"Perfect family getaway"
We are a young family with a one-year-old daughter. We were travelling to Broome for a family holiday. From the moment you are collected from the airport by the resort transfer shuttle bus, the staff are friendly, good-humoured and incredibly helpful. We could not fault the service that they provided. We stayed in one of the bungalows. It was very spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well to keep the room cool and there was lots of natural light available through the large windows from wall to wall. The kitchen was reasonably well appointed and large enough to prepare meals for the little one, when required. The only difficulty we had was that the toilet is accessed from the outer room where the single beds - and, in our case, cot - are located. It means that if you need to use the toilet after the child(ren) has gone to sleep, you'll access it in the dark and be tip-toeing to not wake them. Another possible improvement would be a drying rack of some sort for wet swimmers and the towels, given that the resort quite rightly ask you not to hang things outside as it confuses the local birds - but this is perhaps nit-picking on my part. The bungalow was fantastic and we loved having it as our home for the week. The resort is easy to walk around and navigate. There are multiple eating options as well as in-room dining. The Sunset Bar was a great place to enjoy the sunset overlooking the beach in the afternoon with a cold drink and there's a grass area directly in front of it if the kids want to run around. The gym, tennis courts and other amenities are well-appointed and very well maintained. The family swimming pool and adjacent water park kept our daughter amused for hours each day - it is a great feature and we noticed how many other families spent a lot of time there with the children of all ages. The presence of lots of umbrellas, overhead shade cloths and natural shade from trees in that space was a real plus. We made good use of the tour desk to book camel rides, helicopter flights and a couple of local visits. The staff are well-informed, patient and make it very quick and easy to make enquiries or book anything you're interested in. Getting there is easy. It is a short trip from the airport on the resort transfer shuttle bus. There are also plenty of taxis available, if preferred - but beware that they seem to be quite expensive (even by comparison to Sydney). You can also catch the shuttle bus into town and back at certain times during the day. Alternatively, the bus stop is directly out the front of the resort and the routes and timetable are among the easiest to read and understand that we've seen. It's a flat fee of $4 per adult and $2 per child (free for seniors and infants) for each trip or you can buy a hop on/hop off all day pass. If you book a tour, we found that most will collect you from the resort, so that doesn't require any further effort on your part. Being directly across the road from the iconic Cable Beach is obviously a highlight. When the tide is low, it really is a magnificent sight and there is so much space and rocks and little pools to explore (if that's what your child, like ours, enjoys). The water is a delightful temperature but obviously there is the risk of jellyfish at certain times of the year. The resort pool is usually a better option for a swim. The wi-fi internet was available but often didn't provide a great connection. We weren't particularly bothered by this as we only used it a couple of times but someone who required good connection may find this to be a problem. It may be better in the reception area, we didn't check. All in all, this was a perfect place for our family getaway. We will undoubtedly be back.
"Stunning gardens & facilities - and location!"
I'd always wondered how the Cable Beach Club could justify the seemingly high price of a night accomodation, until I visited. Whilst I did not stay, but enjoyed for a day, it is easy to see how after visiting. I don't regret where I stayed and the opportunity to try a selection of Broome's restaurants however this is the perfect place if you never want to leave. So many pool, activity and food options - my meal was delicious and prompt at Kitchi Kitchi despite being peak lunch period, yet was definitely cooked fresh. Service friendly also. The sunset bar is without doubt a highlight and a visit to Broome isn't complete without visiting this bar. School holidays when I visited so lots of families with kids, very busy in the main pool however the ocean pool was much quieter and less "noise/people".
"Awesome experience want ever forget. "
We stayed for 5 nights and had a great all round experience, from the moment of our arrival at check in, walking through the tropical gardens to our room in the eucalyptus wing room 251, to relaxing in a comfy chair at the sunset bar for a round of cocktails and bar snacks, while watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean and Cable Beach. You could not ask for more form the friendly staff, from the ladies who made up our room to the wait staff in the restaurants and the ever helpful Patric the pool manager who spoke to his staff so respectfully and gracefully in front of other staff and guests it's was a delight to witness. Our room over looked the adults only pool area which is spacious and appointed with pool lounges, two person wicker gazebos, large umbrellas to shade you from the Broome sun and a veranda decking area with comfortable launch seating right alongside a well appointed bar where icy cold drinks, delicious cocktails and tasty burgers fries and pizza could be ordered to sustain you while you lounged around the massive lagoon pool reading your favourite novel or chatting to your friends or loved one. We ate at all the restaurants on site and found all the dinning options excellent with all tastes catered for, special mention must be paid to though to zensai the resorts Japanese restaurant, you must dine here when you stay here as I believe it to be as good as any capital city restaurant to be, and in some ways better, it's a small intimate dinning area with a menu of outstanding quality and wines to match. Once agin the staff are excellent and their knowledge of the food and accompanying wines outstanding. I could go on and on about this resort and struggle to find any negatives, but if there was one it would be that this is a family friendly resort and with that in mind there can be lots of noisy children at breakfast time if you so chose the breakfast buffet option as part of your tariff, I would suggest to eat breakfast early around 630 and be gone by 8, apart from that children and families have a separate pool relaxing area so it's nothing to really get upset over. You can have cheaper holidays in Fiji, Bali and Thailand, keep your hard earned dollars in Australia supporting Australian jobs and our tourist industry because I believe this resort to be one of the best I've stayed in. To sum up the resort facilities are awesome the food is awesome the scenery and soundings are terrific, the staff are so nice to deal with and go out of their way to make YOU feel special, one thing you must do is sit on cable beach arm around a loved one and watch the sunset, it's a magical experience and a magical place to spend time with the one or ones that are special in your life.
"Iconic Broome Experience "
Very well maintained and staffed. Lord McAlpine placed Broome on the tour map with the construction of this resort in the 70's and its charm has been enhanced with additional blocks of rooms built in the same style. As it was school holidays, we made good use of the adult only second swimming pool and had no difficulty securing comfortable chaises longues. Beautiful big rooms with efficient room service and cleaning. This is an expensive resort but it really is value for money.
"Lovely and cruisey"
We ended up in Broome when our Hamilton Island trip was cancelled by Cyclone Debbie. Not sorry! The resort was fab! Cruise up to the pool in the morning, laze and swim wander into town for lunch and watch the sunset at Cabble Beach in the evening. The staff were attentive when you needed but not obtrusive. We had a fabulous week lazing by the pool, just what we needed! Can't wait to come back!
