking forward to staying again in a couple of weeks.
