"Ditto - nice but tired."

Like many others have found and written this hotel is a little tired. We stayed here for several nights whilst touring Kakadu. This iconic hotel was my first choice. Everything was on hand, the staff were very helpful and friendly the rates for rooms and meals was good. The rooms themselves were tired in many ways, there were minor repairs required in our room which would have helped our stay. Possibly due to the popularity of the hotel it would be hard to repair everything but it needs to be done before it falls apart. The town is only small but has a very functional supermarket with a create café in it serving lovely fresh food and coffee.

"Good Location, a little tired, food in restaurant great."

Stayed three nights, probably should have stayed two. The hotel rooms are a little dated, The garden area around the pool at the moment is in need of replanting. The food in the restaurant was good. The staff friendly.

"Nice place, friendly staff"

I stayed one night here as part of an AAT Kings tour. I was travelling alone and thus eating by myself in the restaurant. The wait staff were friendly and made sure to come past and have a chat, and see if there was anything I needed. The food in the restaurant was really good. I had the kangaroo salad with bush plum sauce. The room was neat and tidy though not as modern as some places. Outside corridor area could use some sprucing up and a bit of a clean. The pool and garden area was nice but the mosquitoes were hungry so I would make sure to wear insect repellent.

"The best way to describe our stay is "We stayed at Faulty Towers""

On arrival the night reception manager was very helpful, friendly and informative. From there it wall all down hill. We were told dinner orders closed at 9pm. On earlier arrival we where then told we needed to hurry as dinner orders closed at 8.30pm, we arrived at 8.20pm. The table was not wiped down and we had to request it to be cleaned, there was no salt or pepper. We ordered two entrees, three mains, one was a special of the day. Then we were told they were sold out of the special about 10 minutes after ordering. The entrees - one being the crocodile dumpling just never arrived. The mains arrived, one steak was under done. The floor supervisor of the restaurant offered us a free drink or desert (nice thought but the entrees were ordered based on local produce. On the way out the employee on the cash register told me she thought there was nothing wrong with what happened and we were offered an alternative. At check out the next morning there was no enquiry as to our stay...don't think anyone cared to much really. Accommodation was dated, but clean, light out in bed side lamp... Suggestion: Leave this as a venue of last resort.

"A good hotel, in a great loaction- but it needs a bloody good clean!"

I have been visiting this hotel regularly since it opened almost 30 years ago. I like it, it's in a good location convenient to everything in the north of Kakadu. On this trip, the food was good, the staff were friendly and helpful but the housekeeping standard was simply woeful. Every day they failed to properly clean and tidy several aspects of the room and it's amenities. Bathroom, coffee making area, desk - none fully wiped down, cups not washed, towels not changed even after two days and leaving the used one in the bath as instructed. The coffee, sugar etc not topped up and the 'blown' carton of milk that was in the fridge on my arrival was retrieved from the rubbish bin where I put it and placed back in the fridge! Outrageous! All of the outdoor areas (except near the pool) were filthy; the floors along the route to the upstairs rooms and even the walls. Come on Croc , lift your game - Accor managers should be much better than this!
