"Overpriced resort"

   21-01-2017
As the only resort in miles they can price as they want. At hotels.com it claimed that the rooms should be 28 square meters, but the room was less than 20 and very basic. Bed was bad, after 2 nights our backs struggled. Toilet facilities was really dirty even if I came there 1 minutes after they cleaned it. The positive thing was the food quality, but to pricey. Almost double price compared with e.g. Alice Springs.

"Outback Luxury"

   13-01-2017
My husband and I visited in November during the off season, as a result the resort was only about 10% full with limited services available. The staff numbers were at a minimum. We booked a Deluxe Spa Room which was lovely. It featured 2 Queen Beds and an ensuite bathroom, with a large spa and private balcony. The window from the spa area provided a beautiful view, over a private, fenced off area. It looked like a landscape painting. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning coped very well, as it was extremely hot when we were there. Our tariff included breakfast, which was served as a full buffet in Carmichael's Restuarant (which included an egg and omelette station). The breakfast service started at 5 am, obviously catering for guests who wanted to visit the canyon before the day got too hot. Obviously the main reason for staying at the Kings Canyon Resort is to see Kings Canyon, which is not adjacent to the resort, but a 10 km drive away. In the summer months this is something you need to experience early in the day, as entrance to King's Canyon closes at 9 am (we were there at 6 am). Overall, we very much enjoyed staying at the Kings Canyon Resort. It is not cheap, but is easy to understand why you would need to pay a premium price in a place that is so remote. We thought King's Canyon was more spectacular than the better known Olgas and Uluru.

"Convenient"

If you're driving the red centre then this is one of the few places to stay. We were glad we'd booked a deluxe room, as this was adequate. It was pretty clean, with a small balcony and spa bath. Unfortunately the room smelled a bit of drains, and the air con was leaking a bit. For evening meal we ate at Carmichaels, the onsite restaurant, which was rather expensive but the only other option was pizza and I can't eat wheat, so we were a bit stuck. I understand that other options were closed on a seasonal basis. The staff were all friendly and that was nice.

"Spider resort"

   07-01-2017
We slept at kings canyon resort on our way from Ayers Rock to Alice Springs in order to visit Kings Canyon. The only good point is that the resort is quite close to the canyon. Once arrived we had the first good news: no water for the next 12 hours. Then in the room we found an incredible variety of wild life: spiders all around the ceiling, spiders' web in every corner and, last but not least, small beatles inside the pillow. Ok, you are in the middle of nowhere, but don't pretend to call it "resort". Finally, if you sleep there consider to bring your own food because everything costs two to three times more than usual. And the wifi, which you need to pay, is just available at the bar

"Moderate Hotel near Kings Canyon"

   06-01-2017
The hotel is some 8 KM from Kings Canyon. It is made up of a series of cabins in rows of five around the pool and some open ground. The room was nothing special, but OK. Reception was efficient if not overly friendly or customer focused. Breakfast and dinner were unmemorable - nothing special The only reason for staying is that you want to walk Kings Canyon - otherwise not much point.
