Over Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa

"SIMPLY PHENOMENAL -a 5 star review is like calling the Eiffel Tower a “metal statue in Parisâ€"
The title says it all. Let me sum up my review by saying, when I was in Bora-Bora, I saw many of the other resorts and after coming “home†to our overwater bungalow each day I never looked back for a single second. In fact, I would stay at this hotel over and over and over and over. Moreover, I don’t think that I wouldn’t even risk staying at another resort because this experience was just so completely awesome. After I got home, I received a questionnaire from the hotel about our experience with the hotel. And I will share with you the same response that I gave them in our review. That is from the moment that we got the resort to the moment we left there was absolutely nothing to even be critical of. It really was that good. As I explained in my review sometimes you stay at a place you know it’s not gonna be good and it isn’t good; other times you stay at in mediocre place and you make it a bad experience or a good experience, it is a hit or miss. Other times you pay to stay at a place that is supposed to be really awesome, but you seem to get everybody on their off day, you get a bad room, your experience is mediocre. That is an awful awful experience. With this hotel, we had no expectation, because we had never stayed at a Conrad Hotel before. But I think our lack of expectation actually made this experience so phenomenal. Everything that we did, every interaction with the hotel, the staff, the facilities-everything was really top-notch. I am not hyper critical, But I felt like we were “in the moment“ every single minute that we were at this place. Anecdotally, I understand that this is a relatively new flagged hotel for Hilton. When we visited some of the other resorts, you get the impression that the people that wok at these other places have been there a long time, and there is an personality element of the workers of “stifle†and the facilities “worn.†This resort in my opinion was very fresh, and the people that worked there were genuinely engaged in your well-being. If we were walking by minding our own business, we may get asked, “would you like this, would you like that†“ can we get you this, can we get you thatâ€. When we went anywhere, it seemed like the staff knew who we were. Maybe we were obnoxious, bad apples, but we felt like we were really welcomed and valued. It was really unrelenting, and this is why we had the discussion while we were there, “oh my god this place is really amazing, I don’t even have anything to complain about even if I wanted.†We would get up in the morning, and have this amazing buffet, with everything from pain au Chocolat to Asian stuffed buns. We would go snorkeling out below our Bungalo, and we had the most amazing fish, schools of fish, so many fish you can’t possibly even imagine, and they were swimming under our Bungalow. One of the hidden secrets, is this place has so many underwater fish, they are everywhere, and when you go snorkeling at your own resort, it is like swimming in an under water aquarium. You don’t even have to go outside of the resort to see amazing schools of fish. I saw them everywhere. The kind of fish that you see in saltwater aquariums. Here are a few things that I think are important to know. Before going our question was how do we get from Bora-Bora airport to the hotel. Here is the skinny, once your plane arrives, you can take a free shuttle, which is a boat shuttle, to the main island. Then, as I understand it, you can take a free shuttle to and from the resort. In our case we paid a round trip fee per person that takes you directly from the airport to the hotel and return. It is true, you can save a few bucks by going be free route, truly if you can afford the trip to Bora-Bora, it’s really not a stretch to simply pay for the shuttle after you’ve been on a 20 hour long flight with connections from your point of origin. The other question I had before departure, was, whether there is a need to leave the resort. We were there for 10 days and to be honest there was not a particular desire to ever leave the resort. My impression was, that we had everything that we needed there. That is how fabulous it was by the way. One night we journey into town on one of the shuttles that leaves the resort, I believe hourly, but I’m not really sure. Anyway we ate at one of the restaurants and the main town, it was fun, But it wasn’t something that we were really yearning to do again. There are two or three restaurants in the main town and I understand that there is a disco. But after we went to town and ate on one occassion, it really was just enough for us to experience the town. We also rented a catamaran for a day, we booked this about three months in advance. It was well worth a day excursion around the island and we had an excellent time. We also took a tour to see the giant manta rays. I thought this was so “JacquesCousteau “ and I loved it. We also went snorkeling in a few areas around the islands. The one excursion I regret not doing is the shark tour. I’m not sure what this is like but it seemed amazing in retrospect. And I’m sorry that we missed it. The other excursion that would’ve been fine was doing the JetSki around the island. But even with 10 days you really don’t get your fill for an awesome experience. One other observation: we went in late December and the weather forecast was stormy and raining every. Single. Day. But in reality when we got there it was what I would call Miami weather. Sometimes it rains even when there are no clouds in the sky‘s. And then two seconds later it stops raining and the sky is perfectly clear. So we had awesome weather every single day. But the weather forecast for some reason was clouds and storms. Something else that I would recommend: if you are a Consumer of alcohol, be sure and pick up a bottle or two at duty-free before you board your flight to Tahiti. When we got to our hotel room the first thing that we wanted to do was pour a drink, so we had a bottle of rum and were able to make our drinks. On our first day, our hotel let us check in around 10 or 11 in the morning, even though check in time is not at 3 PM. The room was completely utterly spacious. Among other things, we had gigantic sliding doors that went out onto a sweeping, two-tiered balcony with panoramic views of bora bora mountain— the deck had built in hammocks and glass floor. After a 24 hours flying, a few drinks, swimming in our personal ocean and aquarium, I remember waking up, passed out naked lying on that hammock, wondering where the hell I was. Paradise of course. Anyway I could go on and on but I would never second guess going back again.
"Best hotel in Bora Bora!"
When we arrived in Bora Bora airport we were pleasantly met by the Conrad staff. We took the shuttle to the hotel as we arrived we were offered a nice orange juice while we waited to check in. All went well and we were shuttled to our room in one of their golf carts. It was a very nice room, a pool overwater villa to be exact, a very nice deck and a pool as the name suggests, no neighbouring villas, so privacy was at a maximum. We settled in, spent a nice day and then later we decided to have dinner in the Iriatai French restaurant. The next day we had breakfast in the French restaurant again and it was very nice. The poolside facilities and activities were excellent. First we tried snorkelling off the deck of our bungalow, which was beautiful. Then a few days later we tried kayaking which was fun, as you got to see the wild eagle rays that lived close to the resort, then we tried paddle-boarding, which was as fun as kayaking but harder. Then two of us got on to the hotel’s hoby-cat. They also have a mini golf, which was very entertaining for the younger members of the family. Everything I have mentioned was excellent, but the pleasantness of the staff was above all outstanding. It is definitely very expensive, but trust me, it is totally worth your while.
"A very special experience"
Paradise…5 Star+…romance…world class cuisine and wine…very, very special people. If you are looking for that very special experience, Conrad Bora Bora Nui is a must. OK, if you are still reading and are not already online booking, here are the details. First, a little context to put our review into perspective: • We have been very fortunate to travel the globe extensively. With a special anniversary and birthday, we were looking for something very unique, and the photos and reviews of the villas on the water in Bora Bora looked perfect. • Now…which resort. Our travels have taken us to some very great experiences at many a five star location. Several of these brands being options we researched for Bora Bora. And as a Hilton member, we also researched the Conrad Bora Bora Nui, their new, next generation, and bigger Bora Bora property of 6 months; on its own island minutes from the main island. Based on the combination of exceptional reviews and years of being satisfied Hilton customers, we selected an over the water villa at the Conrad. And we are so thrilled we did. Location, beauty, the property, the villa, the cuisine (thank you chef Kevin), the wine selection (thank you sommelier Richard), but most importantly the people…starting with the very special people of the islands (welcoming, sharing, caring), add the seasoned and skilled staffers (with great and fun personalities), add the management personnel (engaged, visible, and sincere), and top it all with a very special person, Caroline, the manager of Guest Services. If it all sounds too amazing…honestly it was. But here is validation…talk to the staff that came for a year and have stayed for 3, 7, 10 years. Talk to the other guests who returned to Bora Bora years after their honeymoons and world travel and rated the Conrad Bora Bora Nui at the top of their list. To close, we had two reasons for writing this review: 1. To help you, the readers, make your decision easier. Our advice, get online and book the Conrad Bora Bora Nui; and 2. To say a very sincere thank you to all of the wonderful friends we made at the Conrad. Hope this has been helpful in making your decision.—Rich and Cheryl
You will not be disappointed! A truly remarkable experience! There is no reason to leave once you are there. Complimentary Bikes, Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle Boards, Snorkel Gear, Mini Golf, an AMAZING staff, are all within walking distance from your room. The views are breathtaking. Pack your passport, your bathing suit, and a camera because that is all you'll need! Hope to visit again!
What a fantastic stay for our honeymoon! Could not have asked for any better. We were picked up from the airport with a very large and luxurious boat shuttle, even though there was only one other guest in it. Upon arrival to the resort, we were greeted by music, fresh towels and tea, as well as umbrellas (it was raining briefly), then whisked by cart to our room, which was already prepared for early check in! The greeter explained every little detail about the resort and our room as he dropped us off. From there everything went spectacularly, from the very consistent service, to the good food, to the beautiful grounds, beaches, and pool. What I loved the most was that the resort was almost full but you could never tell, there was rarely more than 3-4 people around us anywhere we went. Food was delicious, albeit pricy, but it is like that at any bora bora resort. Breakfast buffet was delicious with many options. We opted for the nightly dinner package through our booking, which included a nightly 3 course dinner for 2 at the iriatai (French restaurant). Great value and great food. We did a couples massage, which was amazing; the facility is high above the resort and has a beautiful view of the facility and the surrounding waters. Only hiccup was we had a minor malfunction with our air conditioning and our shower drain, but those were fixed immediately while we were out eating. We can’t wait to return here one day. We are already looking at other Conrad resorts to visit; Conrad bora bora Bui has us interested in staying at all of the others!
