"Interesting Resort"

   21-03-2017
Although this resort is an interesting design it is in need of some attention. The reception area was nicely presented but bathrooms are a bit dated and there was paint peeling off the room ceiling. The area outside the room was covered in gravel and seed pods fallen from the palm trees and needed sweeping. The restaurant food and service were satisfactory. The pool was good.

"Underrated Hotel and Restaurant"

   21-03-2017
The hotel is quite old but our room was clean and cool and in good repair. Reception and all staff were very welcoming. We had decided on the basis of reviews that we would not eat at the restaurant, however , fate intervened and we did. George, the barman, mixed a fine martini (with olive), the local steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection, served with crispy chips and al dente greens and the wine list was good with reasonable prices. We are surprised that this hotel gets such mediocre reviews given its remote location and the quality of our experience.

"confortable place"

   14-03-2017
the hotel is in the kakadu park and is ,room was big but a little bit dirty, Food was very good,The staff were all super friendly, Liked the display of aboriginal art as well. On the plus side our tour experience was outstanding.

"Not a great advert for our country"

   12-03-2017
A warm and friendly reception by the assistant manager (new from Ireland) was the only highlight of our stay. He couldn't do enough to help get us checked in and booked into tours. The hotel is shabby. Quality of rooms is not something the mercure should be proud of and is below what I have experienced with mercure in other locations. Bathroom could do with a scrub -scum on the bathtub is not hard to miss and even easier to clean. Carpet? Stained. Rest of the room low end motel quality. Food options were not too bad and quality reasonable. The brochure indicates a strategy to employ up to 4% indigenous. We didn't see a single indigenous person working in the hotel. In spite of that 4% as a target seems very low given the location of this hotel. We are after all in a region where with some will employment of indigenous people should be a not be hugely difficult. On the plus side our tour experience was outstanding.

"Stay was comfortable "

   04-03-2017
Stayed at the Croc for work. Was not tourist season so they gave us the rooms on the bottom floor near the pool. Room was basic but comfortable. Had the turn off the air cond. as it was freezing. Hard to do any work there though as the desk has no power adapters. They do have free wifi. Ate at the restaurant one night - it was pretty packed as locals were also eating there. The food is expensive for what you get as they know there is no where else much to go. ( go over to the caravan park for a good meal and reasonable prices). They did arrange a packed lunch for me for $20 which was great with more than enough food/drinks. Now the bakery has closed there is no where to get a good sandwich. The staff were all super friendly. Always feel safe staying here. Don't expect super luxury but it's top end accommodation for Jabiru and always comfortable. Don't forget to go say hi to the Parks Australia staff down at Bowali Visitors Centre. They will be able to guide you on where to go and what to see and are super knowledgable of Kakadu National Park. Pics: room and pool area
