Over DULC Holiday Cabins

"Peaceful Bush Getaway"
We stayed at DULC for 3 nights for our first visit to Halls Gap and the Grampians. We're a family of 4 (with 2 kids) so chose the mountain view twin cabin. We're already missing our little luxe cabin and wishing we'd booked an extra night! The cabins are private and in a tranquil bush setting with lots of local wildlife literally on your doorstep (native birds, wallabies and bats). The king beds were very comfortable and we loved the gas fireplace (a treat on a chilly night/morning), the rain shower and the little kitchenette. We stocked up on provisions at the Woolworths in Stawell on our way to Halls Gap and cooked some simple meals in the cabin. The thoughtful touches made our stay even more special - Molten Brown toiletries, ground coffee and a mini espresso machine, magazines to flick through and the kids appreciated the little collection of DVDs. Halls Gap is a great 'jumping off point' for lots of great walks in Grampians National Park. We particularly loved Mackenzie Falls, the Pinnacle, Venus Pools and Boronia Peak. Boroka lookout has a stunning sunset view. Thank you DULC for providing us with a relaxing retreat to return to after a big day of bushwalking. We'd definitely stay with you again.
"Escape in the treetops"
What a wonderful escape away in a beautiful setting amongst the trees. We stayed in the treehouse cabin and it was the perfect weekend getaway for two after having it bookmarked as a place to stay for several years. The only regret was why didn’t we book sooner? Part of our experience we had the continental breakfast supplied, which was delicious and a beautiful bottle of wine which we enjoyed whilst watching two wallabies eat plants outside the living room windows. The bed was super comfy like sleeping on a cloud, we did have windy and rainy mornings which were wonderful to watch whilst laying in bed. Nothing beats the glass ceiling in the bathroom looking up at the sky at night, especially with no light pollution. We will definitely be back again because it was the relaxing break that we needed. Wonderful helpful hosts Ruth and Shane, we would recommend this place to anyone who is after a relaxing stay, with just a short drive to just a few wonderful spots within the Grampians National Park. Try Pomonal Estate, they have just opened and it’s a stunning spot with delicious wines, beers and ciders. Get the wedges with the Chilli Jam. Delicious!
"Lovely quiet retreat"
Stayed for 3 nights in the tree house, while my brother and sister in law were in number 2. The chalets were quite different but both were excellent. We loved the sense of being in the bush and were lucky to be visited by a wallaby most days and an emu with 3 chicks. Watching wildlife from the shower was not an everyday experience and being woken by birdsong was quite special. The chalets are relatively far from each other which gives a sense of seclusion. We self catered using the gas bbq which was a treat after eating out for a long time. Highly recommended.
We stayed here for four nights and it’s very well appointed. We enjoyed the novelty but did have enough of the flies and one massive spider by the time we left. The cabins are generally well cleaned and maintained but you have to be mindful of where you are. My one housekeeping criticism is that its all about the view here and the windows needed cleaning. On the plus side, the rain-shower with glass roof and bath with view of the bush were great. The bed was huge and comfortable and we were well rested for hiking in Halls Gap.
"Best Tree House Ever!"
I stayed here as part of an extended trip in Australia and I loved my time here! These are very luxurious and contemporary cabins in bushland......light and airy..... and who knew that relaxing in the bath surrounded by windows, a glass roof and bushland, just within reach it seemed, could be such fun!! The toiletries are absolutely top notch by the way! Emus stroll by...not a familiar sight for Brits! In my tree house the bed was up on a mezzanine floor surrounded by windows. I didn't close the blinds at night and waking to the sound of birds and the sight of tree tops is so exciting. There was a spectacular thunder and lightening storm one night which was less exciting...but stunning to watch and hear tucked up safe in bed! I walked into town in about 40 minutes where there are some shops and a small, pretty well stocked general store. The Grampians area is wonderful and well worth a visit. There is a very good visitor center where you can find out about the National Park, trails, lookouts and things to do. In November the wild shrub Thryptomene was in flower which was great because the cabins are in Thryptomene Court! These are stylish, comfortable beautifully designed cabins set in bush but within reach of the small town of Halls Gap and the National Park. Both hosts, Ruth and Shane, were friendly and helpful...this is a 'do not miss' if you are in the area.
