Spent five days at this resort and really enjoyed our stay. The positive things are the staff are really amazing and went out of their way to help out. The young lady that picked us up was very informative and the young lady who runs it was 10 out of 10. Nothing was a problem even when we were in the office for the 10th time asking for help and she was always helpful with an amazing smile. Our room was great and the view was unbelievable, pictures don't do it justice. Loved our stay. Breakfast was also included and was Ok, if they don't have what you want just ask and they will look after you. One other thing is that we were tired and wanted to eat in so we ordered and they brought our dinner to our room at no extra cost. Another tip is to pre book your car or scooters prior so you are assured to get them and make sure that the scooters are new and not old as a couple were given scooters from the hire company that had no brakes. The negative was that when we booked we were under the impression that their was a microwave, toasted ect so you could eat in your room but to find out that they had been removed so you had to go to the restaurant to eat and spend money. It is very expensive to eat anywhere in cook island so be prepared to pay. We were told on arrival that nothing was opened for the next two days as it was public holidays so we would have to eat in their restaurant. It was only when we picked up our bikes that we noticed that everything was opened and was cheaper to eat out then in. All round this accommodation was great and can't say enough about the office girls - just beautiful. Thanks for making our stay a good one.
"Lovely meal and spectacular view"
We stayed elsewhere but came here for paddle boarding, dinner and dessert on several occasions. Relaxing atmosphere, gorgeous views of the lagoon and sunset and lovely food. Cocktails and dessert were also great! *Note we traveled in Nov 2015 but left it a little late to write our review*
"Felt like family"
At the small family-owned Aitutaki Village, you will be treated like you are one of the family. With just a few cabins - 10 or 12 I think, the staff knows your names and works hard to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The property is located on the opposite side of the island from most of the resorts (but a quick 5 minutes from the tiny airport), which makes it quiet and private. Despite being far from the crowds, it has a nice outdoor restaurant and bar, plus is within easy walking distance to an excellent breakfast/lunch cafe and another restaurant. Staff also directed us to a scooter rental place within walking distance. We then were able to drive the quick 10 minutes into town and to explore the rest of the island, including the highest peak. When we wanted to attend the amazing Aitutaki Days celebrations to see the choral and dance competitions between the villages, the staff arranged for a driver, who provided an excellent tour, as if we were old family friends. When I was in the process of booking our stay, I wrote to Tania and Elaine several times with questions. They answered within minutes, literally. This kind of service is rare, and I really appreciated it. The cabins are a bit rustic and simple, but are spacious, comfortable and air conditioned. Take your bug spray; Aitutaki has lots of mosquitoes and ants. Tap water is not safe to drink but the staff fills your water bottles and provides a pitcher with fresh water for the refrigerator in your cabin. The property is blooming with the tropical flowers. There were kayaks, deck chairs and beach towels available for use. The fruit is incredible and the views are beyond compare. We had peace when we wanted it, and activities when it was time to get moving. If you are looking for a sanitized, spa-like hotel that could be plopped down in any location around the world to provide the same monotonous experience then Aitutaki Village isn't the place for you. If you want get a real feel for the friendly people of Aitutaki and the way that they live, come stay here. We loved it, appreciated it, recommend it, and would absolutely go back.
"Food here is great - near enough to the best on the island"
Food in the Cook Islands can be pretty hit-and-miss. Here the food is generally consistent and a pretty good standard. Particular dishes are great every time. Some others are only ok, but nothing that you'd call terrible. (unlike other places on the islands in the near vicinity). Staff are friendly and location can't be beaten. If you're in Aitutaki, do yourself a favour and have dinner here.
"Fun Island Night"
We came here for Island Night dinner- it was wonderful. Great introduction by the chef, great entertainment and wonderful service right down to a ride to and from our resort. Also a great location- looks like a wonderful place to stay as well!
