"Everything that you expect!"
I was there for a conference on 2/10/17 thru 2/14/17. Everything was first class. Check in was fast and easy. I used valet parking. It is a little on the high side but well worth it. Staff was always helpful. I was in room 701 and it is on the small side; but that is ok because I was alone and spent very little time in the room. The bed was very comfortable. I liked the décor in the bathroom but the room was just another hotel room. The room has lost its historic charm. The food was good even for hotel conference lunches. The only thing that I could say was not just right was it tended to get a little hot at times. We had a reception in the 5280 Suite and it got very warm. The last time I stayed here was 18 years ago and I would say it is much better now. If you go - take the time to hear some of the history of the building. They are celebrating 125 years this year. I would give it 4.9 out of 5. I wish the rooms felt a little more historic.
"A luxurious treat!"
We just stayed here for our 20th anniversary (having married here 2 decades ago) and couldn't have had a more perfect stay. Yes, it's expensive but for a special occasion or a romantic getaway it is definitely worth it! (Love kids but don't bring them; they wouldn't appreciate it.) We have always found the staff to be top notch from guest services, food and beverage to housekeeping. The sumptuous decor is timeless. The hotel is also centrally located downtown for which there is no shortage of places to visit. If you don't feel like leaving, the restaurants in the hotel are all excellent and we've never had a bad meal at any of them. (Check out the lobby high tea and the Ship's Tavern- our favorites!) Room service is as good as the restaurants and not over-priced. We stayed on the 8th floor, corner room in the "Beatles Suite" where they stayed in 1967 (?) to perform at Red Rocks. It was the coolest room we've ever stayed in with Beatles memorabilia and even a Wurlitzer jukebox that played Beatles music. The history of the Brown Palace is worth exploring as well. It always exceeds our expectations and if visiting Denver/Colorado please consider staying here as opposed to big chain hotels. The Brown is a large part of Denver's history that you will likely find interesting. The only criticism I have, is like many upscale hotels they do not have complimentary Wifi. I've never understood the concept that the cheapest hotels include free Wifi but as the prices go up, so does the cost of Wifi. We also did not patronize the spa so I cannot speak to that part of the hotel.
"Nice historic priority"
I really enjoyed my overnight stay here. The hotel is historic but has had some updates recently. The rooms were clean and I believe it is a pet friendly hotel. If they do allow pets it is even more impressive that the rooms were so clean. I really enjoyed their breakfast in the restaurant. This is a Marriott property but. It your cookie cutter Marriott. I will stay here again when I go to Denver again and would recommend this place to a friend.
"Romantic weekend....you might never need to leave this hotel!"
We celebrated our anniversary here last Fall. Beautiful, romantic, poetic setting. We did take a walk in the beautiful, sunny weather down a block to the 16th Street mall area for lunch, which was nice. We had most of our meals in the hotel though as there is a great deal of variety. Enjoyed every moment and look forward to going back. Isolation within the hotel in the middle of hustle and bustle. Nice.
"Continues to surpass expectations"
How is it possible for a hotel to maintain a consistent standard of quality over 125 years? From the moment one walks in, attentive service -- with a smile -- is the consumer experience. The doormen are smiling, valet service is prompt and friendly, the front desk could not be warmer and more patient. Leaving my room in the morning I bumped into somebody in the hallway wheeling a cart and received a pleasant "Good morning!" Rooms are huge, clean and comfortable. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful and historic. My wife and i took a self-guided tour throughout the building, enjoying its historic rooms and architecture. One of the dining rooms has some extraordinary French memorabilia from the time of Napoleon - pistols, flags, standards from military parades. We did not take advantage of the spa and gym across the street but checked it out and found it very well fitted out with equipment. The cigar bar was packed and lively late at night. A coffee bar by the entrance is one of the best downtown with fresh French pastries. We look forward to the next visit.
