"Should Have Known Better the Second Time Around"

Having stayed here in February with friends to my disappointment, I gave the Floris another try in July as I was coming to Curaçao for a week of diving and relaxing and my dive center was just across the street from the hotel. I stayed in a royal pool view suite. Upon entering the suite, there is a small vestibule with big closets and plenty of storage. I was immediately knocked in the face by the stench of bug spray - clearly, someone had just fumigated the room. Running the fan to circulate the air, it was a good 24 hours before I could no longer smell the spray. However, considering the mosquito and roach issues this place had during my last visit, I thought better spray than sorry. The suite was very spacious, though the word "luxurious" - which is plastered all over the Floris website - is not what I would use to describe the suite. In fact, a better word to describe it would be "basic" as the bed was past its prime; the furniture was worn and covered with Ikea looking covers, the kitchen space had to have been decades old, and the floors, which seemed to be painted concrete, always seemed dirty. The bathroom, too, and especially the shower, was in desperate need of renovation. Perhaps my favorite part of this stay was when I used the dishwasher on my first night after cooking dinner (freshly caught lionfish from a dive hunt - yum!). I ran the machine and jumped in the shower. After drying off, I walked into the living room/kitchen space and the whole floor was flooded with water, which was leaking from the dishwasher. The space was quite large (I'll give credit where credit is due - the suite is quite a nice size) and I couldn't believe how much water there was. When I called the front desk to tell them my suite was flooded, the response was a tepid, "We'll send someone." AFTER 20 MINUTES, I marched down to the reception area as someone had not come. I was pretty taken aback by the woman working the reception - I explained again, rather calmly, that the whole living room space was flooded and we needed someone to come right away to help with the clean up. Her response was to pick up the phone and tell a cleaning woman to meet me at my room. When I returned to the room, it was another 10 minutes before the cleaning woman came in. She was very sweet, but the two bath towels she brought with her were hardly sufficient. So we used the remaining clean towels I had in the suite. After 30 minutes of helping her clean up the mess (she was older and I was not about to have this woman, who seemed pretty weary from working hard all day, get on her hands and knees and clean it up all by herself - they sent no one else to help us, even after she called to say how badly the room was soaked), things were dry. It took about another two hours for me to get new towels so I could shower as I worked up a sweat sopping up all the water. Like my stay in February, I didn't want to spend too much time at the pool: still many broken tiles with sharp edges, broken fountains, and bugs and leaves clumping everywhere, just like five months prior. The grounds were lovely as before, and the parking lot wide open for easy parking of one's rental car. But, honestly, that's about as good as it gets here. After three nights, I was glad to move to the Papagayo down at Jan Thiel. No bugs anywhere in sight. Lovely pool. Spotless, clean, modern rooms near plenty of shopping, restaurants, and beaches. And, not as pricey as the Floris! I get the sense that because they bill themselves as an LGBTQ friendly resort (which it seems they are, which is great) and have a happy hour where you can have two beers for free, somehow this means things are hip, modern, fun, and cool. In reality, this place is beat down, short staffed, poorly maintained, and shoddy. A fresh coat of white paint and minimal decor does not make a place "luxurious" - it only covers up the stains that eventually come back. And come back to the Floris is something I absolutely refuse to do.

"Calm and relax"

A boutique hotel with large rooms and terraces and balconies. Very good internet coverage. Gay friendly hotel, ensuring peace and discretion. It has its own beach with a small restaurant where you can enjoy delicious snacks and have a cold beer. The service was quite nice, the rooms clean and comfortable. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to the city. Besides the location could be better.

"Amazing hotel and staff!"

The best adult hotel in Curacao! Always positive and helpful staff! 24 hours pool and clean spa. While our stay, 5-6 PM 2 free drinks at the bar next to the pool.Definitely, would recommend it to anyone who is openminded and ready to have some fun!!!

"I would stay here again"

We spent 4 nights in Floris considering our vacation was longer than planned because of the hurricane and we couldn't afford to stay in the hotel where we originally stayed in. From the moment I walked in, I thought "Why I wasn't here from the day one!?" The accommodation has a great vibe with a lot of privacy and lots and lots of greens. The whole atmosphere is like being in a hotel in the middle of a rainforest, it's just an amazing experience. The staff is amazing, rooms are clean, the pool will offer you a lot of privacy and a good time during the night, and happy hours are charry on top of the cake. I loved its adult only because you can really be more "relaxed", whether it's being naked in the sauna/spa, or enjoying some privacy and cuddling in the pool. It's simply a great place to slow down and really enjoy some romantic time with your partner, especially for us coming from huge and fast cities. There were only two small downsides that are minor compared to all great staff we experienced. The room we stayed didn't have almost any sunlight, what you don't really care about since there's no reason to be inside while the sun is out :) The second thing that management should be aware of is that the mattress wasn't that comfortable and is probably ready to be replaced. Again, my highest recommendation and without mentioning other hotels, you should definitely consider this option rather than some more expensive ones in the neighborhood.

"I would do it AGAIN and AGAIN!!!"

Stayed at the Floris for a week and being a beach bum, this was the perfect location. The beach water is breathtaking, and great for swimming and floating. I travel a lot but this trip was hands down. I truly appreciated waking up and going on my balcony for my tea to the beautiful sounds of birds chirping in the morning and not loud music and train passing in NYC. The staff provided such a calm and comfortable atmosphere. I MUST SAY I had the most wonderful, relaxing time at the Floris Suites and Moomba Beach Club. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed my time with SANCHA at the pool bar, GINO, NORMAN and ANDRE at the MOOMBA BEACH CLUB.  It was amazing. They really spoiled me and made life DUSHI at the beach. I would really do it again
