Wife and I recently stayed here and absolutely enjoyed every minute we spent in the resort. Always something going on, there was a activities board up down by the beach giving you all the times and locations, staff were also very helpful. We don't have children but it appeared as though the youngsters were well and truely catered for. Food was good quality as expected and a broad selection across the different eating venues on the resort, to me it catered for all tastes. The resort is a cashless system so a tip to check your account each morning, staff will print off your account for the previous day and you can pay as you go or just check that you are being charged correctly. Far better to do this than get a shock at checkout time which could be quite stressful. Extremely friendly staff, some of them will even remember your name which is really nice to hear. I would recommend staying here and trying some of the other close by restaurants for a change.
"Don't believe the hype, very average holiday"
Incredibly expensive food, disappointing kids club, very average service, no lifts. Subpar experience all round. Some nice points but would not recommend staying here. We came here for 8 nights, 5 adults 3 kids (5yo and 20months old twins). We stayed in the Lagoon building which was great and close to the pool, perfect spot to stay with children as advised by Javed when I was booking the rooms. Rooms 316 interconnecting with 315, and 313 adjacent. 316 was massive, 315 was great with twin beds, and 2 cots. The 2 cots were really good, sturdy. 313 was tiny, but all 3 rooms had a lovely ocean view. However, there was no mention that there were no lifts and we had to carry the pram to the 3rd floor everyday. The 2nd floor is at the walk way level and would have been fine... Breakfast, was a buffet. Very limited, basic choices. The food was fresh but just a small choice. For families with small kids: there are no tea spoons (felt this way) every morning we had to search high and low, and the staff would just roll their eyes. Really unpleasant. Coffee was nice but $8 FJD for a large, we just felt robbed. There's was a very scrappy, little area set up in the adjacent bar for toddlers to 'play' amongst the sound equipment and various cords that were there for the band that played in bar at night. The pool was good, although completely over run by gigantic inflatable toys. There's a little shallow .3m kiddy pool which was lovely first thing in the morning The loungers were plentiful and there was shade. Couldn't be reserved, which meant everyone had a chance to get a good spot in the shade. The food by the pool was average to say the least. But the cheapest option, somethings were really poor like the chicken wrap. However the prawn baguette and nasi goring were edible. Drink were astronomical, $25 AUD for a Long Island ice tea. But all drinks were delicious, and happy hr 4-5pm was mayhem as drinks were half price. Over all the hotel is tiered, but functional. The bathrooms are a bit mouldy and dirty even though they are cleaned daily. The lighting is terrible. Plenty of clean fresh towels, and the 5pm drinks in our room which were complimentary and part of our package were a great touch and very timely after a 'relaxing' day wrangling the kids. Kids club was tiered, but had lots of activities in 2 hr blocks. There is a playground with sand that's part of the kids club, we went there daily. The ladies running the kids club were ok, they weren't amazing and warm, just doing a job. The beach and activities is ok. Very windy in the afternoons with shallow water, but incredibly rough sand with shards of coral. Bring water shoes for the kids as adult ones are available to use. Also kayaking is free and a nice way to spend some time as the water is very calm. No beach toys are provided. The 3 x restaurants, are incredibly expensive $45 AUD mains, $70 AUD average bottle of red that would cost $25 in Australia. There's a couple of shops in the resort, $25 AUD for a can of sun cream. I took a taxi to a local supermarket and got lots of supplies such a nappies and bottled water that lasted almost till the end of the trip. Transfers from Nadi Airport $190 AUD one way for a minibus which fitted 5 adults and 3 kids, included 2 car seats. There's also crazy charges on all the bills, so check everything all the time. Feel free to ask me anything you'd like to know.
We loved this resort and had a very special time.It was our wedding anniversary and we were very well looked after. We had the pleasure of meeting the management team and heard firsthand how passionate they are about their staff and their resort and it absolutely shows in how everyone in the resort comes across. We loved the location ,unlike other places you are not trapped in a resort it is well located to explore the surrounds.the Eco park is excellent ,make use of the local dollar bus which stops outside the resort and you can easily explore Sigatoka and other local areas.the resort restaurants are great.Breakfast is excellent and you also have local options along the road for additional options.Happy hour at 4 is very good value ,we found all the prices fair for resort level.Rooms were beautiful ..we were in 610 in the concrete block ,was a good local for reception pool kids club and restaurants.Staff are a standout and there was so many it's hard to pinpoint specific but to Kaiori a porter who lent me one of his own books ,to Lumeri housekeeping room 610 afternoon of the 11th August who helped us with an issue with our daughter ,to Suteri a pool attendant at the bar ,the wonderful Sera the woman who runs the hair salon who is management of the spa also ..As I say it's a standout resort ,you will not regret anything about booking here .
"Amazing time in Paradise!"
It was our first visit to the Outrigger and we will definitely be back and recommending it to others. From the moment we arrived we were on Fiji time with the help of the fantastic staff at the resort. Service was friendly and helpful and always completed with a smile. The adults only pool was a lovely escape, but the family pool was so large that it was equally as relaxing even when filled with families and activities. The Bebe Spa is definitely worth a visit to really get you relaxing in holiday mode. We enjoyed all of the restaurants onsite as well as some great local restaurants just down the road in easy walking distance of the resort. The butler service was fantastic and very well received each evening. Only little downside was the beds were a little too hard for our liking and also the selection of NZ wines. I would suggest sourcing a better brand for a nice NZ Marlborough Savingnon Blanc and a good Central Otago Pinot Noir. But that could just be our personal preference. Overall we felt the value for money was good and the service was great for the amazing holiday that we enjoyed very much. Vinaka
"Excellent resort, friendly staff, great food"
We stayed in a resort-view room for a week, which was clean, tidy and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and I had a great sleep each night. The staff and very friendly and welcoming, we loved every minute of our stay. We spent a fair bit of time in the Adults Only area of the resort, far away from all the screaming kids. The resort is very family-friendly and it basically has a day-care centre for the kids and is popular for weddings. We grew very attached most of the staff we interacted with and it was sad to be heading home - they really made our resort experience, unforgettable. The food at all the restaurants was fantastic and all of the cocktails were great too ;-)
