We stayed at Floris Suite Hotel for 10 days. We were in a Royal Suite garden view , it was the size of a 1 bedroom apartment. We loved it. The room was cleaned everyday, they even did our dishes. The staff is very friendly, helpful and kind. The lady that cleaned our room was fantastic.. The pool area is very private. We really cant wait to go back. We had 6 friends that stayed the same time we did they also loved it.. For sure 1 of they nicest places we have stayed. It was also helpful that we rented a car as it is a little away from the city..
"Wonderful Adult Hotel on Curacao"
Had a 1 bedroom Suite with Garden view. Rom was nice, a/c worked well all day and night, so the room always had a nice and cool temperature when returning. Small kitchen, enough to have coffee in the morning, but probably not stuffed well enough to cook a meal. Maybe on request the Hotel provides more. Furniture is nice and decent. My room was well kept, bath room with a huge shower, no bath tub, but was great the way it was set. Most of the rooms have a nice terrace. The Hotel area is large and tropical, buildings are 2 floors only and really blend into all the tropical green of the Hotel. The Pool is large and enough sun beds and towels are provided. There is also a private beach club about 10 min walk away or the Hotel provides a free golf cart drive or pick up if required. At the beach club the same service as at the Pool is provided and the bill can be charged to your room, which is convenient. Food is nice overall, not cheap, but menu does not change or has no daily specials, so selection limited after a while. Prices are similar what you pay for meals and drinks, if you go to a beach location in Florida and all is in USD and NAF, the local currency. Just to have USD is good enough. There is a nice Happy Hour every day from 5 pm to 6 pm by the Pool, which allows for a range of complimentary drinks - one per person. On Friday they also have a Lounge party at 6 pm with complimentary drinks (2 per person) until 7 pm and half price drink list. Nice get-to-gether. There is a very well maintained Spa and a small but ok gym. The stuff is extremely nice and helpful, rooms kept clean and well maintained. However as it is tropical and a lot of trees, therefore due to the wind there are always some leaves on the ground or in the Pool, even the Pool and gardens are cleaned daily. Expect this as it is part to be on a tropical Caribbean Island. One other thing are these mosquitos, so be aware and prepared. I had brought my own mosquito net and it was great, at least my sleeps were silent as you can never avoid that not some of these mosquitos sneak into your room. Thank to some recommendations from other traveler before and the price for such a net was worth it. The Hotel Floris is about 3.5 km away from Willemstad and a free shuttle is provided at 9 am and at 4 pm. The return by taxis is a fixed price of $15 at the time. You probably need a car, otherwise it is difficult o get around and to find a supermarket. There is a Convenient Store close to the Hotel Floris, but prices are probably twice as high. Close to the Hotel Floris there are not many Restaurant, however, there is a nice Steak place called El Gaucho and a nice Beach restaurant next to the Hilton. Hilton also was nice for a Buffet breakfast, while the Floris provides rather an a la carte Breakfast menus. I would highly recommend the Hotel Floris if you like an Adult only place and if you are ok with some gay clientele preferring to staying also at this Hotel. It was fun, but it was also quiet and relaxing.
"...Customer Service is severely lacking, but I would stay here again."
I am going to be completely honest, as all reviews should be. I really loved this hotel. Not only was it extremely affordable, the room was clean and spacious and comfortable. Despite my experience, I would stay at this hotel again with very low customer service expectations. What brought this review down to a 3 star was the customer service alone. 1. When I arrived, I was given a dinner voucher without the person at the front desk of even telling me why. I had to inquire and he informed me that the room that I booked had an issue and they had to put me in a lower grade room for the night. Fine. I asked him about the room rate for the night and he informed me that it would remain the same as when I booked, because they gave me a dinner voucher. Um, what? So, this dinner isn't free and this isn't a comp. I shouldn't have to pay what I am paying for the suite if I am staying in a standard room. The manager, who was extremely nice, corrected it right away. 2. The beach club: (sigh). I was brought a cushion for my beach chair. After paying for premium access, several hours later, I realized that those who also paid premium access had terry cloth/towel like covers on top of their cushions. One was not provided for me. When I noticed, I inquired and was brought the towel cover and they just left it on my chair. They did not put the cover on. There was no "beach service." No one walked around to see if I wanted a drink, brought a menu, etc. I ordered my food at the desk and had to get up and go get it when it was ready. 3. In the hotel room, there is a sign stating that guests get a 10% discount with Sixt rental car. per the instructions on the flyer, I called the front desk and they informed me they would call me back about availability. Even though I inquired about Sixt, they called me and gave me a rate with Budget that was three times the rate that was listed on the flyer. When I asked about Sixt, I was informed by the front desk that Sixt didn't not have anymore cars available. I called Sixt directly, and yes....there was cars available at the listed rate. 4. I went to the front desk and informed them that I was doing the Klein Curacao excursion the next day. I was informed that I could come down in the morning and request the car. I take responsibility for part of this because I didnt realize that it was a 30 minute ride to get to the port. I went down at 6:20am, and thought I could get a car right away. This is not the case. I requested the car -- long story short 20 minutes later, the car was not there. I was not going to make the boat that was leaving at 7:30. This man decided to give me a lecture about car service about private car services in Curacao and that if the person was here they would have charged me. He profiled me and told me "i know you're from the city and that's not how it works but there, its private business." EXCUSE ME? Even in the city if you cancel a car that has arrived you get charged. He made the call from his private cell phone, so I am sure he was trying to help his friend out. When I brought this to his attention he got defensive and started yelling. I literally stopped him in his tracks, told him it was too early in the morning and I am on vacation - and to have a nice day. Again, I would stay at this hotel with the mind frame of being completely self sufficient. Overall the hotel is beautiful and people were friendly, but there needs to be training on customer service overall.
"Spacious suites and adults only "
At this hotel, I came to relax. The hospitality was genuine, warm and friendly. The pool is extensive, playful and clean. The spa was large, high-end with fresh clean white towels. The beach was very close with solid beds and very fast Wifi The food menu has a variety of dishes including local food. This hotel deserves a return visit Great connections to Canada
Nestled 20 minutes from the airport at the base of hill sit this hotel/spa called the Floris Suite Hotel, while it's location is about 2o minutes from downtown, yow will have access to everything you need to have a fun, relaxing and enjoyable vacation. The Hotel welcomes guest to an open air lobby, tropical forest and canopy walkways. The hotel guest have access to the beach which is a 1 min golf cart ride across the street or a 5 min walk ( I recommend the walk after the first view, lots of beautiful flowers for selfie background), also on the beach are rental chair, bar and restaurant that you can charge to your room. The ocean is breathtakingly beautiful, several layers of blue, turquoise, sea green and clear water awaits you. Note when you enter the water it if very rocky so take your time or head over to the left side of the beach where it is smoother. Rooms at the hotel are very modern, ours included a kitchenette, studio layout living room/bedroom and outdoor patio (and bathroom). For dining and drinks, there is an onsite restaurant and two bars, one located next to the pool, gym, the spa includes sauna, steam room, hot tube, lockers and showers. Staff at the hotel were very friendly, accommodating , helpful and knowledge (most if not all spoke 4 to 5 languages). I am definitely returning back, its just a manner of time.
