"Quiet and cozy but not too far from the rush"
We stayed in September and it was lovely, the wonderful garden with plants and flowers, the kind staff. The small houses are very cute, big beds, a comfortable shower and even a small bureau/dressing table. The breakfast next to the pool offers sweet and salty and every day fresh fruits and juices. The beach and center are just around the corner Definately a place to stay if you lÃke it smaller and quieter. Come in and relax.
"A true disappointment"
After reading all the positive reviews on this hotel, I started to doubt if I was about to review the correct hotel. Unfortunately it is. As I read the less positive reviews I realized that I agreed with everything that was written. We stayed in Bali Agung Village on the last 3 nights of our amazing trip through Indonesia. I had hoped it would be a nice hotel where we could relax before our long flight back. Unfortunately it was the worst stay of our entire trip. It started when we were shown our room (404). I almost threw up when entering the room. It smelled like sewer. Also, it had a dark and smothery feeling to it. It was hard to breathe. The toilet hadn't been cleaned (for which we only received an apology, nobody came to clean it. Thank God for Dettol wipes). It actually looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. There was pee on the toilet seat and sticky dirt at the edges. The doors wouldn't close properly, which made it easy for mosquitoes to enter the room. We asked to see another room, but the one that we were shown smelled even worse and had the same door problem so if this was going to be it, we chose to stay in the first one. There was no mosquito net and the mosquito plug thing smelled like burned plastic so I didn't use that. I don't think that would have been healthy. The AC was full of dust and dirt and because of that it didn't work properly. We woke up every morning bathing in sweat, full of mosquito bites and feeling unwell. Every morning they were varnishing the stairs outside, which also brought a strong smell in the rooms. On top of the sewer smell and atmosphere in the room it gave me a strong headache and made me feel sick. The toilet hardly flushed and we found out it leaked at the bottom. We had to ask for someone to come fix it, as I didn't think this was very hygienic. It took 4 times asking and 1,5 days before somebody actually finally showed up. Lots of "I'm sorry" and "Tomorrow" but no action. Also, most of the lights above our bed broke down. Same thing. The toilet eventually was "fixed" by putting an extra layer of glue around the bottom. Before fixing anything at all, they brought a note for us to sign to confirm we took one bottle of water from the mini bar. Not really a great timing to do so. They never refilled the mini bar with a new bottle of water though, so at checkout they wanted to charge us two bottles, because they claimed we had taken another one since there was only one left in the fridge. The bathroom really needs an upgrade. The shower heads were completely calcified and with the already low water pressure, the water coming out is even less. We only had breakfast in the hotel, no dinner or lunch, but I had stomach problems after having breakfast. There's not a lot of (healthy) choice and the fruit is warm and covered with flies. All staff just seems completely slow and careless. Front desk during check in and check out were quite rude, hardly speaking and not smiling at all. They all give different taxi prices everyday for the same route. They also don't seem to remember you the next day. I would strongly suggest to the owner and the staff to improve the service, be more accurate (refilling of mini bar i.e.) and put your customers first. A (sincere) smile can go a long way. Also, we know basic, we've done basic, but this hotel has no basic prices and doesn't promote itself as being basic. And even the basic that we've done was clean. This wasn't clean. I don't need a lot, but a clean bathroom and being able to breathe, is that so much to ask for? Such a shame, I think the hotel has great potential. The Balinese style set up is really nice and cute and it looks perfect from the outside...until you enter the rooms.. Since Seminyak has a lot of hotels, I would suggest to choose more quality for a better price.
"Very nice hotel, it looks more like 4 stars than 3!"
Very nice hotel, we really enjoyed our stay there. The territory was not very large, but green and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and polite, always smiling and ready to help. They even arranged a free transport to the airport for us! It is a very quite hotel, it was fully booked when we stayed there, but we rarely saw or heard other guests, except for breakfast time and near the pool. The rooms were quite, with only the sounds of nature heard at night (some birds, frogs, lizards and cicadas), but these sounds were quite relaxing. Breakfast was great, enough fruits, bakery and both Asian and Western dishes, and started at 7 a.m., which is very convenient if you want to go to the beach early or live for the tour. Bathroom needed some cleaning and renovation - the shower did not work very well and the toilet was not very white, though these things were really minor. The only thing that could really be improved - the situation with the towels. They did not give beach towels for each room, just put them on sunbeds near the pool. It would have been ok, but the quantity of sunbeds was much less then the quantity of people in the hotel, and if someone used the towel and then left, there were no towel on that sunbed, when someone else wanted to use it. Luckily we had our own towels and could use them, otherwise we wouldn't have the opportunity to swim in the pool in the afternoon, as all the towels were already used and there were no new ones. We also had to take our own towels to the beach, and they were always a little damp due to the weather.
"Beautiful peaceful hotel "
This hotel is located in the busy Seminyak beach, but it is an oasis of tranquility. The Balinese style of the hotel is beautiful and the rooms (I'm in a standard room) are modern and clean. The bed is very comfortable, the air conditioning works perfectly and the shower is great. My room is next to the pool, but I only hear birds. The free breakfast is good with a mix of western and Asian options. The free airport pickup is an added bonus. The pool is fairly small but good enough to relax, cool down and have a cocktail. The beach and shops are only a few minutes away. The beach is very busy though.
"Hidden village in the city"
Spent a week here. Found the staff excellent. Checkin was a breeze and our villa was very nice. Bed was a king size even though the website says double. everything was clean and kept that way by the staff. Pool was nice retreat from the heat with a pool side bar to keep the fluids and spirits up. Had breakfast every morning with only one complaint, there was only bacon on our first day. The free daily shuttle to Kuta was a nice touch and you can get off anywhere along the route. There was an obvious admission at this resort that being there was no obvious way to book any tours from the resort, you needed to go out of the resort to make these. However on our last day one of our group mentioned this at reception and their reply was, "the tour booklets are under the reception table, you only need to ask". I thik it would be better to have an area were you can browse the available tours. We'll be back.
