"Why had we not stayed here before???"
Hands down fantastic!!! Stayed many places on the island and working in the travel industry I have high expectations. Manuia Beach Resort didn't fail to deliver. Gabby at the bar was a delight as were all the staff we came across including Mary who cleaned our room. Stayed in a very quiet, private garden room that was very spacious and had a beautiful outdoor shower. Bed was very comfy. The 3 nights that we stayed here whizzed by and we were very disappointed to be leaving to another resort at the end. The food in the restaurant was great and I highly recommend the flambe prawns ... yum had these twice. The live entertainment on the Saturday evening was "interesting". Would have been nicer to have someone more livelier than the elderly gentleman on the keyboard. Felt like retirement village entertainment. Having said that the entertainment the following evening didn't disappoint. Manuia the resident cat was a delight and made the place feel like home. Will most definitely be returning and can highly recommend.
We stayed for 6 nights in a beachfront room. It was so easy. No worrying about food, the restaurant had delicious meals available every breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool is so inviting and plenty of lounges to sit and read or drink and laugh. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The whole resort is kept very clean and the gardens are beautiful. Nothing on the Island is very far away, so you can easily get to the sites. If you don't have a car, the reception will book tours or dinner etc, most places will come and pick you up. The Dive shop is only 5 min walk away. We enjoyed every moment. My husband thought the bed was too soft but I didn't mind it at all.
"Holiday paradise found!"
This small boutique Resort offers everything you could wish for a magic stay-away from home. Quiet private rooms set in charming tropical garden, clean, very comfortable bed, lovely outdoor shower, attentative friendly personnel and a terrific on-site restaurant offering amazing food. Everybody, staff and management treat you like one of their own and are always at hand to assist and make your stay memorable. The pool and beach are never crowded and if you need transport to explore the island, the Islander Car Hire office is across the road. We celebrated my 75th birthday and the attention given to me by staff & management was heartwarming. These were 7 unforgettable days at Manuia Beach Resort. Thank you Sue and staff. "5th visit to the Cook Islands"
We chose to stay in Arorangi this time because of the beautiful beaches and sunsets on that side of the island. The gardens at Manuia Beach Resort are stunningly beautiful, and it was a lovely environment in which to spend time. The gardener is incredible; everything was immaculate. We had a Beachfront Room and enjoyed the proximity to the beach. It is a beautiful location and the room was adequate and very clean. The delightful Fijiian cleaner was most helpful. The young lady who was mostly on duty at breakfast was very unimpressive. No greeting on arrival or leaving - a basic in hospitality and most unusal in our experience. Other guests made the same comment. She didn't come to our table to see if we wanted a cooked breakfast once - not good for business! We had to ask. It was very different with the manager and a gentleman when they were there. I was very disappointed not to be able to have nu at breakfast or any other time. We didn't mind not having TV in the room but needed a phone to make bookings and contact friends there. I discovered on Trip Advisor on the 2nd last day that a phone and TV could be provided on request. Office staff kindly made bookings for us but a walk up to the office was needed which is not necessarily convenient for them or guests. There should be a compendium of services in each room as is always the case in our experience. As frequent travellers it's the 1st thing I do in order to easily find our way around services and ammenities available. We didn't know where flippers and snorkels were for example, until my husband saw someone getting some when he was in the car park. This is not a 4 star property, probably about 3. For the last 2 days of our stay, the pool did not meet health standards when tested by the authorities! My husband and other guests were there when it was tested.
"Amazing place to stay and very kind staff"
If you're looking for a place to stay in Raro, my partner and I would highly recommend Manuia. We stayed there for 8 nights in November 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was really nice, had a fridge and a jug to boil water. We loved the outdoor shower. The food was really nice, albeit expensive (but everywhere in Raro is expensive for food anyway). The beach and pool was really nice too, and the hammocks and beach loungers were really comfy. In particular, we found the staff amazing. I happened to get really sick on my last day there with a viral infection and they really looked after me, giving me free coconuts to drink (which have lots of electrolytes in them) and the manager even took me to the hospital to make sure I was okay. If you're looking to stay there, just do it, you won't regret it. (And make sure you hire a scooter to get around the island, it's so fun!). We would definitely stay there again :)
