"Not the place to stay if you love ocean swimming"
We stayed here for 9 days and didn't get to swim in the ocean once, this we very disappointing. The tide is very shallow. There are plenty of other things to keep you occupied. We were close enough to Sigatoka to go in for a look and shop. Another day we went on the jet boat safari which was great fun. We also had a driver take us to a waterfall close by. Kids club was a bit boaring for my girls aged 13 and 9. Meals were good and the room was tidy and spacious. Not sure I'd be a returning guest though, as there were zero wow factors for our family and the ladies at reception were very dry and moody. Not what you'd expect from a Fijian. Next trip I'll try a different resort
"Already planning our next visit"
This is our 4th visit in just over 3 years and we cannot wait to come back again. The beautiful people who work here make the resort what it is. The facilities are great and the limited access to wifi is a bonus. A great way to get to disconnect from technology and enjoy time together as a family. A special shout out to Ana who always greeted us with her beautiful smile poolside. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Ana and we cannot wait to return to paradise next year. Bula Vinaka xxxx
Spent a wonderful 11 days at the outrigger boxing day 2016 through to 6 Jan 2017, this was my 2nd visit in 2016.Easter we had an ocean view room which was great, this time around We booked a plantation bure, which was great for our son to play outside and 20 feet from the kids centre, which he enjoyed immensely. The front counter smoothly got us into our room without any fuss, even though we arrived at 7.45 am and we were not supposed to be there until 3 pm, awesomely good service provided (especially with a cranky 4 year who hadn’t slept for 12 hours) The Talai Butler Services is fantastic! The staff bend over backwards to help you any way they can. My son loved miri was the highlight of his day to see her each afternoon. Having the smiling miri great you in the afternoon with an ice cold bevie was one of the highlights for myself. So here comes the %1 percenters that take the gloss off the outrigger, rooms need upgrade, lighting in the bure is keeping with the overall theme, but they are not bright enough especially in the bath rooms, usb ports for charging in the rooms makes life easier, Wi-Fi which you get 30 minutes free per day, needs to be dragged into line with resorts over the world which means free24/7. Cleaning of the bathrooms needs to be checked we had black mould in the grouting. The cost of alcohol is high, I can understand import tax on foreign beers but why are the Fiji beers so expensive. Restaurants: the best food and service we found was at the sundowner, the staff are awesome, spent New Year’s there and most dinner and lunches. Baravi restaurant, this restaurant is hit and miss, outside service is great (dean the standout waiter) one night we waited for 45 minutes before we could get any one to notice us (dean wasn’t working), And there was a management member sitting there drinking beers off duty, he could see us but he did nothing to alert staff, saw the same person there during the week, getting served before customers. Vale Ni Kana is the place to have breakfast, great array of food, but if you want a barista to make you a coffee there is a charge Gymnasium: first day there noticed one of the machines needed repair spoke to the attendant, next day hadn’t been fixed, another day no towels were available. The gold driving range is great, quick cart ride down, only short coming is no golf gloves. management need to think about families and have budget meals. Would I go there again you bet ya! Would I recommend it to family and friends you bet ya!
Having travelled in the UK, Europe and parts of Asia we found this to be the friendliest and most pleasant resort/hotel that we have stayed in. We stayed in April with our family in the Ocean View rooms. They were comfortable, have great views and are well serviced. The complimentary wine/beer and canapes at 5 o'clock are a nice touch. Our family enjoyed the activities provided, mostly around the main pool, but also the reef and spa. Although we were in a time when the resort was almost full it did not seem crowded. Adults who want time away from the children have an Adults Only pool, a great Nanny service and a Kids Club. Two things stand out at this resort. They are the Staff and it's relationship with the local community. The staff quickly know your name, what you like to eat and drink and are always happy and willing to chat. They genuinely love children. The resort is a training institution and so is able to pick the best staff. It's Chef has won international awards and the food is excellent. Being a Third World country there is a big difference between the opulence of the resort and the lives of people in the local community. The resort has projects to improve the community facilities and the guests are able to participate. Two days a week you can go with the trades people provided by the resort to assist. Some of our group went to the local primary school to help with building two new classrooms and to meet the staff and children. A great experience! For some of our family this was their ninth visit and returning guests are invited to a complimentary cocktail party hosted by the General Manager. This is at a bar perched on a hill above the main resort. A great way to watch the sunset. Government import duties have raised the price of some food and drink but it is still cheap compared to other holidays and great value. This is a great holiday! Vanaka!
Very expensive once you are in the resort. Restaurant's and bars all dear no cheaper options. Rooms are ok but nothing special. Nice cheaper restaurants outside the hotel. Cant swim or do any beach water activities 4 hours either side of low tide. Nice facilities pools and gardens. Very clean.
