Over First Landing Beach Resort

Gelegen aan een prima strand, waar ooit de eerste bewoners van Fiji hun voet aan land zetten. Welkom in het First Landing Beach Resort.

"Small resort but big in attractions"

   22-06-2017
First Landing Resort - Fiji Nestled in the coast of Nalamu Beach in between the towns of NADI and LAUTOKA we found the First Landing Resort. It was located on the sport that first Fijians landed 3,500 years ago, Hence its appropriate name First Landing. To emphasize the point an artificial Foot Island was created. Movie shows and weddings are performed at the Foot Island. First Landing is a quaint little boutique resort of 65 rooms that is built in garden settings. There is a boutique, a spa, and a tour desk that offered day trips to various parts of the island and to the nearby islands. Using the resort as our base we booked two tours of the towns, the sugar mill, Botanic Gardens, the Hindu Temple and a Hot Spring cum Mud Pool. First Landing first started off as a seaside restaurant so they are famous for their affordable and delightful cuisine. We found the food ‘combatable’ with those of Plantation Island Resort where we stay before we came to First Landing. It was the atmosphere of dining under the stars and swaying coconut palms with good food that took our heart. Beach Volleyball, Coconut Husking, Cultural Lessons, Fish Feeding, Guided Tours, Kava Ceremony, Kayaks, Kid’s Club, Musical And Cultural Entertainment, Pool Table, Snorkeling and Table Tennis are the activities found in First Landing. We were fortunate to witness a beautiful Indian Wedding, a movie show at Foot Island and the weekly dance show features dances from around the Pacific ending with heart stopping Samoan Fire Dance. There are many more things we want to do in Fiji, if given the time, and we will certainly come to make First Landing Resort as our base.

"Refreshing"

The beach restaurant is quite picturesque to say the least!! The best time to visit the place is around sunset!! The view is absolutely refreshing and takes you away from all the worries. I have just been to the restaurant so I can't quite talk about the resort on the whole.. but the way it is made is quite nice and of you're a person who like to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city.. this is the place for you!!

"First visit to Fiji"

Bula, Thank you to Amanda and her wonderful staff for an amazing first visit. The Resort is well situated to enable easy access via taxi to Latouka or Nadi. The Bure style accommodation are with garden view or ocean view, serviced everyday and are air conditioned, clean and comfortable. Live entertainment during the week : staff song and dance performance on Tuesday, Polinesian fire dance Live band during happy hour till late. Kids activities to keep little ones busy. The staff are so caring and happy to take care of little feet on the move. On site spa, highly recommended! Food all freshly prepared on the day, a good menu, Including dhal roti! Veg options available and good. Staff are very courteous and polite and remember your name. The foot island connected to the resort is an ideal place for weddings. ..ohh has a helipad as well! Look forward to visiting again. Vinaka

Not just a random name; but the historical location where the first persons (now known as Fijians), came ashore on the main Island in a.d. 1500. A lovely property about 15 minutes from Nadi, adjoining a quiet village. Lovely view of southern Yasawa Islands . Bures (cottages) are well appointed and modern with indoor and screened porch seating. Dining indoors and outdoor patios and at bar. Nice pool, well landscaped facility. Food is quite good. Romantic and quiet and a popular wedding location I highly recommend as providing a solid Fijian cultural experience as is not routinely found in many Fiji resorts and hotels . If you are in the south end of the main island (Nadi area) the restaurant is recommended more than any other. If you are confused as to why you travelled to this remote, wonderful country and could care less about culture and history, then please go stay in the cultural vacuum known as Port Devarau

"Relaxing location "

My partner & I stayed here for 4 nights in room 206 at the end of May 2017. We liked this property as it was just far enough away from the main towns to be relaxing & peaceful & we spent half our time at the resort just relaxing, reading a book, playing in the pool & enjoying some good food. The porter was a lovely, helpful gentleman who remembered our names & addressed us every time he seen us at the resort. We found all the staff at the resort to be very friendly, helpful & happy. We ate at the restaurant 3 nights which were all really great meals at good prices & had lunch maybe 3 times - again very good. Drinks are well priced & I swear they make THE BEST iced coffee EVER! They had a great selection of cocktails & we did try a number of them! The property is set along the waterfront but the beach is a bit rocky & we did not attempt to swim as the tides didn't work out for us time wise - but a very beautiful setting. Breakfast was included in our room rate but it is very average to poor, very very basic but you could order specific meals at an additional cost. I used the day spa for a facial & pedicure - both were excellent, very relaxing and the price reasonable - the staff very lovely to deal with. The general setting of the resort is beautiful & we particularly liked the leafy surroundings - the gardens are very pretty & well maintained. The pool was in good condition & we were very happy that at the time it was mostly empty apart from us! Our room had a king size bed which was just two single beds pushed together (not very romantic) & we also had a sofa bed made up which was a little odd as we only booked for two people & the sofa would have been good to sit on! The room came with a ceiling fan, air conditioning (thank goodness), a bar fridge (no mini bar supplies), jug, 2 cups & glasses but no tv. The combined bathroom/toilet was clean & spacious BUT the shower pressure was terrible. I have long curly hair & the only way I could clean my hair was to fill up the jug & pour it over myself. We didn't complain to management as we were pretty sure there wasn't anything they could do about it but it is a deal breaker for me - especially when you are hot & sweaty & just want to get clean! A major plus for the room was the semi enclosed veranda, lined with fly screens this area was lovely for sitting in with a drink, reading a book - a massive bonus would be if they had a day bed in this area! Overall we really enjoyed our stay, we loved the setting, the prices were reasonable & the people very friendly.
