"Incredible Honeymoon/birthday Destination"

My husband and I spent 8 nights in Tokoriki Island Resort, and loved every minute of it. The Pros: 1. The staff is so welcoming and accommodating. It isn't just front desk and service staff, but housekeeping, maintenance, band members, even the kitchen staff who you rarely see but we got to meet (shout out to the head chef who just started a few weeks ago; his food is top-notch!). You quickly learn it is native to the Fijian way of life, as the villagers of Yanuca were just as warm. 2. The food. We jokingly called it our post-wedding diet because we gained weight staying here! The food was that good and portions are huge. We did not get the meal plan and did not regret it - often we split an appetizer or dessert at dinner but were very full and we are two Americans with large appetites! We were just too tempted by how good the menu options were. Fresh seafood, everything well seasoned, an excellent mix of dishes, and I was impressed by the Asian influence. I've never had a better curry or roti. They specially baked me a birthday cake which was very sweet and delicious and made sure my husband and I got to have tiramisu off menu on our last day since it was our favorite. 3. The island's pristine grounds. Everything here is very well taken care of. The beach is beautiful and there isn't any trash strewn about. The grounds are well-manicured and trees/shrubs are all pruned every single day. They also do a great job of mosquito fogging nightly. 4. The care and love and thoughtfulness put into your stay. There is literally thought put into every aspect here, or a way to adjust anything for you - a drying rack for your bathing suit which you can find in the outdoor shower, we forgot an adapter for our US electronics and were provided with one, tweezers the front desk let us borrow when we had a splinter, I ordered a particular drink and after that everyone remembered it was my favorite, after a day everyone knows your name and your story...you hear "welcome home" when you arrive and it's not really understood until you experience it. Tokoriki really does make you feel like you are home! 4. Rooms are lovely! The plunge pool burre is amazing. Hopefully next time we stay in a villa! We were in burre 21, relatively close to the heli-pad and did not notice too much noise from the helicopter transfers. The Cons: 1. Book any excursions early - they were lax with us about cancelling since truthfully once you get here it's so easy to relax that we found it hard to stick to a schedule, but activities do book up fast 2. There is only 1 two person kayak so there was always a wait for it. I'd suggest Tokoriki invest in another one. 3. The track could use better rope handles. Some of the posts were not attached into the ground and I was nervous to hike up the steep hill without it. It was well worth the view however.

From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with open arms. Tokoriki Island Resort makes you feel like family, and offers a smile with every "BULA". The resort is paradise; our room was clean, and perfectly relaxing. The food was delicious, and the Spa was one of a kind. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation, Tokoriki Island Resort is the place to be. If you're looking for relaxation with some adventure, be sure to plan your excursions ahead of time to ensure there is space and time for all you want to accomplish!

"Looks even better when you get there"

We visited for my husbands 40th. This was a real treat, just 2 nights after a Denarau stay. We enjoy Denarau but this is another level. Such a special experience, in particular the initial welcome just made it feel really special. The pool and outlook is the best I've ever experienced, just so open and a stunning tropical ocean view. The bures are really spacious and don't feel sterile like hotels can do. We had the seafood dinner and the Teppanyaki dinner, but the regular menu is so good anyway! Little touches like afternoon tea with delicious petit fours just added to it. The staff all welcome you by name (the whisper goes out when you enter the restaurant) which is pretty amazing, but I enjoyed just chatting with the staff. It's a place for relaxing 100%, there is outdoor table tennis tucked away in the garden, and boat/snorkelling activities if you have trouble just lying around all day like me (I got there eventually). Thanks Tokoriki, counting down until the next special event to justify another trip!

This was our 4th trip to Tokoriki. Words cannot describe the feeling of arriving and being greeted as a returning guest, or a new guest. The new wharf which the helicopter lands on is great. If you are looking for a peaceful, beautiful break this is the place for you. We always have a Sunset Pool Villa which are spacious, having their own lounge area, large outside day bed -- great for shade and reading your books, and good sized plunge pool, outside shower is private and beautiful to stand amongst the tropical trees. (Also an inside shower for those that don't like being with nature). Views from all buses and villas are of the sea, with no one in front of you. Outside deck area of pool villas are private. The resorts grounds are immaculate, plenty of native greenery and beautiful flowers, frangipanis, hibiscus and many that I don't know the names of. Food menu changes daily so lots of options and you cannot leave without having the "Sandy Ice-cream". You are not treated as a guest, you are always treated as family - you can see why they have won so many awards. There are many activities to be enjoyed, but we always just chill, the beach changes each time we visit, sand gets pushed around and sometimes there are a few rocks exposed, but you can always swim and snorkel. Private Ocean Front dining is definitely worth doing. A great place for honeymooners or special anniversaries. Spa is very good. Teppanyaki restaurant is a fun night, only 8 guests at a time, so book before you go, great way to meet other people, and have a laugh. Patrice and Robert (Managers) mix and mingle with guests and nothing is too much trouble. Food and Alcohol is quite expensive but no more than any other resort in Fiji.

""WOW, WOW and more WOW'S""

We stayed three, lovely nights this past week before departing for New Zealand. Oh my goodness - it was heavenly. The wonderful and extremely efficient staff (led by warm and friendly Noa) made our stay over the top. They clearly enjoy their work and it shows. Thank you! Our "oceanfront bure" was clean, comfortable and generous in size. We loved the privacy (#15) as we were a fair distance from the main lobby/dining area. Of course the outdoor shower was refreshing and fun. Like some of the other reviews we only used the outdoor shower. Kris and her dining staff made our mealtimes enjoyable. Everyone was warm and welcoming and the service was great. The food was delicious and we were glad we bought the meal plan. It was nice to try so many new entrees and not worry about pricing. The pool is spectacular! It not only offers incredible views it is large enough to do laps while others are lounging around. Being a swimmer this was a bonus. We have stayed at some lovely resorts over the years and yet Tokoriki stands alone as truly the best. Thank you so much for a few days of pure heaven!!! NOTE: The Tokoriki Dive Shop is wonderful and I have completed a separate review.
